If you are looking for tile repair, do yourself a favor and call Mike. He responded promptly, communicated clearly, gave a fair price, was on time, and did an excellent job. Mike does amazing tile work. He floated the whole shower which is a level of craftsmanship you are not usually getting these days. He helped us plan the project and made helpful suggestions along the way. He was always right on time and kept a very clean work area. I cannot recommend Mike Reed Tile enough! He recently tiled my children's small bathroom, which was honestly a complete eyesore before he arrived. Mike helped completely transform the space--his workmanship is extremely meticulous, with every line, cut, and detail done to perfection. You can tell he truly takes pride in what he does. I also want to highlight his helper, Dolores, who is just as impressive. He is meticulous, hardworking, and incredibly clean. Together, they make an amazing team, and their attention to detail shows in every part of the finished bathroom. Communication was great from start to finish. Mike kept me updated throughout the project, showed up to the job site daily, worked efficiently, and left everything clean and organized at the end of each day. The bathroom looks exactly as I imagined, which says a lot since I am very type A. I cannot wait to hire them again for my primary bathroom! read more

Knowledgeable and reasonable - squeezed in a very small repair job. Would definitely recommend.

Highly recommend Mike for your tile needs! He went above & beyond, excellent communication, super helpful with recommendations, and arrived on time! I had a small bathroom that needed updating and after Mike was done, it looks completely brand new! I'll definitely be reaching out to him for any future jobs and recommending him to friends & family read more

I knew Mike had a good talent for tile when he mentioned where on the wall the thought it was best to start the pattern. I had reviewed photos of other tile guys where it was clear that they just started on one end and finished at the other, making for some uneven middle parts. Mike had the design foresight. He also made suggestions for me about a wonky outlet I have, but ultimately we decided we couldn't move it. Other people who gave me quotes had no clue what to do with it. He's also clearly a cat dad and respected my rules about when the cats could and couldn't go out and had no problem with one cat supervising his entire job. I'm extremely happy with the finished product, his price was great, he cleaned up after himself, and he was always perfectly on time. If I ever need another tile job, Mike will be my first call. read more

Mike immediately responded when I reached out to get my bathroom tile redone due to a leak. He came the next day and helped me figure out what would be the best tile. Once he started he was respectful of my home and cleaned up when done. Tile looks great and sub floor that was destroyed from water was replaced as well. I have an all-tiled shower and needed to replace my shower floor due to peeling tiles. I was worried that I would have to redo the whole shower, but Mike was able to redo just the floor. He purchased matching and more resilient tiles and installed them to match the design that was there before. He asked me if he could reposition the drain cover to make it look better, and I agreed. The result is beautiful. Mike is a skilled craftsman, easy to communicate with and all around nice guy. This is the second job he's done for me and I will definitely call him again for any future tile work. read more

We had other tile experts asses the problem, they advised us to re-tile the whole shower. Im so glad we waited for Mike, he fixed the problem. at a fraction of the cost. Steller 5 stars! Neighbors had praised him on Nextdoor and boy were they right. Mike did an amazing job laying natural slate across my bathroom slab floor. His price was right. His knowledge of tile and stone, honed by years of experience, you could see it in action watching Mike and Deloris at work. Those two guys' teamwork made it look so precise and smooth. Mike is easy to talk to and full of creative ideas. And one more thing, besides being a master of his art, Mike is a good-natured happy guy. Mike Reed re-did my guest bathroom and I'm thrilled with the results. He re-tiled the shower walls, shower floor and the bathroom floor. I found Mike on Yelp. He is a true craftsman. I was sold when I saw his photos. Especially the ones of his own bathroom, which he restored to its period correct late '40s/early '50s state. Amazing work. Bonus: he is also a super nice guy. When I decided to GC my own kitchen remodel, people told me it wasn't a good idea. But thanks to contractors like Mike, it turned out much better than if I'd gone with a GC. Mike installed Fireclay tile, which is handmade and irregular. He was able to do the 1/16 joints we wanted by using little plastic wedges to make up for the irregularities in the tile. He used Mapei Ultracolor Plus FA grout per my request. It was precision work and turned out perfect. I wish I had some more stuff tile. Mike is the only tiler I would ever call. read more

Mike did an amazing job. He put in new subway tile for my shower with an accent tile and also made a really nice backsplash for my sink. The soapbox with it's thick glass shelf looked really nice as well. He was very helpful in explaining the whole process and even made some suggestions on how to make the whole thing even better. Most of the quotes I got from others were companies where they subcontract out the work, but Mike and his assistant Dolores were the ones who did all of the work on my bathroom and it was very clear that they take pride in what they do because the work was impeccable. His price was also very reasonable. I would highly recommend Mike Reed Tile without any hesitation! read more

