I popped into Groundwork Coffee for a TooGoodToGo order this past week and ordered a few other things, as well. Sadly, they didn't have my TGTG order of baked goods so that was cancelled. :( However, staff was very friendly here and it's a nice location for a coffee shop. It was very chill vibes with just a couple people of working so it's a good location if you are looking for a coffee shop to work or study at. I've been to Groundwork's other locations a ton and was happy the menu & drink offerings here are quite similar. My friend and I shared the bagel & lox sandwich which was tasty and enjoyable. For my drink, I went full indulgent and had a huge Viet iced coffee. I appreciate the grande sizes they offer here! Plus you can add chaga/mushroom to any drink for $3 for a nice organic boost to your day. Overall cute shop if you're in the area to pop in! Parking is near impossible but it's a great option near the touristy area of Hollywood Boulevard and the Walk of Fame. read more

It didn't hit the way when I buy it at North Hollywood location but maybe because I just got it at the wrong batch or something idk. After a recovery session at Sweatheory, I finally visited Groundwork Coffee, a spot I had seen but never tried. I was greeted immediately upon walking in. The Vietnamese iced coffee was incredible rich and strong, exactly what I needed to wake me up and fuel a productive Saturday study session. The space has a really open, inviting layout, perfect whether you are plugging away on your laptop or catching up with friends. The lighting is just right. Between the atmosphere and that coffee, I will definitely be back. read more

I was waiting in line for a kbeauty event nearby and got hungry so I asked my bf to go get some food while he got come coffee that he needed. He sent me the menu and we both agreed that the Bitches Brew Hash seemed the easiest to eat in line and sounded most delicious! Instead of poached eggs we changed it to scrambled eggs (err on the side of caution to not get food poisoning). The bowl was so so good! There was plenty of sauce and the ratios were perfect! Love this location! The location is always very clean and employees are friendly and helpful. We ordered the breakfast burrito and the vegan breakfast burrito (we are vegetarian). Personally I enjoyed the regular breakfast burrito more than the vegan burrito. But both were still very yummy! The total for two burritos and a coffee was $40, which is a bit pricey but that's LA! I was able to snatch a meter street parking spot but might be tricky to find street parking. read more

Horrible service. The barista/ cashier had some sort of an attitude and was super rude and cold, as if he didn't want us there and wanted to close up and leave. After we ordered some drinks and sat down, Dollys sing 9-5 came on and he started singing 10-3 as if to basically say it's time for us to leave although the place closed around 4 and it wasn't even 3 yet. This is my go-to whenever I'm at my LA office or in the Hollywood area. I love Groundwork because: 1) they have a great loose leaf tea selection - and I do mean great! I like black tea, so usually go with Earl Grey or English Breakfast (I prefer the Earl Grey), but they have about a dozen available. 2) ample indoor seating 3) fresh squeezed orange juice! 4) they open at 7am!!! The staff are also very friendly. I have worked from here for short while, too, while waiting for my office to open -- the brick walls do look nice on Zoom meetings :) Great spot! 2022: 116/100 read more

This place is one of my favorite coffee shops in the area, I adore it! I've been meaning to write a review for awhile. The staff is very nice, considerate and attentive. They have a great indoor space for people to sit, relax, and enjoy the vibes in. I love the wooden aesthetic look of this store. Their food is delicious and SO friendly for anyone like me who doesn't consume meat / my vegetarian and vegan friends. Everything on their menu is really good too, I've yet to try something I don't like in their list of items. My only critique is for the Groundwork company Itself and their app. It's SUPER undeveloped and doesn't have very good formatting. You can't order their entire menu on the app, only like two options are available out of their fourteen plus in-person options. So mobile ordering Is a rough experience, but if you visit this place in store it's a ten out of ten! read more

We were on our way to the airport and decided to grab some coffee at a place right around our hotel. To our surprise, Groundwork ended up being one of the better coffees and breakfasts we've had in a café. There weren't a ton of people, so the wait was quick and service was friendly. We got cold brews with a burrito bite. The burrito bite was just the perfect size for filling up till our flight and it was really delicious. Especially loved the chipotle dipping sauce it came with. I am a loyal costumer to Groundwork. I drove to this location to get my fav Beehive drink for my partner and I, that I planned my day around to get there just in time to order. I guess the two girls in the store decided to close up 17 minutes before closing time. I got there at 3:43, door was locked and closed sign was up. The print out of hour on the other side of the door says Cafe open until 4pm. The two girls in the store were closing up and ignoring me standing at the door. Really really frustrating. read more

I was in town for an exhibit at the Lighthouse. I stopped by Groundwork to fuel up beforehand. The vibe was chill and the decor was minimal. I liked all the glass windows to be able to take in all of the hustle and bustle of the street. I ordered a horchata cold brew and avocado toast. My drink was delicious. The toast was spicy and messy to eat, but I didn't mind. On my way out I used the restroom and this is when my dining experience took a wrong turn. The bathroom was so gross and dirty. I was in shock with the state in which the bathroom was in~ something that you'd expect at a rural gas station, not at a place that serves food. The sink, toilet, walls, and floors were grimy and greasy. How could staff be ok with this? If I had used the bathroom prior to ordering, I would have walked out. read more

Ok I got a iced oat milk vanilla latte with a chocolate croissant The croissant was a 8 out 10 just because I got it around 3pm so it probably wasn't as fresh. But I would have gave a 10 if he offered to warm it But that's ok. It wasn't important to me. I like to taste it as it is and it was good! The ambiance was cool Wooden chairs and tables Decent size menu I will say that their espresso is the smoothest espresso I've tasted in a long time. And I go to cafes all the time. This latte was perfectly balanced. There was just enough of milk to espresso ratio and the amount of vanilla was absolutely delicious. Service was good because the waiter dealt with me haha I can be a handful and he did his thing I would come back here just to make sure they serve them all up like this, because I literally almost ordered another latte while I was sitting there. Sunday morning I went in and the cashier (a middle aged white guy) was super rude and unfriendly. I was pleasant, polite, and said "thank you" and he would huff and puff around. Don't even get me started with demeanor while I ordered-he was impatient, & avoided eye contact. It was just a really weird experience. The nice ambiance and energy of this place is what gives it the two starts instead of one. I ordered the beehive matcha latte- one of their specialty drinks- and it is genuinely one of the worst matchas I have ever had. For $7.25 too! I knew I had made a mistake the second I saw my drink come out. The matcha must not have been whisked whatsoever- there were visible clumps throughout the entire drink. Makes sense, I didn't taste a single hint of matcha in my drink. I asked for less sweet, yet this drink still tasted like milk with a load of cinnamon. I might as well have ordered sweetened almond milk. I don't understand how they can have this drink in their specialty menu, yet not even know the basics of how to whisk matcha to avoid these endless clumps. Groundwork focuses on organic ingredients but then dispenses in paper cups - go figure. There is a pleasant sit down area to chill with your bestie and discuss the previous evening conquests. There is also food including pastries. Overall the vibe is coffee shop but the seating is metal so your sitting time may be limited.
