What a wonderful experience start to finish! Not to me mention, the cost was competitive to tile our living, laundry and bathroom downstairs. We were easily able to work with Garik remotely on our Bel Air rental, from selecting tile, grout, deposit payments, scheduling and access to the property . We felt secure as he is very honest and in constant communication throughout the process and past completion, making sure we were highly satisfied. Garik goes above and beyond to provide excellent customer care beyond his quality flooring tile work. Also, kept the work space clean and is the most polite and professional! I found him on Yelp and his reviews exceed the 5 star experience. I am grateful to have used Modern Tile and highly recommend that you do too! read more

We had the folks at Modern Tile come out and do some tile work on our fireplace. They were incredibly professional. The previous contractor had used the wrong material and as a result some of the tile was falling off or loose. The folks at Modern Tile provided recommendations and addressed the issue at a reasonable and fair price. In addition they were willing to address some bathroom grout issues as well. I would gladly recommend them to others and plan on using them in the future. read more

Garik was professionial and patient from the moment I reached out for a quote. We had a very unique case where we wanted one part of our backsplash redone due to a botched job from a previous contractor. He provided an estimate within two days of me reaching out and us discussing the problem and his recommended solution. I had to buy the materials for the job (tile, grout and trim) but that was fine with me as it was stated up front. I was able to double check the exact materials with him. We weren't able to have Garik and his team come until 2 months later (due to our own reasons) but he and his team showed up on time and ready to go. Because our backsplash has a herringbone pattern, they had to cut a lot of the tile pieces to properly fit the space (poor guy came in and out so many times I lost count). The end result though is a BEAUTIFUL cohesive backsplash. We love it. We also had a separate shower tile grout crack that I wanted Garik to look at when he was here. He explained the reasoning for the crack and provided a couple of solutions. We decided to move forward with one of them (for an additional pre-approved amount) and he drove all the way to Home Depot to buy the materials and fix the crack. It looks great actually and we appreciated the extra effort! LA traffic is no joke. I reached out to a lot of tile companies and I felt like I got the best service from Garik and his team from beginning to end. Would highly reco and would absolutely use them again. Thank you! read more

We wanted to upgrade our living room fireplace to give it a modern look with tile. Demolition had been done but the rest of the job could not be completed at the time. We needed to find someone to restart the project, and based on many 5-star reviews in Yelp, we chose Modern Tile. We called Garik, and he came by that same evening to give us an estimate. We hired him immediately. The next day, Garik and his father started the work. They leveled and framed all the sides and covered everything with backer boards. They then cut and installed the tile we had purchased. The job was finished within 3 days, and the results are amazing. Everybody who has seen the fireplace totally loves it. We are very pleased, and highly recommend Modern Tile. read more

So, my initial thought when re-doing my kitchen was to save money and use vinyl peel-and-stick tiles as a backsplash. Shortly after we starting using our air fryer more and more, we realized that the adhesive was failing! When that failed, we used my father-in-law's handyman to install subway tile, buuuuut, it was apparent that tile was not his strong suit when it took him almost 6 hours to do a 3 ft stretch... The rest of the work he did was definitely sub-par, and when I went to get a quote to have Garrik and Modern Tile do the grout, he pointed out that there would need to be some significant rework before the grout could be applied. Despite the increase in cost, Modern Tile did an AMAZING JOB! My wife and I absolutely love it and couldn't be happier! I highly recommend Modern Tile and will probably be using them for any and all tiling work I have in the future. read more

Modern Tile recently completed my bathroom remodel, and the entire experience was excellent from start to finish. Communication was clear and consistent throughout the project. I highly recommend giving Gerik a call. I am a shopper and very detail oriented, and working with Gerik was easy from start to finish. He is patient, accommodating, and communicates well throughout the process. The quality of the work was excellent, and Gerik was on site consistently, personally handling the plumbing and overseeing the other work. His dad completed the tile work and is a true craftsman. Their company demoed my bathroom, including the shower, and rebuilt it exactly to my vision. The finished space includes beautiful floor and shower tile, a floating vanity, and all of the necessary fixtures, executed cleanly and professionally. I am not an experienced contractor, so there were things I had to figure out along the way. Gerik was very helpful in walking me through decisions and making sure nothing was overlooked. That support made a big difference for me as a homeowner. I will be posting photos soon, but I did not want to delay this review any longer. For other homeowners considering a bathroom remodel, here are a few things I learned that may help. Decide on your trim pieces and colors early, especially tile edging. Choose grout colors carefully and have your shower and sink fixtures in hand ahead of time so you can confirm finishes match, especially with gold tones. Ferguson Home was the best showroom I found for selection and knowledgeable help, but you do need an appointment. If you are considering a smart bidet toilet, do your research, some models are larger than standard toilets, though compact options do exist. If walls are open, consider relocating outlets for best placments, and make sure your vanity light will be centered if your new vanity size changes. Also, you may need bullnose tile that you did not originally order, so plan for that. After returning a shower door to Home Depot, I spent a little more and used Legendary Glass out of Moorpark for a more custom, premium, amazing shower door. Overall, I am very happy with the experience and the final result. Call Gerik. read more

