I love the coffee aroma when I walk in. This is a busy place but the take care of you fast and friendly.

They claim to be a plant based location, but a lot of their products have dairy and I was told that they cannot use vegan cheese on their pizzas either. The coffee was decent, but my early morning coffee didn't mix well with the strong smell of pizza ingredients in the air. Okay place, not for me. Normally, I love coming here. But a couple weeks ago, being pregnant and craving an Alma bowl, I decided to waddle over to Grounded after I haven't been out of the house in a couple months. When I got to the counter, the girl taking my order kept repeating "Anything else" like some McDonalds worker. I just let it slide but honestly didn't put a tip. When she asked for my name I very clearly said 'Ally', she didn't ask for a clarification just waved me off- eager to finish the sale. Disappointed but rather famished I just went to sit down with my book, not looking for issues. I saw a few people trickle in and out, and orders being fulfilled for others but not mine. I heard an Alma bowl being called but some lady next to me got up and came back with it- so must not have been mine. It had been 40 minutes, and I knew sometimes it takes time but I was getting antsy- and a bit irritated... my baby was hungry. I just decided I didn't want the trouble, I just wanted to feed my baby- and walked up to the counter for a refund. The man disclosed that they tried calling both my name and an Alma bowl multiple times, as he pointed to a 3/4 melted Alma bowl on the counter. I was so disappointed. I said you never once called my name otherwise I would have been right here. He clarified "well after a couple times, we figured that might not have been your name and just called for an Alma bowl." I just sighed and asked for a refund. He said "since we called your name we can only refund you a gift card" that's total crap. "You just said you didn't think you had my name right, I don't want issues, I just want my money back." I don't pull the pregnancy card often and in this instance I didn't want to make a scene- I seriously just wanted to feed my baby before I got hysterical. He walked to the back and out came another girl who didn't speak a word to me and then after a few clicks told me the money should be back in my account after 24 hours. Why was that so difficult? Poor customer service for okay food... way to run another great coffee shop into the ground, grounded. I'm pretty disappointed. I was too tired to give attitude otherwise I would have. I can't help that I crave acai bowls- guess I'll just have to go to Keva Juice or somewhere else from now on so I don't have to deal with this anymore. read more

What a great addition to the Las Cruces Plaza scene! Stopped in before our show at the Community Theater across the street and were pleasantly surprised. We had a Jardin pizza, to which we added pepperoni (I know, sacrilege). It was light and delicious. Good beer and wine selection. Very clean establishment with a friendly staff. Absolutely love the coffee! I drink my Americano's black and the coffee here is so clean tasting and not bitter. Love that they have non-dairy milk and have a desire to be a health conscious business. However, I would like to see that applied to their food side as well. I would like to see their cheese as non-dairy or at least to have that as an option. I assumed the cheese was vegan since the milks are and realized after I ate it that it wasn't, not a deal breaker, just as a health conscious person I try to stay away from dairy. read more

Dropped into Grounded while passing through Las Cruces on the recommendation of a local resident. Learned from the very friendly counter staff that Grounded is plant-based. Their home-baked Everything sourdough bagel with hummus, red onion, and sun-dried tomatoes is an absolute winner. We chatted with the equally friendly bagel baker who gave is suggestions for how to make their recipe at home. Their bagel is exceeded only my their Mexican mocha which has a wonderfully spicy kick that tickles the back of your throat with each sip. There should be a Grounded in my hometown as this is such a hands-down upgrade over Starbucks. read more

This place is so adorably quirky and quaint! The staff there is very pleasant and patient. We ordered 2 pizzas (the jardin and the shroom) and they were both delicious. I was born in raised in NYC & pizza is pretty much it's own food group for me. But I was pleasantly surprised. Each pizza has a very unique flavor profile and their crust (not NY style, more Neapolitan) had just the right texture and chew. read more

