The food was amazing, and I made it a habit to go as often as possible. This location on Mills has the same sort of set up and menu. My order was made well and flavorful, but neither of the employees here were friendly. Rather than feeling welcome or valued as a customer (I was literally the only customer), I felt like I had interrupted their evening somehow. To be fair, this was my first visit to this location, but I'm not sure if I'll be back. There are other halal and Middle Eastern businesses in El Paso that actually demonstrate the kind of hospitality I've always associated with my Lebanese, Syrian, Eqyptian, Yemeni, and Saudi friends. The food was great... but $12.31 for a small sandwich (I tipped) where I felt unwelcome the whole time? It's not gonna be high on my list. I really wish the other location had survived, it was excellent AND had great customer service.

First, I screwed up my order, the 1/2 sandwich and cup of soup--I meant to ask for my turkey/ham/cheese/croissant sandwich COLD, so it was served hot. My bad! I brought the sandwich back up to the counter after the server brought it to my table, and the line staff could not have been more apologetic! I say, "hey, it was my fault, not yours", but yet they felt so disappointed I wasn't happy with the sandwich and were so apologetic that I felt badly. A new sandwich was promptly brought back to my table. Not only was the sandwich great, but twice more before we left, a manager (or someone who could have been the manager) stopped by to make sure I was enjoying my meal and to ask if there was anything else they could do for me. I've been to nearly every "fine" dining establishment in El Paso, and from my own first-hand experience, it is rare that a manager every stops by to say hello and to ensure the experience is meeting my expectation, much less a casual dining outlet. It's almost unheard of at a causal dining place. The restaurant was sparkling clean and busy, so they're really watching the dining room like hawks, which is also rare. How many times to you observe a casual dining place filled with dirty tables, discarded trash everwhere, utensil dispensers out of utensils, unkept salad bars. Not here. Spotless and impeccable! The team's pride is abundantly apparent. Hat's off to the Jason's Deli on Remcon.
