Great work, sent over via insurance, after another company suggested total, very expensive replacement. They got it fully resolved and sorted, including full set up, all via insurance. Great work! read more

I have utilized their services in the past and have been very satisfied with their work, this was a maintenance check on my garage door system. Tony called to advise his arrival time. Well within the window given. He was professional, knowledgeable and personable. I recommend his company highly. read more

Main spring broke this morning and I figured I was stuck for the day, at least. Tony arrived within a couple hours - problem solved. That level of service is not typical - very much appreciated! I recommend AGD without reservation! read more

They say finding quality specialists in the trades is getting harder all the time. Not so much in the case of Automatic Garage Door of Marin. My garage door tension spring broke two days before Thanksgiving and on the day I was going to drive to Penngrove to pick up my Willie Bird turkey. The person on the phone was attentive and customer savvy, she understood my plight. She called me back to let me know "help was on the way". Tony E arrived at the house and replaced the tension spring and it works perfectly again. Tony is a solid professional, courteous and, after 35 years in the industry extremely capable. He knew the custom meat store I was going to in Penngrove because he lives nearby. He actually said, if I had known before I left, I would have picked up the turkey for you. You know? I think he meant it : ) read more

Tony is a gem! A wonderful gentleman with a cheerful disposition. Came out right away and fixed my garage door in a jiffy. This is what customer service, product knowledge, friendly service, and good natured business looks like. Thank you Tony. read more

We were in between rain storms when my garage door failed for the first time ever. I called AUTOMATIC GARAGE DOOR and within a very short time Tony arrived, diagnosed the problem and got me up and running again. The service was great and the price was very fair. Do yourself a favor and put their phone number in your phone book. Hope you never have a problem, but if you do, don't hesitate and just call them. read more

Our garage door cables broke this morning as I was heaving the house. We called this company and they were at our front door by 9 am. While it cost us $620 to have the cables replaced, we were very satisfied with the prompt reply to our request and the fine professional services provided. They knew what they were doing and had the equipment to make the repairs without having to go to a parts house. I recommend this company if you are need this kind of work. read more

I had a little incident with my car hatch and garage door. Tony and Noe did a fantastic job with an old door. They got here really quickly, came back a couple of days later for a slight correction, and did all this at very reasonable price. I got other bids. These guys are the best! read more

Came home today and discovered my garage door would not open. Called Automotive Garage Door and they were at my door in 1/2 hour, gave me a reasonable estimate and went to work and had it repaired in 45 minutes. My car is now parked in my garage. Noe was the repairman and was courteous, highly knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend Automatic Garage Door. read more

We had a finicky garage door that confounded us as to why it would often go back up instead of staying closed. I called Automatic Garage Door yesterday morning and they immediately sent a technician. Noe immediately figured out the issue and fixed it. He also programmed a second remote and my husband's car to be a third option. He was very polite, friendly, and professional. The cost of servicing seemed very reasonable. This company will be my go to should any other problem occur. read more

The company's email was hacked and the hackers contacted me through AGD's business email account (agdmarin@yahoo.com -- with all the regular email signatures etc on the email) to change my method of my deposit payment minutes after having talked to Ann via email establishing I would pay via check. I agreed to Zelle it, as the email requested, and replied to AGD's official business email that they can request it from me on zelle and completed the zelle request for $2500 that was sent to me for the established deposit amount. AGD later called me asking me when I would pay and I alerted them to the situation. Ann seemed to admit that it must have been a scam but they did not make efforts to accept responsibility or make it right. On our next call, Ann said they had someone look at their stuff and they didn't have any viruses. It's a hack.. not a virus. This is what two-factor and authenticators are for. I felt incredibly dismissed by Ann and she did not offer any solutions from AGD - said to tell my bank and I offered to let them know what they said. I had to call AGD multiple times to explain what happened because they had ultimately denied to me that they had been hacked. The Novato police told me they had to have been hacked (I had filed a police report and explained to Ann that my bank denied the fraud claim on zelle because it was sent by me and not due to my accounts being hacked). Still no offer to make it right, she wanted me to give them MORE money before getting a door installed still. The whole situation started to feel sketchy. Then I was now supposed to be out ~$7500 without even having a door installed yet with a company that was treating me poorly?? Against the recommendations of everyone I told about this situation and my contractor, I gave them ample opportunities to make it right, offer ANY sort of discount and realize that probably all of their customers info from an email account Tony told me they have been using for 15 years was compromised and leaked. People are telling me to sue in small claims. This actually seems like a serious breach of customer privacy that the State of CA takes seriously. After three months (!!!) of hoping the situation would be handled properly by Tony and Ann of AGD; I finally got demanding and a little confrontational (not easy for me - i'm not confrontational!!) instead of continuing to be patient and understanding of a local business who was also partly victimized and didn't seem to grasp the seriousness of it. Tony said something along the lines of his attorney told him he's not liable and he didn't have a zelle account, so what do I want from him. It was very telling that I see this as AGD only cares about whether there is a legal liability when it comes to handling sensitive customer service issues. In February I had left it with Ann that I was waiting for them to reach back out and tell me what they were going to offer since I refused to pay full price $2500 deposit again). They said they called me and left and message and I never followed up so they figured it was over and sent back the door I wanted - I don't see a voicemail from them on my phone from them, so I'm frankly questioning that. In the end (almost 3 months after this went down and tons of calls -- I finally started saying this is bullsh!t!!) Tony offered $500 off the ~$5000 door and install cost and I refused the request because it was entirely too little too late and chose to walk away WITH HAVING LOST $2500, than to deal with this company. I have filed with Attorney General of CA for the scam / data breach and DOJ for the scam as well. I feel left out to dry. read more

