Very very cute coffee shop! I wasn't expecting all the plants inside. It's aesthetically pleasing and there's this calm vibe inside even during the weekends! I went for their Sour Cherry Oat Cold Brew because it sounded good, refreshing and interesting. I liked it but probably wouldn't get it again. My sister got the Blueberry Matcha and the matcha itself tasted okay but no hint of the blueberry. The turn off and reason for 3 stars was because of the sanitation. There was a fly inside where they have the pastries and we were looking forward to having a pastry but after seeing that we were like no thanks. We got the Ham and Cheese Melt with an everything bagel and it was a good snack but it also felt unappetizing after seeing the fly plus other flies inside mostly due to the plants I suppose. We parked inside the complex where it said retail parking which is a few spots. Other than that there's street parking.

This is a really lovely place and great for a meeting. I am always on the lookout for a coffee spot with adequate seating for an actual private conversation and this is IT. Parking was super easy. Their pastry case was very limited but looked lovely. I am not an artful eater during meetings so I passed but bought a packaged cookie which was delicious. Cookie and coffee was over $10. That's crazy but normal here I guess. They have a full food menu but I wish they made it more obvious - this place is minimalism to the hilt. Still, a gorgeous living wall of plants and lots of places on their sunny patio to have a conversation. If you need a meeting place in Weho/Hollywood area, this is a great choice.

I stopped in here for an afternoon coffee after visiting a nearby art gallery. Nice decor, love the cool plant wall! Very good coffee.

Excellent cappuccino , clean and modern atmosphere, good baristas, and open earlier than others in the area. Kitchen doesn't open until later though....

Our new fave place to get some work done. We live on Highland so it is a quick walk for us but they do have a parking garage for customers. There's always open places to sit both inside and outside with a restroom and free WiFi. What more do you need! My go-to is the blueberry matcha latte which is delish and my husband always gets a vanilla latte. We've also tried their caprese panini which is bomb!

10$ for a matcha latte with oat milk is ridiculous. Especially if it looks like this! I complained to the dude but he didn't seem to care. Just stated that he used the same qty that he usually uses to make it and just walked away. Next time a customer complains, the only words out of your mouth should be: "I'm sorry. May I replace it for you or offer a refund?". I apologize if your management hasn't had sufficient training to train you. Ambiance kinda sux. Small and very noisy from the busy street and they keep the doors open. I'm sure the coffee is great. But I definitely won't be back to try.

I drove past this shop about a week ago and couldn't wait to try it. This is my first coffee shop visit of 2025 and It did not disappoint! Ordered a Latte and I'll tell you right off the rip the art was beautiful and the coffee tasted great! The barista was super friendly and the shop is overall a good time. It's clean it feels open with the high ceiling and super fresh with the indoor plants! I will definitely be back soon!

One of the staff members probably shouldn't be in a customer-based field, but I'm not holding it against this place this time. I love this place! Parking in the garage is free and right there. You can enter the cafe from the parking lot or from the street. The place is cool. Small and charming with pretty blue tile tables. I loved being there and hanging out enjoying my mocha and coffee cake donut which were both very good. The gal who helped me was great. But there's a guy who was pretty sarcastic with customers, me included. When asked questions, it was like he hated having to answer them, so he'd reply with total "I don't care" sarcasm. I deducted a star for this because management should know. If this guy was the owner, they don't deserve 4 stars, but whatever. Had a nice time, enjoyed my coffee and pastry, and I'd come back.

This was my first time at Black Canvas Coffee, and I had a good experience. This cafe offers good wifi, a bathroom for customers with a code, free street parking on Sundays, and both indoor/outdoor seating. It also has a lovely ambiance, with soft music, lots of natural light, and a variety of plants throughout the cafe. I came on a Sunday around 12PM to get some work done, and there was plentiful seating, however, it was also a holiday. I ordered their signature matcha latte, and the barista, Natalie, was very kind and knowledgeable about their menu. Their latte uses ceremonial-grade matcha and charges an extra $1.50 for plant-based milk substitutions. Natalie informed me that the standard drink does not come sweetened, so I asked to sweeten it for no additional charge. The drink finished fairly quickly and came in a glass. I appreciate the effort towards waste reduction. The drink itself was a bit watery, and I did feel that the sweetener was a little strong, but the matcha flavor was still present. Overall, it is not an exceptionally special matcha latte, however, it did fulfill my matcha craving. I also ordered their matchagato, which is two scoops of vanilla ice cream with matcha on top. The ice cream was of great quality, however, I was not the biggest fan of the matcha shot on its own. Together, it was quite good, however, I was tasting more of the ice cream than the matcha, which is maybe why I enjoyed it more. However, one part of the ice cream did have some freezer burn. Overall, it seems like a great study spot, however, I did not see any outlets, so make sure to have your devices sufficiently charged before arriving. The drink I tried was average, but perhaps their talents are more present in their coffees. I would recommend this cafe for coffee chats or somewhat brief study sessions. It also offered various pastries and a food menu, however, I did not try any of these items.

