I would say that this is my second favorite. We stopped in just before noon, and everyone coming in at that time was picking up pasties, even though this place sells pizza as well. That says something. This is a carryout place, no seating. You have your choice of a pasty with or without rutabaga (we chose with), but they don't offer gravy or ketchup. We were out of gravy, but we still had some ketchup packets in the car, so we used those. This pasty was slightly different in that the dough seam was on the top instead of along the edge. Again, it was filled with lightly seasoned beef, onions, potatoes and rutabaga. It was delicious and filling, even though I only ate half. Service was friendly, and the signage on the building makes this place visible from 4 different directions. If you're not from Michigan, this is a nice place to pick up something a little different to eat. 20/2025

I only get there a couple times a year, as I am from out of town and have a summer lake house in the area. It has been consistently excellent for as long as I can remember. Do be aware that it is only carryout. Below are some stand outs: First of all, any sauce that you choose will be delicious. I have tried them all. - Ravioli, particularly the meat ravioli. Large and delicious. I like to have them with the garlic red sauce, but beware, they do not mess around with the quantity of garlic in that sauce. - Lasagna, it's amazing. Different from other lasagna I have had or made myself. The best thing on the menu in my opinion. - Fried gnocchi, do not skip the fried gnocchi. lightly breaded and soft as a pillow in the middle. You must try it.
