I have never written a review on a business before until today, but the men at Group Micro Computer in Westwood by UCLA really deserve to be known to all of you for any of your computer tech related repairs, etc. For my business I would describe myself as a road warrior. I prepare presentations and get documents signed at my customer's business addresses. I travel with a portable color printer and I work from my car - a virtual office that allows me to make sales wherever I go. One day I had a problem and my hard drive crashed. I am sure that all of you know the horror that crept into my mind. Although I back up nightly to the cloud, you never know whether you really have your information until you find out that you do or you don't. Sevada and Fabio at GroupMicro Computers on Broxton, walking distance from UCLA demonstrated the kind of customer service that the big box stores and other national chain repair companies seem to have forgotten. I needed them to treat my problem like it was their problem, and not like a problem that they could over charge me for and careless whether they would see me again. They took my laptop understood my problem and told me to call them later that night. When I called, they told me what the problem was, what I needed to repair it, and they gave me both a total and time to pick it up. When I picked, the lap top up the next day they told me to take it home, see how it was performing and if there was anything not right, documents or programs missing, to check my pictures, videos, printer connections, etc. Why I am writing this review is that the degree of professionalism and their sincere concern for my satisfaction is lost in today's ecommerce world and has been lost for the past ten years as technology has taken on the huge role in our lives that it has. Two honest, caring, dedicated business professionals to customer service and satisfaction without the pressure to upsell, over charge, or make you feel like you were just taken advantage of is rare to find in today's economy. If you have any technology related issues, Apple, IBM, phones, etc., they do it all and you will not be disappointed. These guys are great!! I spilled water on my Macbook Air while I was working and my computer immediately shut down. I panicked for a few minutes and then called Applecare to see what was included with insurance. Unfortunately, NOTHING was covered, at least not anything accidental (i.e. water damage). Apple was willing to work on my computer for 5-7 business days and an outrageous flat fee of $750 that made me feel like I should just buy a new computer. After panicking a little more, I started calling around and found this place. I think I spoke to about 10 different repair shops and not only did Group Micro Computers & iPhone Repair have some of the best prices, they also had the best reviews!! I felt comfortable and decided to make the drive up from Long Beach so they could take a look. I dropped my computer off Saturday afternoon and to my surprise, they had completely fixed it as well as recovered ALL of the data I was working on at the time, in just one day! What was even better is that they were open on Sunday too, and I didn't have to sit in crazy LA traffic on Monday to come pick up my computer. I almost never write reviews, but I think its hard to find good and honest independent service repair shops; however, these guys really are just that!! I was having one of those Mondays.... everything was going wrong. When my iPhone decided to jump out of my hands, over a stairwell, and then tumble down 2 flights of concrete stairs, my bad day turned into absolute tragedy. It was shattered-- front and back; cracked in ways I never knew an iPhone could crack. You've got to love those few moments of confusion and panic when your phone is obsolete-- cant make a phone call, cant text, cant look up the nearest phone or repair store, no directions, no siri... how did we ever live without these things, by the way?! I needed a phone and I needed a phone fast. I had client appointments in 40 minutes, and the day was too packed after that to get anything done. I could not have had a better turn-around. I was directed to Group Micro Computers in Westwood, a short walk from where my iPhone committed suicide. I was greeted by Sevada, whose cool calm quelled my escalating anxiety. He took the disaster that was left of my phone and calmly told me to walk away and come back in 40 minutes. I took a walk, came back in 30 minutes, and it was done! My iPhone 8 plus had taken a dive into the ocean over the previous weekend for a good minute before the lifeguard was able to go down and retrieve it. This happened over the weekend, so two whole days had passed before I was able to get help with my phone (on a Tuesday). The battery had corroded and I'm pretty sure there were a lot of other things damaged inside of my phone. People said it was hopeless and that I needed to start looking into buying a new phone. I took the chance to see if there was a place that could completely repair my phone AND keep my data. I was so nervous