If you are reading this you've either found out or are about to find out very quickly that good tile professionals in the LA area are unicorns. My front porch tile was lifting because the previous person who installed it didn't install it correctly and also didn't know anything about cutting tiles and it looked horrible. Also, full disclosure, that person was me, haha! Needless to say, tile work is not my forte in life and it was really getting to be an embarrassing mess not to mention a safety hazard. I've been wanting to do this project for a year and I've contacted at least 20 people, some on yelp and some referrals. I can count on one hand the number of people that actually responded and even fewer the number of people who actually followed through on coming out for an estimate and then sent the estimate (why someone would come out and then not send an estimate is beyond me but I digress.) Mike responded to my inquiry in a timely manner and was very up front with his availability which was about 2-3 months out. He came out for an estimate within a week and I had the estimate that weekend. It was more than fair for the scope of the project. I gave the project the green light and asked Mike to put me on his schedule as soon as possible and he agreed. As luck would have it, he was able to squeeze me in much earlier than expected and he and Delores worked diligently for three days to do the demo, laying the tile and grout. They ran a clean job site with zero trash left over and kept their radio at at a level where it could only be heard on the porch (something me working from home and my neighbors appreciated!) On the 4th day (Saturday) I had a charity yardsale scheduled at my house at 8AM and Mike showed up at 6:30 to complete the sealant so he wouldn't be doing it in the middle of the chaotic sale! If that isn't amazing service, I don't know what is! (He also bought some stuff at the sale to support dog rescue - thanks Mike!) One final note: For someone that is such a terrible tile person, I'm a little picky with tile work and Mike delivered. His corners and edges look fantastic which is not always a given. He even made the uneven corner on my porch look great! Do not hesitate to hire Mike! Even if he's booked, he's worth the wait! He's a true craftsman and a very good person! read more

Mike is a true craftsman! I was looking to freshen up a bathroom by tiling an entire wall. I had a few general contractors over before I found Mike. They wanted to tear everything down to the studs and trash my beloved vintage blue bathroom fixtures. Maybe that works for flipping homes, but I prefer "functionally classic". So Mike was a godsend, he clearly understood my vision! After waiting 6 weeks to take delivery of the handmade tiles, Mike and Delores diligently tiled the wall over 3 days, and the result is incredible. Photos don't capture the magic. I would highly recommend Mike Reed Tile and eagerly await calling him to tile another bathroom! read more

Mike is a life saver. Our last contractor decided to quit in the middle of the job rather than to do it correctly and left me without a bathroom. I was devastated and not sure that anyone else would be able to pick up a messy project in the middle of a super busy season!!! As I was looking at Yelp reviews, I was lucky to find Mike Reed, so I called the business number listed and texted the cell number that it asked to contact. To my amazement, Mike responded to my text immediately and gave me tons of advice before even coming out here for an estimate! Even though he was booked months ahead, I was happy to wait. Imagine how lucky and grateful I was to have him come much much earlier, as a spot suddenly opened up, and help me!! Mike is an incredible professional - he is thorough, very detail oriented, he works with precision of a surgeon and creative mastery of an artist. He and Dolores were very meticulous and precise in placing every tile, and despite our old house where no walls or ceilings are ever perfect, they were able to make everything level and plumb and beautiful. They anticipated and planned every step and payed attention to details and alerted me to any potential decisions that needed to be made. Unlike other contractors out there, Mike only works on one project at a time. You and your project are his priority and he will be there every day until the work is done. He and Dolores are the only people who will be working at your house and that is super important. When you look at other Yelp reviews, ask those contractors if they are working on your house themselves- you will be amazed that often the people who show up to give you estimates will not be the ones doing the work. In Mike's case - he is there for all of it, and it makes a ton of difference! Mike is licensed and certified and he knows (AND FOLLOWS) all the rules of ceramic tile work - from prepping the surface, to materials used, to how to do that work. Mike and Dolores are such a pleasure to work with - they are truly the nicest men you will ever meet - super friendly and kind. They are fast and efficient and the work space is clean, you don't even feel like any renovations are going on when they are working. They come in exactly when they say and they do an amazing quality work. When I could not decide on the exact tile to put in a given spot on the floor or the choice of grout, they were encouraging and patient and allowed me to make my choices without rushing me or stressing me out, unlike other contractors. They put up with my questions and my ever present lurking around, as I admired their work and they had a great attitude! Mike is reliable, skilled, organized, super knowledgeable and does beautiful work. I wish I found him 6 months ago, would have spared me a lot of stress! I will not use anyone else for my tile projects in the future. I just wish I could find other trade professionals as amazing as he is! Can't wait for him to come back and do more tile work at my home. read more

