Wanted an installation of a 2-door and single sectional garage doors . Landmark Garage Doors was recommended to me by a friend. I called and left a message. The owner George returned my call to make appointment. First thing to remember is that George does not necessarily get to your place at a specific time. He called me to say he was 20 minutes away and whether I was home or not. Being retired, I was not concerned about the time. He showed up before my appointment. George give me some proposals based on what I said I was looking for. He is very personable and fun to talk to. I pretty much investigated with my son what we wanted ahead of time but still had to see the colors. From other contractor bids, I was told I had to do some preparation work like notch a workbench that was in the way of installing a track and get another garage door opener because old one could not be used due to crossbeam interference. Anyway, George said workbench had to be notched but they would do it. As to the garage door opener, they said they can work with the current garage door opener after slight modification. Not only was Landmark cost estimate better than other contractors but George was willing to go the extra effort that others did not. Installation by Robert was expertly done. He took about 6 hours for two doors. He was very businesslike but personable as well. You can tell he knew his stuff. When the physical installation was done, he reprogrammed the up and down limits of both openers and although willing to reprogram the remotes, I asked him to leave the remote codes alone. This way all relatives who have their car remote programmed to my opener did not have to do a reprogram. Yay. After installation, the 2-door one was making a lot of noise when operated by garage door opener. I text George and he came out the following day and within a minute knew what was wrong. Since one of the garage openers had to modified (not functionally), the garage door opener cover made the noise. George used two wood shims, and problem solved. Nice and quiet openers, both of them that I already had. Can't thank George and Robert enough for their expertise and work efforts. George has decades of experience and you can tell he enjoys his work. Other contractors were strictly professional, gave the facts/bid and then left. I called Landmark to ask if they sell parts without the service. Spoke to George and he said yes. I'm mechanically inclined so figured installing garage door springs won't be too much of a problem for me. Youtube helps also haha. Anyways when I went over to Landmark to pick the springs up, i had asked what he would charge to install them for me and his price was reasonable. George shows up in the afternoon 15 minutes before the time we planned for 4pm. Usually people you contract show up late but he was way on time. He replaced the springs and we noticed the garage door was binding right when it was about to close. He lubed springs and hinges and the problem was still there. Remember, I only hired him to install the springs, but he went above and beyond my expectations, trying to diagnose the problem. He said he would return with a reinforced bracket to install. Today Robert and Anthony show up and come to find out Robert has a ton of experience. He figured out that 2 of the rollers were installed in the wrong location which was causing the door to bind up with the door framing of the house. They repositioned the rollers, installed the reinforcement bracket and everything was all good. They did these repairs out of their own will and did not once ask for any additional payment for time and travel, parts, and their labor. I will definitely be doing business with them again and refering them to friends and family in need of any garage door and opener services . I was looking for a garage hinges for garage door as shown in the pictures below and nothing can be found on Amazon or Ebay. I found out that this hinges are actually part of the garage panel and have been discontinued. I chance upon Landmark Garage and inquired from them. Justin quickly responded on my email telling me to send the pictures. He responded that he may have it in his stock room! After 2 days he texted me telling me that he has it. I arrange to pick it up with his Store Manager George and today and pick up the hinges. He ask me to pay $10 for 3 hinges but I gave him $20. Had another Garage door company who I "HAD" trusted in the past come out and tell me I needed a entire new unit. All they did was look at it, took the cover off and said not fixable. Need new unit @ $750 They were the company who originally installed the entire new door and drive component. I myself looked up my Genie Garage door opener and found out that the Motor was lifetime warranty. They sent me a new one and I contacted George at Landmark on a Thur eve. He had his tech here Justin at 9:30 next morning. Installed new motor, replaced broken motor mount and put back cover that was left off original non- repair guy. George from Landmark Garage Doors has installed 2 garage doors for us. We chose him the first time because of his competitive price. We had him do the second install because we were happy with the first. The reason for this review though is because of a recent service visit. I damaged our garage door and knocked it off the track when I pushed the garage door button, closing it, while my wife was backing out of the garage. The damaged door would not close or open, it was bent and and stuck. My fault. We called George and explained the situation. He must have sensed the trouble I was in with my wife because he came over the same day and fixed our garage door. He replaced a damaged hinge, remounted the door, re-sprung the hinge and straightened a bent door panel. The door looks and works just like it did before the damage. George could have taken advantage of the situation and charged us much more but he didn't. He replaced only what needed to be replaced and fixed what needed to be fixed. I did have a small hiccups on day of installation where the installer brought over the wrong door but he rushed back to the warehouse and picked up the correct ones and installed them without any other issues. George's price was the same as other quotes that I got but I do believe that he offered a better product and a warranty that destroyed other installers by yearssss of coverage. This made him have the better overall deal. Also, I did do my research and checked contractor license before choosing a installer, George has been in the business for a long time and he has a squeaky clean record. I walked in to the shop to purchase a spring for garage door 4 years ago. George, owner, shared his concern when I told him I will install it myself at my rental property.