What a great find. I had the orange cinnamon latte and it was wonderful. My mom and I shared the strawberry walnut spring salad and a marg pizza both were very good. The pizza is thin crust ( which is what I like) but crust could have been a little crustier. A fun place to sit back relax and enjoy a small meal. read more

Visited Las Cruces recently and happened across this super coffee shop. Enjoyed their lavendar latte and assortment of plant-based milks (TERRIFIC!!!), tried two different Acai bowls - delicious and not too sweet!! Also tried their vegan pizza. The other items are not vegan so I can't comment on the other foods. The staff is friendly and thoughtful and cheerful. Love the mural. Love the vibe. THANK YOU for opening. Just moved from Florida and thrilled I found this place Fri afternoon ! What an adorable place that really shows the love and care put into it. The decor is as fun , welcoming and warm as the staff. Great place to enjoy a wood fired pizza or açaí bowl and catch up with a friend. Lots of drink selections including coffees, beer and wine. Lots of healthy options , perfect for conscious eaters and veg folks ,please note they offer plant based milks and creams as promoted and this is exactly why Grounded was at the top of my list of places to visit upon my move to LC. Had a delicious Jardín pizza. Live music outside which was delightful. Helpful and friendly staff. Lots of young people ,however I'm in my 50's and loved it . I stopped in again Sat when attending the Farmers Market for a Lavender Latte with an oat/coconut milk combo - amazing! I will definitely be a regular as it's important to me me to support this family owned, plant based , very special coffee and snack place. read more

Grounded is the hip place downtown to enjoy menu items, hang with friends and surf the web endlessly. Just be warned about the prices. On my visit, I asked about their bagel with salmon. The small postcard menu listed the bagel price as $6 and the additional upcharge for the salmon and cream cheese was another $5. But the staff person noted the price for the bagel was actually $8. I asked if she would honor the listed price and she said no, as the updated price is on the chalkboard menu and that, as she said, "We always tell people the price is $8." Just for comparison, another coffee shop (admittedly near the University) offers a great bagel for $1.25, and for the total price of $4.05, one gets cream cheese with salmon, capers, and red onion. Not honoring a listed price is inexcusable. And charging over 3x for a bagel with cream cheese and salmon compared to another coffee shop is difficult to justify. I know I cannot justify paying that price. read more

I expected more plant-based food from a plant-based restaurant but it's mostly just the coffee that is plant-based. The açaí bowls might be but I was there for lunch and wanted something savory so I ordered the only thing on the menu that was vegan and got a pizza that had just enough mushrooms and jalapeños to have one every other bite. If a vegetable fell off I carefully reapplied it because I couldn't afford to lose any. The sauce was good and so was the crust but for $14 I expected a lot more. There was no vegan cheese. It was a rather boring experience. The cappuccino was delicious but I would have rather had a soda, but they don't have any. None. Just little cans of sparkling water with CBD for $6. None of the baked goods were vegan. So, vegans, just go for the coffee. Everything else will disappoint. read more

Great addition to Las Cruces! This place is a combination of a cafe, coffee shop, and lounge. They have food available for break fast lunch and breakfast. Drinks are a little pricey and there is no animal milk option for drinks - only almond, coconut, and oat milk which is difficult if you have a nut allergy. Ambience is inviting for working/studying although it can get busy/loud on the weekend with the farmers market going on. Will be coming back often! read more

What a lovely night we had at GROUNDED! Great outdoor patio setting on a Friday evening with an amazing Jazz Band, fabulous musicians and Rene Castelo in the house singing! Always enjoy coming to this sweet coffee bar and pizzeria. Such a diversity of food options and an awesome wine selection! Nicest owners, excellent customer service, super friendly vibe, warm and inviting. So glad to have this cafe downtown...adds a very eclectic 'Anthropologie' like atmosphere in Las Cruces and we felt transported to a different place in time! We've come several times and will keep coming back, especially for music on their outdoor patio Friday evenings! read more
