When my 35-year-old heavy door broke, I called Don's. It was the right call. Tim responded right away and recommended a new door. The spring and operation on the old door was shot and a hazard Duffy did the install and he knew what he was doing. He was terrific, on time and focused on getting the job done. His assistant also knew his stuff Now I have a new door that works, quiet and doesn't shake the house when it opens and closes. I,m happy I called Don's read more

I am beyond thrilled with the quality of service I received from Don's Garage Door Company! I had 4 estimates and Tim's (the owner of Don's) was the most honest and well priced. He didn't try to up sell me and did all he could to save me money!!! He is easy going kind, and offers exceptional customer service. He and his wonderful technician, Brian, (equally as kind), just left and I had to write a review right away. My garage is quiet, it has a new rubber seal on the bottom with new rollers and sounds like a new garage. You can trust Tim to do right by you. In today's world it is so gratifying to find a person like Tim who takes pride in his work and treats his customers with such care. read more

This morning I called Don's garage door in Petaluma to estimate a repair. I called around 9:30 and before 11:00 the owner came and made the repair very quickly. He was courteous and very helpful. It was completely worth the cost. I am extremely happy with this repair. It actually worked better than it did before I accidently bumped into the door with my car. It had problems before with closing it and I lost the remote so I had to go into the garage to open and again to close it every time. Now it works very well and doesn't pause like it used to when I tried to close it. read more

Make sure you google Don's in Petaluma before you call the number on Yelp. The number on Yelp went to a scammer when I called it. The actual company, in Petaluma has been great. The scammer has called me multiple times (even weeks later) and was very high pressure. read more

I am very pleased with the efficiency and competency of this company. Bryan did an exceptional job of installing my new garage door motor. I even have a battery that will allow me to open and close my garage door in case of a power shut down. This company does business right. The company let me know exactly when the installer would arrive, gave me a price i could afford, and informed me on how I could keep the door from needing further maintenance. read more

I made an appointment with Don's Garage Door Company, due to their good reputation and being a local business. Tim, the owner, came out to meet my wife and I and take down some measurements and see what we were interested in for a quote. My wife remarked on how polite and informative he was. We have an emailed quote this morning, one day after the site meet. What a wonderful experience. read more

My garage door spring broke, it would only open about 2 ft. I called Don's garage door company. They had a technician (Brian) there within 1 hour. Not being able to open the garage door to make the repair easier. I had a jeep and a truck camper shell in the garage right up next to the door. Brian worked around these obstacles being very careful not to damage anything. He did a fantastic job, installed new springs, the job was completed quickly and very professional. The garage door runs smooth and quiet. Thanks to Don's for getting the problem repaired quickly and Brian for a great job! read more

We had Dwayne from Don's garage door company. He was wonderful. He took a look at our opener and discovered there was no battery. He put one in and asked his boss to have the maker call him. They did and together he wired and fixed the opener, installed the battery, and it works beautifully! We will only go to Don's in the future!! read more

Very happy with the work done by Don's Garage Door Company. They replaced the springs on our garage door when they broke years ago and when the door suddenly stopped working yestereday we decided to call them again. Spoke to Tim when I called and he had Brian come out to our house within 20 minutes. He diagnosed the problem as a broken spring that had jammed the door and also caused damage to the motor from trying to work against the jammed door. We decide to replace both the motor and the springs. Brian had all of the necessary components in his truck and installed the new unit within a couple of hours. Garage door are working perfectly again. Would definitely be happy to use this company again. read more

Dwayne was really knowledgeable, super nice and did a fast and fantastic job. I am definitely recommending Don's garage door to others.

They were so prompt and helpful! I appreciate their help and information they provided me during our service call.

They responded quickly, had availability for an estimate right away. I made clear I only wanted an estimate and they acknowledged as much. Jeff showed up and quickly diagnosed the issue and gave an estimate. He understood I only wanted an estimate so no pressure but ... what he identified as the problem made more sense than what others had said and was a simpler and less expensive fix so I decided to have him go ahead and do the repair on the spot. Sure enough, good as new. In fact, better than new because sounds like whoever initially installed way back when just didn't do a good job. Thanks Jeff! read more

Don's Garage Door Company - "Before." The "after" is ... well... what you'd expect a properly functioning door to look like. - Garage Door Services Near Me - Petaluma, California

The best service!! Would highly recommend. They came and fixed the issue within a few hours. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Great service. Have been using them for years for our garage door. Always prompt and curtious.

I had Don's Garage Door Co come out to replace the back up battery to my opener. Tim was very prompt ,courteous & professional. He had it fixed in less than a hour. I will definitely recommend this company read more

Very prompt response and service, all fixed same day for a reasonable price. This company is a jewel.