and worked up for the results. I was able to get my phone completely repaired, on and working, old data was still there, and it seemed like a brand new phone, but it wasn't. If I didn't have good memory, I wouldn't be able to tell that my phone had massive water damage! I knew there had to be a way to save my phone, so I am so glad I didn't give up. Okay when my phone exploded when I dropped it on the ground I seriously thought I would have to buy a brand new Motorola DROID Razr Maxx. So I was actually referred to this place by the local Verizon store and I remember one of my friends mentioning the place in passing. Anyway, from the moment I walked in the guys were extremely helpful and it looked like they were very concerned with the status of my phone. They quickly looked up what was needed and told me that they would order the part and help me out as quickly as they could. What really surprised me though was that a few days later, they realized that I had an older model and Verizon had sent the wrong piece. They said that they wouldnt charge me for the wrong piece and had already ordered the next piece to make sure that I got my phone back as soon as possible. When my iPhone 6S shattered, so did my heart. For the next few weeks I played the procrastination game and put off getting my screen fixed, dealing with spiderwebs across all the games and splinters in my fingers - all because I HATE getting my screen fixed. It's expensive, it's inconvenient, and it's Apple's ploy to squeeze yet another few hundred out of your already sparse bank account. Or at least that's what I thought until I met my hero, my angel Sevada. He greeted us promptly, gave us complete transparency about cost, and fixed my screen (and my heart) all within 30 minutes. When we left, wholly satisfied and happy, he called out after us that he threw on a warranty free of charge and also invited us to come back for a complimentary screen cover. Had an emergency business trip last month in LA. As usual bad things happen to electronics when you need them the most, with that said I would like to share A little story of how my MacBook decided to crash on me within an hour of me landing. The meeting was not for another couple of hours so I had time I did a quick Google search and I found this place. Not only were they able to fix my MacBook within an hour but they were able to do so while keeping all of my documents pictures videos data and all the other information on my Drive. While I was waiting I remembered my iPhone six front camera had something in it that cause my picture to come out blurry. They were able to fix my laptop within 4 hours! I went to Apple Store earlier today, but I wasted for three hours because I did not get any chance to meet a technician. I had to visit somewhere far away the next day for four days, and my summer session would begin next week; I had been really desperate of fixing my macbook which did not show any sign of power since Monday. Technicians from Group Micro initially told me to come back the next day for a result, but after listening to my circumstance, they decided to start fixing it asap. The problem was the battery that had not been replaced ever since I bought this laptop three years ago, so it eventually stopped working. They gave me an useful advice of when to change the battery by using macintosh info. They really saved me from this dire circumstance. I came across this store after searching on yelp. After I read all the great reviews, I called the store and got a good feeling right away. They said come in, and they would be happy to help I went to the store because my MacBook Pro wouldn't turn on, and I had two people from s different store try to repair it and failed..I was pleasantly surprised when as soon as I walked in the staff came and helped me right away. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I was extremely worried that even if they were able to repair it I was about to leave on a flight to FL that evening; however, they assured me they would have it fixed in plenty of time. I was happy and grateful when they had it running perfect with more than enough time to spare. I am happy to report that my MacBook is still running perfect. I highly recommend this store. read more

When the repair shop Computer City on Westwood told me that my MacBook's motherboard was fried, they referred me to Sevada, owner of Group Micro, who hooked me up with a fantastic used Mac at a price that other places had quoted me for much lesser machines. Everything I found online was going to take a week or more to be delivered, but he set me up AND cloned my old hard drive that same afternoon. I was expecting to have to wait at least a day, then he called at 5:30 and said I could come pick it up, he said he knew I was stressed out because I needed it for work so he wanted to get it to me as fast as he could. I also bought one of the hard shell laptop cases he designed and sells. I have an iPhone 6 that obtained water damage and I needed to recover some data on my phone. I first went to the store at UCLA and they were