TL;DR if you were looking for a sign to hire Dan from Grout Doctor, this is it!!! Dan made our…read moreshower feel and look like a fancy hotel shower! I bought a townhome in 2022 and the previous owners were super dirty and the shower was no exception. We did our best to clean it when we moved in and eventually accepted the dirty floors and grout. The shower was badly caulked and mold got under the silicone in every corner and I hated looking at it. Tried to scrape off the old caulk myself but it took way too long and I realized the grout underneath was crumbling. Called Dan, he answered immediately and sent me an estimate. Dan is super friendly and gave me a lot of details on the work he would do on the shower. I had reached out to another company about it but honestly they were super curt and I didn't get the warm fuzzies from them, unlike when we spoke to Dan. But WOW - the attention to detail. Dan cleaned and scrubbed every inch of the shower, including the glass. And he got some very tricky stains off of the shower knob and the floor. He added new grout wherever it was needed - in the exact color match too. He also added sealant all over and a special caulk with sand in it that will flex as the house expands and contracts to prevent the grout from cracking. I just used my shower after the 32 hour dry period and it was absolutely amazing. It felt clean and new and because of the sealant Dan applied, all the water beaded up nicely and I can tell it will make the shower super easy to clean. Absolutely stoked, I've had a lot of contractors in and out to fix the place up in the past 2 years but this is one job that I'm probably the most excited for. And the price was very reasonable!! Thank you SO much Dan!!!

Like father like son, Randy is the 5th generation expert in tiling, grout services and installations. I called late on a Friday and left a message but Randy called me in less than 30 minutes. I needed a shower re-grouted and sealed. We exchanged my needs, his proposal and he said he'd have a man there Monday morning. Monday Leo arrived on the hour and had everything he needed when I met him at the door. While there Leo pointed out small cracks and seams I had never noticed. As he walked out he described the proper maintenance cycle to optimize grout life. I settled the bill with Zelle. I don't know how old Randy is but I'm over 70. Hoping Wilshire Tile will BE HERE FOR ME AT LEAST UNTIL I'M 100!

The tile in one bathroom was discolored, and he said it could be cleaned and sealed, and we needed tile flooring in our other bathroom replaced. Randy was friendly and approachable, and I planned to see how the smaller project went before hiring him for the larger project we needed tackled. Unfortunately, the experience was awful. A subcontractor/employee showed up on the agreed date to clean and seal the tile, and spent a couple of hours what sounded like physically scraping the tile - not what I expected. His coworker showed up a couple hours later, and told me that this plan was not going to work - that even if they could get the tile clean and seal it, the staining would come right back. He told me to have them leave, because Randy would still charge me for them being there. I went in the bathroom after they left, and it literally looked no different except there was dust everywhere - they did not clean up. I waited for a follow-up call or email from Randy - nothing. I was mad, but decided to put it behind me. A week later, I received a bill. I wrote a very frank email to Randy explaining my disappointment with the workers sent, the fact that no work was even done, and my confusion that he didn't even bother contacting me afterward. He apologized profusely and said he would follow up with me the next day. He did not follow up with me about the work, ever. But I have still been getting bills from this company!! I have emailed him multiple times, and he's told me to ignore them, but that is not an acceptable response - every time I see one of these emails, I am newly angry about the time I wasted on this endeavor. I gave him plenty of time and opportunity to make this right, and he did not even bother to try. I am writing this review because once again, I have gotten an invoice for this "work". Would not recommend.

He provided an estimate within two days of me reaching out and us discussing the problem and his recommended solution. I had to buy the materials for the job (tile, grout and trim) but that was fine with me as it was stated up front. I was able to double check the exact materials with him. We weren't able to have Garik and his team come until 2 months later (due to our own reasons) but he and his team showed up on time and ready to go. Because our backsplash has a herringbone pattern, they had to cut a lot of the tile pieces to properly fit the space (poor guy came in and out so many times I lost count). The end result though is a BEAUTIFUL cohesive backsplash. We love it. We also had a separate shower tile grout crack that I wanted Garik to look at when he was here. He explained the reasoning for the crack and provided a couple of solutions. We decided to move forward with one of them (for an additional pre-approved amount) and he drove all the way to Home Depot to buy the materials and fix the crack. It looks great actually and we appreciated the extra effort! LA traffic is no joke. I reached out to a lot of tile companies and I felt like I got the best service from Garik and his team from beginning to end. Would highly reco and would absolutely use them again. Thank you!