Delicious coffee and dessert, a cozy atmosphere, and a very charming cashier. Definitely a place I'd come back to.

The hardest thing about paying these $8-9 drinks in LA is how terrible you feel paying that much if the drink doesn't taste good.. ...and their drinks didn't make the cut for me. I forgot which drink my fiancé got (it was the first drink on the menu) but I got their iced honey rose matcha latte. My immediate thought was how even that name had a lot going on.. but I like honey, and Rosewater, and matcha.. soo if you combined it all, it might be good, right? WRONG! I saw the barista pour a decent amount of matcha in it and even though the menu said ceremonial grade matcha, I did not taste the matcha AT ALL. Maybe the quality of the matcha isn't good? It was more like milk with rosewater and a tiny drop of honey. My fiancé's drink was just OK too. He also said he tasted more milk than anything. He hates wasting food & he's the one that paid for it but even he couldn't finish his drink. We ended up trashing our half full drinks (ice melted in the pic but the color stayed the same.. look at how light my matcha is) The breakfast items were ridiculously priced too I almost can't believe ppl pay that much ($19 for a ham & cheese croissant) for breakfast. I get it.. they're on highland so rent must be expensive but.. I would rather go to Javista a few blocks away at that point. They do have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating but sadly we will not be returning :\

I really enjoy coming to this coffee shop! There's options to sit inside or outside. Food here is phenomenal. I got the salmon on the bagel with poached egg and avocado and it was made to perfection. I've had their lattes here prior and their pastries and I've always enjoyed them! Great place to solo hang out, meet with some friends, or do some light work (no outlets so make sure to come charged)

Front: Prosciutto and Goat Cheese Toast Back: Avocado Toast

Skip the Matcha Rose Latte and get their Blueberry Maple Latte. It's a divine latte creation. If you're hungry, you could also share breakfast albeit a little pricy. The first time we came, we wanted a mini breakfast to hold us down until lunch and ordered a prosciutto and goat cheese toast and an avocado toast. Expecting nyc portions, we were happily surprised by how hefty the toast portions were and understood the price tag that came with them. Not only did they give generous portions, the toasts were tasty. I think the only thing that threw us off was that the poached egg was given in a separate bowl and not on top of the avocado toast. The poached egg was also a little overcooked so we wish we did without it. The best part of breakfast, as mentioned above, is the blueberry maple latte. Whether it's hot or iced, it still tastes amazing and you can definitely taste the blueberry. The rose matcha latte tasted like watered down matcha with too much rose syrup. I've had some great rose matcha lattes and this one did not impress. Aside from food and drink, the ambiance is chill and relaxed. The workers are friendly and there are multiple tables to sit both inside and outside the cafe. It's definitely a place where you can sit down and get some work done. I wish I could steal the blueberry maple latte recipe because it was really that good and probably the main reason I want to come back. Excuse me while I try to find a good blueberry maple latte in the jungle of specialty lattes offered in nyc. If my search fails, I'll need to find my way back just for the latte.

Now, this is what pulled us in - the sights and smells of the food being grilled outside the restaurant. Most of which was on this meme. Like a tasting menu. But for price to portion ratio, it simply isn't worth it. I ordered the skirt steak. 4 oz, cut in half. Cooked down to what looked like .5 oz! Each on a toothpick sitting in a paper plate (or maybe it was cupcake holder?) IDK. I just know it wasn't a good presentation and the taste wasn't memorable. Regular. More grill smell than taste. Not at all worth $8. Service: Really nice. And mostly good. Though they did fail short by (1) Using only small appetizer size plates and (2) Not bringing a fresh plate to eat the crab fried rice on after the peanut butter sauce laced tamale appetizer was eaten. The server brought the fried rice, but didn't bother to give us fresh plates (nor silverware). My son was mortified when I grabbed a plate from one of the empty tables! (Teenager energy on full effect). But after initial attentive service, the variety of different servers whizzing by didn't stop to ask if we needed anything. And I sat waiting at least 8 minutes staring at the rice. I assured my young man that the servers would be fine with me getting another plate to save them from having to. And once I did, he suddenly started eating from my plate of my peanut butter free fried rice. And of course, when a server did attend to us and I let her know, she was glad I took matters into my own hands instead of not eating for 15 minutes. Thoughts: Go for dinner, and order from the full dinner menu, skip the skimpy street eats menu. With reservations you can sit in the main restaurant area that has some view to the outdoors. Without it - back to the black room you go! Know that it will be expensive. And it will be original. Not sure I'll go back. It's very "special occasion" upscale dining. But If I do it'll be with reservations. The meal was memorable and worth experiencing.