I had Don's Garage Door Co install a Chamberlain Lift-Master GDO Cam 2 on 1/12/23 and am very happy with their work. Jeff installed the unit from scratch in about 2 hours. For some reason the new motor did not work so the owner Tim came the next day and replaced it with another new motor and it worked fine. Both Jeff and Tim arrived on time and cleaned up afterwards. The cost was fair. They gave us 2 remotes and a key pad was installed outside on the garage door frame so the overhead garage door can be opened easily from outside the house with or without the remotes. I highly recommend this company and would use them again. Peter J. read more

Arranged to have Tim come and replace our old garage door opener, and was pleased they texted me and told me what time to expect Tim - he showed up on time. Explained the old opener had broken, and I wanted a much quieter opener. He said he would install a Liftmaster belt drive and I would be happy with how quiet it will be. He arrived on time and gave me the run down on everything he was going to do. Said he would be about an hour and right on time he was done. Ran me through some of the new features (time and temp on the main door switch, and battery backup with a built in camera if we choose to use it. I am very pleased, and Tim even cleaned up behind himself. I would highly recommend Don's Garage Doors! Job well done! Thanks for such quick service! read more

Tim, owner of Don's Garage Door Company in Petaluma, arrived punctually at our home to repair our broken garage door opener. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. In addition to fixing the broken unit, he helped us choose a second unit to replace our 25 year old one. The new unit has a battery backup when the power is out. This will give me peace of mind knowing I can now get our wheelchair accessible van out of the garage easily when the power is out. I highly recommend doing business with Tim at Don's Garage Door Company. Bernadette Vilicich Marshall, CA read more

We had the nicest garage door repairman name Jeff, come to repair a broken spring. He was here the same day(actually within an hour or 2) and on time, if not early. He was extremely efficient and very professional. He replaced all 3 springs in less than an hour. I am very impressed! read more

Called these people by mistake and got hung up the 1st time and then a week later when I decided to be abused again I called and some wise cracking "Jersey Shore" character told me, without seeing my garage problem, over the phone, "I don't wanna waste your time or mine, it's going to cost $695 because of a new california law, blah blah..." I innocently replied $695? And as I exhaled, the sucker hung up. Such a charmer. read more

We have had Tim, the owner of Don's Garage Door Company, come out a few times to help us out with our garage. First to do a quick repair to an older opener, then to replace our garage door opener about a year ago, then just recently to help me reprogram our keypad. Tim has been great to work with and we are very happy with our garage door opener. Fully Recommend! read more

I needed a couple of rollers and my door was not sitting level. I called another local garage door company (the same people who installed my opener a few years ago) and they were no shows twice. I called Don's last night at 8:00pm and left a message. They called me this morning at 8:00am. Jeff arrived at 9:00am and was finished by 9:45am. And he couldn't have been a nicer guy. Use these guys. You won't regret it. read more

Install was quick. Very nice when explaining the product. Friendly service. Thank you for everything!

One of the springs spontaneously "combusted" and we were unable to manually open the garage door, which had penned in our cars. Don's Garage Door responded quickly. Jeff showed up promptly and was professional and efficient and very pleasant. Great doing business with Don's Garage Door read more

This review is for work this company performed for me a few years back (new to Yelp). I called them because the spring on my garage door exploded, trapping my car in my garage. They came out the same day, fixed it quickly and I'm happy to report that 5 years later, I have not had one problem with my garage door. Thank you guys, you were awesome!! read more

My second outstanding experience with Don's Garage door company. Great from the jump with the woman who took my call. They were prompt, priced well and their timing was like angelic intervention - my garage door spring actually broke WHILE Marcos was there. I had called about a peculiar noise and to get my door serviced. In the end I was provided with an excellent education and was taught how to do some maintenance myself (he let me film him so I would remember :) - he also showed me some tricks I'll surely need next power loss. Great integrity. Worth every cent. read more

Came right away and repaired broken spring. Quick and efficient. Have used them for years for that reason.

I suggest anyone considering using this company think very hard before doing so unless you don't mind paying a premium, enjoy poor communication, poor customer service, and non-transparent pricing. I was told the bill would be about $1K over the phone and when I received the invoice it was for $1,825.00. I was supposed to receive a call first if the opener itself was bad and given an estimate to replace it, but that never happened. I was expecting a bill of $1K. No one called me for my approval of the opener replacement or even once the job had been completed. They also sent the invoice to my tenants instead of me, the owner. The bill was for $1,825.00 instead of the $1K I expected and the opener had been replaced without my approval for an additional $875.00. The original opener did in fact turn on and attempt to move the door so I do not even trust that it did in fact need replacing given the way this company chooses to do business. Their invoice does not separate parts from labor and the owner refused to do so saying that they just don't do things that way. I explained that I needed the parts and labor separated for rental home tax accounting purposes, but I was again told that their system doesn't allow for it and that they had never been asked for this in 40 years of doing business, which I find very difficult to believe. The owner did not apologize for no one following through and calling me first for the garage opener replacement. He did not offer to lower the invoice or break down the parts and labor on the invoice. He simply offered to send someone out to remove the opener if that's what I wanted and that was it. When a business refuses to be transparent about pricing, it automatically makes you wonder what they're trying to hide. After calling around I learned I could have had the same exact opener and spring system replaced for about $500 less by another company. This company does not want you to see how much labor you're being charged for hourly and/or what they're charging for the parts, because it's a high hourly rate and no doubt a hefty mark-up on parts. When I mentioned I needed a third remote I was told I could buy it cheaper from Amazon. So, my advice is to call around, source the garage door opener yourself and any other parts you need and can find from Amazon since many of the same units are available that these companies are installing/selling, then find a company who will give you their hourly rate and install it for you. You can easily save yourself $500 or more. read more

Excellent service! Love our new 8' by 8' doors! We called around and no one compares to Don's in terms of speed (they were able to get in some doors for us weeks faster than other outfits) or in terms of price - definitely beat out all the other places we called. Don himself came out to measure and was super patient with all our questions. He got on the phone while at our place and let me know what he was able to get for us right away! Install was super professional! So glad we did not try this one ourselves and called Don's instead! read more

Great service, friendly staff, fair price. I needed 2 torsion springs replaced. It was easy to obtain a quote using YELP app. The quote received was the final cost, no hidden fees.