totally useless and they told me they don't deal with iPhone 6. I searched around the LA area and found Group micro. I called in to check if they would get the data off of my iPhone 6 and they were very nice as well as answered all of my questions that I asked. I then visited Group Micro and I met Sevada and his team, very amazing people and was amazed that I asked just for data recovery but they could fix my water damage iPhone 6 as well. They fixed it and in a timely manner and I am very proud of the work they did. This store is not only stocked to the teeth with electronic supplies, but it also has excellent customer service! I came into the store with a broken screen on my Nexus 4, and they were able to repair the phone THE SAME DAY, while its nearby competitors would take a week and quoted me double the price. After two to three hours, I picked up the phone and it was working perfectly. To top it off, they offered me a 90 day warranty. I then left the store and three days later something was wrong with my phone, and I had no idea why. I then returned to Group Micro and they fixed the phone in 30 minutes with no questions asked! Absolutely amazing service and price. My phone's LCD screen was damaged and I was worried that it was not fixable. They were able to fix it at a great price that was cheaper than any of the other stores I had tried to go to and now my screen is actually clearer than before it was damaged. I am a UCLA student and they were so grateful that I came in and I would recommend them to any of my friends as the only place to go for broken technology. I would not even try anywhere else as they were so friendly and fun to talk to while I waited for my phone to be fixed and very patient when I had questions. I was really impressed with the service I received here. The LCD screen on my iPhone SE was very badly broken. Seveda was really honest in explaining what was wrong with it and helpful in deciding which repair to go with. The repair only took about an hour and I only paid $99; for reference everywhere else was quoting around $150. Before I took it in, I couldn't see the picture on 1/4 of my phone, the colors were bleeding, and the images would flicker. Now everything works wonderfully! He even through in a screen protector for being on yelp! There is also a warranty on their work which helped put me at ease when choosing a store. I am hoping that I don't have to come back here again with a broken phone, but I am recommending it to my friends for sure. read more

Amazing customer service! I called a couple of weeks ago after going to the Apple store because my computer was running slow. After Apple told me I needed more memory, I started researching where to get more RAM installed. This was the first place that actually suggested upgrading my computer to an SSD drive to improve its performance rather than memory. They seemed genuinely invested in making sure my Mac Book Pro was running at the highest performance capable for what I need to use my computer for. Everyone was super nice and really made sure I was happy with what I was getting. After getting my Macbook serviced and picked up in the same afternoon I can say I am really happy with how my computer turned out! Five stars all the way! read more

This place is amazing!!!! I had coffee spilt on my MacBook and sent it to the ucla store for a diagnosis- they came back to me with a $1390 servicing charge and there was no way I was gonna fork that money out. So I went to group micro which specializes in MacBook repairs and the service was amazing! They told me how ridiculous it was to pay 1k and I really appreciated their honesty. They got the job done in ONE day and had really great customer service- calling me to update on the progress. It was only $800 to repair which saved me so much money- plus he gave us vouchers for free ice cream because I was so upset about it! I had an absolutely incredible experience here! My computer got liquid damage last week and I took it to the Apple Store and was shocked by their inability and unwillingness to help my situation. They ultimately told me it would be $800 flat rate to fix it. Instead, I came here to Group Micro where they were super nice and accommodating. The diagnostic test they ran was free with the repair and in total it cost me less than half of what Apple was charging! And they were able to get it all done in less than a day! I came into Group Micro after being recommended to come in by a friend who lived in the area.She said they were very efficient and had reasonable prices. The first time, I came in with a completely shattered IPhone 5 and they fixed it like new. The placing of the new screen was perfect (unlike other stores I've visited who failed to properly align the new screen) and the entire process took around 30 minutes. I am currently waiting on my newly cracked iPhone 6 to be repaired and the time estimate given to me was 30 minutes. Super fast, very accurate and friendly. I live about 30 minutes away but I wouldn't trust any other place to get my phone fixed. highly recommend! read more