Tony did a great job of repairing our old garage door. He was knowledgeable, thorough and left us with a good as new door with a new remote. He even offered to research whether our old keypad could be reprogrammed. His fee was reasonable and affordable. read more

I have a vintage, swing out style garage door (a unique period detail to my home) that can be temperamental. Over the last several years when it has needed maintenance or repair, I've relied on Tony's expertise. With each visit, he has been honest and fair about my options. He continually demonstrates integrity with ways to save money while keeping this door functioning, even when it doesn't benefit him. What a gem! We need more Tonys out there. read more

We had issues with our wall garage door opener. I called in the morning and they were able to send out a technician to our house in the early afternoon. Tony came out - ( my appt was for 11 - 3 )- at 11:10!! So prompt! I was sure my garage door mechanism had finally quit BUT Tony quickly diagnosed the problem as an old remote! Within minutes I had a new remote and my door works perfectly now !!! I couldn't be happier. They had originally installed the garage door opener many years ago and I won't go anywhere else when needed! read more

I was extremely by these folks. I had them replace the broken springs on my Amarr garage door. I did not originally purchase the door from them, but they were listed on Amarr's website as an authorized supplier. Automatic Garage Door called Amarr and asked them to provide the springs under Amarr's Lifetime Hardware Warranty (which I paid extra for when I bought the door), even though I did not buy the door from Automatic Garage Door. This was pretty impressive service, since another Company I contacted wanted nothing to do with getting the springs under warranty. The service technician that installed the springs was friendly, efficient, competent, and patient with all my questions. I highly recommend this company and would definitely do business with them again. Also, their price for installing the new springs was quite reasonable. read more

The company came out to repair my garage door opener. The service person was clearly trying to save me money by offering to repair. I felt that it just needed to be replaced. He replaced the unit. The service person was extremely efficient, polite, informative. They recently came out because I was having some difficulty, not related to their work. Tony showed me where I was making a mistake and the door works again. Did not charge me for the follow up visit. I would clearly use this company again without hesitation. Great service! Great work! read more

Just from reading the reviews I felt like I was in good hands and my experience using Automatic Garage Door of Marin confirmed that! I called Wednesday morning and spoke with Anne; I explained that my mom's garage door was not working and it needed to be fixed ASAP. Anne told me the likely cause (issue with the springs), gave an estimate, and said they'd be out later that afternoon to fix it. By 5pm that day, the garage door was fixed and the estimate came in 100% accurate to what Anne had told me before. The staff member that did the repair was quick, professional, and kind. Would definitely use Automatic Garage Door of Marin again. Thank you! read more

I will be updating this review once the work has started and completed. I just wanted to to say that from the time the phone was answered to the time the technician, Noe, left post consultation, it was a wonderful experience! I immediately hit it off with Noe! He absolutely made my day. He was professional, friendly and compassionate. I can't wait to update this review when the the job is complete. I just wanted to say thank you to Automatic Garage Repair and that I highly recommend them, especially if customer service is important to you. It can only go up from there. Thank you, Noe!!! read more

I was fortunate enough that Tony and his team came to help my garage door drama today. Automatic Garage Door had previously replaced some tension springs successfully, so when I had a new issue I went to contact them. **However, I somehow was routed to another company who claimed to be "Automatic Garage Door." I caught wind of this shady situation and told that company not to come, but they showed up anyway claiming to be from Automatic Garage Door when they arrived. The fraud company even went as far of impersonating one of the people that works for ADG (yes this really happened). After many lies, excuses, and scam tactics, the fraud company left and Tony arrived later in the day. Tony fixed the issues in an extremely professional, fair, and responsible manner. My summary is that ADG is great, don't hesitate calling these guys to help you out. But beware there is a company out there scamming people impersonating ADG (and probably other establishments). Double (even triple) check you are dealing with the real thing. -M read more

My garage door opener pooped out with no warning. We had moved into our house 5 years ago. There was an old, peeling sticker on the wall from this company, which evidently had installed the system years earlier. I decided to call them, and couldn't be happier with the results! Ann answered all my questions and scheduled the appointment at a time that was very convenient for me. Dustin showed up, diagnosed the problem, and made the repair. The price was on the low end of the estimate that Ann supplied, which made me very happy. The company was responsive and professional. I highly recommend them! read more

