He took over an hour to measure everything and sent me the lumber quote he received so that I was fully informed, then we talked labor. He would point out problematic areas (like rotting framing) and would ask me if I wanted to have it replaced rather than just covering it up with the new surface. He did an amazing job that had my mom's tenants and the neighbors complementing the work and I felt the price was very reasonable. Based on that job, I brought him out to take a look at my townhouse to possibly replace the siding and he suggested sanding, priming and painting instead due to the price of replacement. They sanded almost every square inch of it, primed it (in some areas twice) with a peeling paint primer that is like glue to fill in gaps and keep the rest of the old paint from peeling, and then put a double coat over everything. When they finished, I was surprised to find that they had power washed our patio, porch, and front half-height fence and even painted the fence though we never talked about doing any of that work. I felt compelled to pay him extra. Deck Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wELQYf0YGKY

Josh from Alger Sheds was quick to respond and come out to provide an onsite estimate. Our project was unique in that our shed needed to be constructed onsite due to access issues. Josh was informative, non-pressure and detailed with the quote and build process. He spent time explaining the different options and pros/cons of each. Once we signed the contract with Alger, we were told about 5-6 weeks for the shed to be installed. Alger delivered and installed the shed in less than 4 weeks. On the day of the install they were on time, respectful of our property and left the job site clean. They completed our 10x16 shed in one day!! Alger is definitely not the cheapest but most definitely the best in the business. We would highly recommend Alger!!

Since I had already contracted my business to another contractor I did not immediately respond. But after a second inquiry asking for an opportunity to solve my issue I did respond that the job was already arranged with someone else. I am very pleased to know that the posting of my displeasure of their seeming disinterest precipitated a genuine response and willingness to correct what might have been simply a "dropping of the ball" I will consider Alger Deck and Fence in future for their help with similar transactions. I have increased my rating.

We are really happy we chose EcoDecks to do our deck. From start to finish they have been transparent with all the details, changes and inspections. The crew that came out and did the work have been easy to work with and very meticulous when it mattered in the deck details. The guys showed up every morning and worked steadily throughout the day and completed our project in the timeframe given. We now have a beautiful new deck with TimberTech decking which we are thrilled with. I highly recommend this company as they did exactly what they promised and in the timeframe they promised it. Luckily our neighbor recommended ecodecks for our deck staining project and we are glad they did. Petru and his crew showed up first thing in the morning on the day scheduled. They carefully covered our neighbors fences and our property before staining. Communication was good and the final result was great! They came back the next day for touch ups and to make sure everything was meeting our expectations. Very pleased to have worked with them and will recommend to anyone needing this type of work done.

From our very first meeting with Cliff (the company owner!) to the final walk-through with Sam, the project manager, the experience was exceptional every step of the way. The communication throughout the entire process was outstanding. Not once did we feel anything less than a top priority. Texts were answered within an hour, and emails were always returned within hours. That level of responsiveness gave us complete confidence and peace of mind. Mike, Pavlo, and Wade were the primary builders, and they were phenomenal. They treated us like rock stars during the entire three-and-a-half-week build. Mike, the lead carpenter, took the time to explain every phase of the project in detail, which my wife and I truly appreciated. Whitmer Decks removed our old deck and built a beautiful new 14x12 screened porch, along with a 10x10 deck and staircase. I'm no professional photographer, but the results speak for themselves--we are absolutely thrilled. We can't wait for warmer weather so we can fully enjoy our stunning new space. The craftsmanship is simply incredible. These guys are true artists. Every time we look at the work Whitmer Decks completed, we're blown away all over again. Thank you to Cliff, Sam, Mike, Pavlo, Wade, Keen--and Spark Roofing as well. You are all amazing, and we will not hesitate to give our highest recommendation to anyone who asks. I want to mention that their estimate/upgrade process was incredibly easy and actually fun to work with! Each upgrade came with about 5-10 photos that were VERY helpful in envisioning what the final product would actually look like! With gratitude, Shawn Purcell

Missed HOA deadline for May due to waiting on this final quote to make my decision to submit the application. Frustrating. They clearly didn't want the job or update your website to remove "deck replacement".

The decision ultimately came down to how many supporting beams were being used by Sundecks (we did not want a supporting beam blocking our view from the walk out basement).Price wise, Sundecks were one of the more expensive . The work was done in a timely manner. The staff were polite and acted in a professional manner. The deck itself seems structurally sounds (the deck was completed late summer 2017) and from afar looks attractive. However, there is no finesse. There are nails in random places that have no function (they go in and out of the same piece of wood only). A lot of the nails were not hammered in properly and I had to go around with a hammer ensuring the ones that may come into contact with a person (railings etc.,) were flush to avoid injury. The corner beams on the railings are not level either (they are off set to each other). The nails in the base (floor part) are not positioned in straight line so up close it just looks sloppy, like I have done it myself. There are a lot of split pieces of wood, most caused by sloppy nail work. It just screams laziness. Now, if Sundecks had been one of the cheaper quotes, these details (although they would still bother me) would not annoy me half as much, since you should get what you pay for. But they charged a lot and the work is sloppy in terms of the aesthetics. It is for this reason I most likely would not recommend Sundecks, since for the money you should be able to get something more finessed.