True craftsmanship, high level of aesthetic and attention to detail! I hired Modern Tile to do our kitchen backsplash after having a no show contractor. Garik and his father showed up on time and completed our backsplash in 1 day, working straight through till it was done. I was not only impressed by their artistry, but at how focused they were. We were so happy with their work, we reached out again for our bathroom remodel and especially loved the idea that we would be hiring this awesome father son duo and not have random workmen coming in and out of our house. What was so impressive is they wanted to begin and complete the project in 7 consecutive days. The results were stellar! We really appreciated their punctuality (which sadly, seems to be rare these days), communication in offering options each step of the way and far exceeding our expectations. Garik also went above and beyond to accommodate some of my additional add ons throughout the project. Their pricing is beyond fair and the finished product looks like a million bucks - perfect and absolutely gorgeous! Already thinking of more projects we can use them on - great experience - couldn't have asked for more! read more

We had a huge disaster in our house that required our bathroom to be demolished. I contacted Modern Tile and Garik responded quickly via Yelp and was able to give me an estimate with pictures and a short discussion on what needed to be done. After that, he came over and we discussed the details and he was ready to work just a few days later. We pretty much needed our entire shower demolished and retiled, or floor retiled, and holes in the wall patched. Demo took about a day, and the rest took about a week- he was on time and communicated with us the whole way through. I'm very happy with the results and the shower looks amazing! read more

I want to start by saying I did not use modern tile for a specific project, rather I contacted them and they were by far and away the most helpful and in-depth with their response back to me. My husband and I had about 200 square feet of damaged terracotta tile from previous contractors and upon requesting quotes and sending pictures around, we had a very difficult time getting an answer with what to do. Modern tile doesn't offer the repair service we requested, but Garik provided us a detailed response laying out the steps we would need to take to fix the tiles and said that while they would install new tile if we chose to, they would recommend finding someone to strip and reseal the tiles. Based on the level of care they provided someone who wasn't even going to use their services, I wouldn't hesitate to contact them when we need future floors put in our place. I have saved their contact and will certainly be reaching out for the second part of our remodel! read more

I had the misfortune of finding out after several years of drought that the two balconies and front porch tile replacements done 7 years ago were done horribly and once we had real winters, the balconies leaked still. I searched, found and clicked with Garik last month and gave him the project to do over again. His price was very reasonable considering what had to be done to get it right, finally, and with my OCD, and micro managed everything, I was extremely happy with what was being done Everything looks great, and while we still need to experience a wet winter to be certain he's earned my 5 stars, I have faith in Garik, his dad and the job they did. read more

We hired Modern Tile to do demo on 2 of our old granite fireplaces and install new tile on the wall and floor in a herringbone pattern. Garik and his father did an outstanding job on what was definitely a complex and detailed project and we are thrilled with the results. They were incredibly easy to work with, professional, communicative, and kind. Amazing work ethic and very talented. A smooth experience with a contractor which was a great relief! Modern Tile did a fantastic job replacing porcelain tile in a kitchen of a Pasadena Bungalow. The project went smoothly from the initial estimate to the finished floor. I received two other estimates that were a bit over the top that made this small job seem like a big undertaking that would take days and I was warned of all the potential problems that could arise while doing the work. Modern Tile came in and knocked it out beautifully and quickly without any issues. They were precise, professional and ensured I was 100% pleased before they left. Definitely recommend! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Garik and the guys from Modern Tile. After I completed the demo of my bathroom, I realized that this was a job for professionals, not a DIY weekend job. After speaking with Garik and going over the plan and schedule, he made it all come together. He showed up on time, remained in constant communication, made sure the work being done while he wasn't here was acceptable, gave design ideas and ultimately made our dream bathroom a reality.