High quality service done on-time and at a fair price. Tony was an OUTSTANDING technician focused on doing the job correctly. You seldom see someone with this much pride in his work...how refreshing. I wish I could give him more than five stars. read more

Responded to our emergency. Garage door would not go down. Using brute force, we got it almost to the ground, but leaving plenty of room for animals and other vagrants to slip under. We called mid-day. Although totally booked, a repairman showed up early next morning. Mechanism was shot. Repaired it on the spot. Now we know why our garage door sounded so cranky for years, it was warning us. Smooth sounding now. read more

The office staff was so helpful and courteous. I called with a concern about a noisy garage door & Tony was able to stop by and solve the problem. The company is so professional & knew I was a returning & satisfied customer, so they treated me with respect and did not try to gouge or over charge. I sure appreciate that in a business. I recommend this company highly and would not call anyone else! Thank you. read more

I had reviewed Tony and his excellent service several years ago and am back wtih this entuusastic update. Our door quit working over the weekend. I left a VM Sunday afternoon, had a call from Ann at 8:20 Monday morning to schedule a service call, and Tony appeared promptly by 1:00. Nothing major wrong - tightened up the screws and gave it a good overall servicing then was on his way. Amazingly great customer service delivered by a pro. My very large, one piece solid wood, lift up door had to be replaced. Years ago I had the lift mechanism replaced by AGD of Marin and so, because of the good job they did then, I called Tony for this new project. He worked so well with the contractor who had to reface the opening for a now 'standard' size door that the installation went perfectly. Tony really knows his business and his installer, Noe, did an excellent job. They are true professionals and also very nice. read more

Tony responded to our call for "help"... our current garage door had dry rot and wasn't operating correctly. Tony suggested a replacement door that would not only fit in with our style of home but would be the last garage door we would need to purchase. I highly recommend this local company if you are in need of a new garage door. Thank you!! read more

Just had Tony and his crew replace our large garage door. The customer service was wonderful. They were so easy to work with, so attentive, very friendly and accommodating. They installed the custom garage door yesterday, repaired something on our other door at NO cost and left everything clean and tidy. There was a very small dent in the bottom panel of the new door. Before ordering a new panel and making us wait a few weeks - Tony came back today to try and pop out the dent with some new fancy device he had....it worked, looks great and the job is done. Really - we don't fill out Yelp reviews EVER, but Tony and his crew did a great job and were beyond pleasant to work with. We would use them again for sure and would recommend them with confidence!! read more

I used this company to install my new garage door, all went perfectly. When the time came to get a backup garage door opener, i checked around on several companies. Some sell the 1/2 hp motor, some the 3/4 power motor. We went with Automatic who gave a clean quote for a slightly higher priced (and powered) 3/4 hp opener. Here are the best parts: A) Every part of the transaction was pleasant. No hassles, period. B) This new opener is whisper quiet and doesn't struggle and jerk! I feel more peaceful entering and leaving my house without all that garage door noise "drama". This new opener is so worth the little bit of extra money over a 1/2 hp model. You have to hear one to believe it! I got the right company in Automatic, for sure. read more

From start to finish the process of getting our broken garage doors fixed was easy with these folks. They are real pros. No drama, no surprises. read more

Great service repair on our garage door opener! And with laughs and smiles which made it even better! We'll be back.

The owner needs anger management. He became very aggressive when he asked me where some missing parts were for the door. He apparently thought my tone was not right. I thought he should have known about the fix since he did look at the door the day before. That's his business to know exactly what is needed for the repair. I repair automobiles for a living. Very complicated and much liability entailed. A garage door repair is a piece of cake compared to my job. Hey owner get a grip on your anger. The employee that fixed the door did it in a timely manor and was professional. I'm giving 4 stars for the job done by the employee but a 0 for the owner with the bad attitude. I would not ever recommend this company ever inless you enjoy being verbally attacted. read more

Giving them a 2 star. Actually would like to break up the stars as follows: Ann-customer service. ONE. Would give her a zero if possible. Short, rude, didn't listen, interrupted, wanted to send me to the internet to answer my question. Sorry Ann to inconvenience you. Tony, on the other hand, gets 4 stars. He is friendly, patient, helpful, and provides great customer service. Thanks Tony for carrying the place. read more

Automatic Garage Door is amazing! They were referred to me by my neighbors since we all have had issues with our garage door openers given the extra heavy doors. I had a great experience with Tony of Automatic Garage Door Co. He diagnosed my issue over the phone and set up an appointment for the following day. He gave me a 2 hour time window in which he would arrive and showed up within the stated time. He was courteous, and professional to me. After looking at my door he was able to determine that the issue was not as severe as it might have been and the work he did took less time and money then he had originally anticipated. I certainly hope I don't need to call on them again, however if I do wind up needing any further repair I would not hesitate to contact Tony next time. read more