Couldn't possibly be happier with our experience with Mike Reed Tile. Mike and Dolores re-tiled a shower and added a backsplash in our kitchen. They are expert craftspeople---precise, meticulous, and efficient. They were super conscientious about our space and a pleasure to work with personally as well. We have some house lopsidedness that entailed cutting tiles at different dimensions, and everything was done perfectly with the greatest attention to detail. Communication and punctuality were A+. The final products look absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended. read more

Mike is the best. He is professional, reasonable and knows what he is doing. So we bought a house with a renovated kitchen that was great except for a tile backsplash that was so hideous I couldn't live with it. Mike chipped out the existing tile without damaging any countertops or cabinets and installed new tile. He helped me solve a couple small issues unique to the job and had great advice. He also put in a tile foyer and a tile bathroom floor. Mike worked with my other contractors to ensure the tile floors were totally level with wood floors and were the perfect height for a new front door. He also was flexible to time his work around the electrician. Mike's bid was fair and competitive and he went above and beyond. Lastly, he's a really nice guy and a pleasure to work with. I could not be happier with the result. read more

Mike Reed and his team were wonderful to work with, and did such a great job on our kitchen floor tiling, we had them do our bathroom floor tiling as well. Mike not only is a great craftsman, he has great taste and helped recommend a very cool slate grey grout color to complement our greenish kitchen tile. We also appreciated his attention to detail in dble checking the tile installation instructions - and used the manufacturer recommended products versus defaulting to the brand that he generally uses. Not only were we impressed with Mike's work, our general contractor (GC) was also impressed. We had received a quote from him for our bathroom floor tiling when we thought Mike would not be available. Our GC's tile person suggested we get a larger bathroom tile due to the difficulty of using a smaller tile on our uneven floor. This wasn't even an issue that came up in any discussion with Mike. We didn't have to compromise what we wanted. When our GC saw the finished bathroom tile floors, he asked for Mike's name and contact info. A testament to his craftsmanship from the professional trade perspective. We would welcome Mike back without hesitation for any tile work big or small. read more

I am a huge fan of Mike Reed and his tile business. Before I contacted Mike, I had hired contractors to throw up a backsplash for us in the new bar area that we created in our dining room. They struggled because small herringbone is very touchy and it has to be carefully set. Mike came in with his team and carefully laid out the project. He overestimated how long it would take but I knew it would take at least a few days. He quoted a fair price and so he went to work the next day. My wife and I are just amazed how great this looks but I'll post a picture so you can be the judge yourself. I would recommend Mike to anyone with any tile project. He's also very handy with other stuff but I don't think he wants to do other stuff for work. He is just a nice guy, and very helpful, beginning to end. read more

We needed to hire several contractors after we moved into our new house, and Mike was the best of all of them. We contracted him to install a backspash in our new kitchen, using brick tile that we had purchased. It was a tricky job, because there were some oddities in our kitchen layout and our window was making things awkward, but Mike was able to lay out a beautifully finished space that we absolutely love. He was prompt, efficient, friendly, quiet, clean, and his prices were very reasonable. He embodied pretty much everything you would want from a tile contractor. We replaced a bay window in our kitchen with a slider, not realizing it would create a big gap in the granite countertop by the sink. We talked to window installers, framers, contractors, and dry wall repairers about finishing the install and no one wanted to touch it as the job was too complicated and they couldn't figure out how to approach it. We lived with the unframed window and a gaping hole to the outside for months as we looked for some solution. Since we had to do something about the granite, we decided to keep the granite countertop, but replace the backsplash with tile. We found Mike on Yelp and he saved the day. Mike Reed Tile - New tile backsplash and window frame. - Tiling Near Me - Tarzana, California

Thank goodness we found Mike on Yelp. We were remodeling our kitchen after a leak, and the general contractor working with the insurance company just was not up to par on their work. The general contractor did not hire people that specifically did tile work to do the backsplash in our kitchen, so at the end, we ended up with poorly cut tiles, huge grout lines between some tiles, and then thin lines between others. It really just looked a mess. Mike came in and was able to fix the tiles that were the most glaringly obvious and we also then asked him to do the backsplash by our bar area instead of having the general contractor do it. Night and day! The bar backsplash that Mike did is what I wished our kitchen backsplash looked like all along! If you're someone like me that pays attention to the details and notices things that aren't straight, etc., then you'll want to work with Mike. He was responsive, on time, and followed up with me as the project progressed. Looking forward to working with him on future projects. read more