My wife and I stopped here a few weekends back for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised with just how much I enjoyed the food. The ambiance here is pretty generic, white and bright and very copy and paste of a lot of places popping up recently. The staff was super friendly while taking our orders and dropping the food off, which is always appreciated. I ended up ordering the Santo's Turkey Melt which is smoked turkey, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, and chipotle aioli served on sourdough with a side of french fries. The sandwich was really good and the same can be said for the french fries and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fries given, so thumbs up to that. I forgot what the food costs so I visited the website and for some reason they don't think it's important to put that online, which is pretty darn stupid if you ask me. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience at Sandcouch Cafe and I would visit again in the future thanks to it's convenient location. The food was solid and the staff was friendly, and that's really all I need when ordering a sandwich.

It's conveniently located to the LA Convention Center, Crytpo.com arena, and LA Live which makes it a must visit before or after an event! I am obsessed with their happy hour, which offers healthy items at discounted prices with generous portions! I have been here so many times throughout the years but most recently found myself here during a busy World Cup match! Regardless, the service and quality of food was not sacrificed! I was greeted as soon as I got there and the bartenders were overwhelmed but still friendly and helpful. I was so tempted to get a margarita, since theirs are amazing, but decided to keep it dry and just get their vegan nachos. I was able to score a table outside on their lovely patio, which felt secluded enough from the main street. My food was brought out quicker than I thought and I was delighted, as I was famished! The vegan nachos here are fantastic and the happy price is only $10, which is a steal for what you get! They are costed in the most magical concoction of a bean puree, cashew cheese sauce, and guacamole which all have the most creamy, luscious and savory flavors. It's so hearty and well seasoned and not only filling, but you feel great after. Parking is pretty easy, as there are usually ample meters available nearby. I cannot wait to return again soon the next time I'm in Downtown LA! I am hoping to try more of their vegan options and next time I will for sure get a drink to go along with their delicious food!

I ordered the Espresso Martini, and it tasted pretty watered down and lacked the bold coffee flavor I was hoping for. On the bright side, the food was definitely the highlight. The mussels were flavorful, the calamari was crispy and cooked well, and the fries were delicious. Those dishes really saved the experience . Overall, I'd come back for the food, but I'd probably steer clear from cocktails and order a real drink. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, with authentic flavors and quality ingredients that stood out from the first bite to the last. The ambiance was welcoming and the art was tasteful. What truly elevated the experience was the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the meal. They were quick to offer recommendations and ensured everything was perfect without being intrusive. We ordered the tostaditas de atún agua chile negro, beet salad, carne asada taco and Al pastor taco and watched the World Cup game. Distrito Catorce combines exceptional food, a great atmosphere, and top-notch service. It's the kind of place that leaves you planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal. Definitely plan on coming back to watch more World Cup games.

To be honest, I was already biased because his Smorgasburg pop-ups were consistently good. But Distrito Catorce is different , it's like art. My favorite dish was the tacos de papa with salsa macha. The crunch of the potato taco riding into the salsa macha and crema felt like home, but with some extra pop. His salsa game is on point. The scallion salsa on the ribeye taco was also gas. Lastly, I really dug the tostadita de atún. It hit perfectly on these hot summer days. Low-key, I still want to try the El Rey de Noche. Tacos de beef trompo are starting to hit LA, and dude was ahead of the curve making picanha-brisket tacos de trompo. Service is smooth too. The servers are helpful, and solid at the bar. Overall, it's a cool spot with a menu that feels unique to LA.

The servers are so helpful and always cater to first-timers for an enjoyable experience, whether for a date night or hanging with your buds. HOKKAIDO SCALLOPS (a favorite) -Buttery, savory and expertly seared -The brown butter-bacon vinaigrette's contrast with the slightly tangy mustard greens makes it so enjoyable BLISTERED SNAP PEAS - Fresh, crunchy and tossed well - An ideal veggie to add to the feast OCEAN TROUT TARTARE - Great starter for a warm day - Tangy and served on crusty garlic toast - Also great as a main for a light lunch CAST IRON CORNBREAD - A must for the table - The whipped butter and wildflower honey is light and abundant - Smear it all around like you're icing a cake and dig in! After looking around the museum and enjoying the artwork, I went to Manuela, the restaurant inside the museum, on October 3, 2021, and again on October 9, 2021. One time, I went with just one close friend, and the other time, I went with a group of seven friends. On October 3, we made a reservation in advance and had brunch there. On October 9, we all went to the museum together, but since we hadn't made a reservation, we weren't able to eat there that day. I remember the atmosphere being really nice, and I remember that everything we ordered was delicious. All of the staff were also very friendly, and I remember the prices being quite reasonable. My friend and I, of course, split the bill evenly. Since it was five years ago, I obviously don't remember the exact prices in detail, but I do remember feeling that the food was reasonably priced. The only downside was the valet parking, which I remember being around $20. Other than the parking fee, I really liked the place overall and had a very good experience there.
