We had a wonderful time going to "Wine Down" for lunch and a glass of wine. This place is a great restored adobe building with low doorways and beautiful ambiance. Everything is set for a serene and enjoyable experience. The staff were very friendly and personable, and very eager to make your time memorable. We started out by wandering around the facility. They have all kinds of little small rooms that open up into the big area. Each place has a different interesting decor and a different seating arrangement, Some just couches and chairs. Other areas are small tables and then some have larger tables. All are around the perimeter of the larger center area. On our tour around, we came upon a small gift shop with all kinds of cute local wares that you can buy. And in the corner is the bar. It has a tasting station and they allowed us to taste several different wines to determine which one we wanted. We ordered a glass and continued browsing around the area. Once we found where we wanted to sit, they brought us menus, and we chose two different sandwiches, one is the turkey avocado, and the other was vegetable ciabatta both with side salad, rather than potato chips. We also got a starter of a Caprese salad. Other than our meals coming out at different times, which was awkward, the food was very very good. We enjoyed our meal and our wine and we both bought a bottle to go! Around the area, they have card games, board games, and other things that you could amuse yourself with. There was an area with a variety of cigars. But no one was manning it at the time. It appeared that they may have music outside, and there are some tables outdoors where I can imagine on an evening could be a great place to sit. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, relaxing, sipping wine, and enjoying lunch/snacks. I definitely recommend this place! You might choose to make a reservation if you're going at prime time after five. read more

Let that be a lesson to me to not discriminate wine spots just because I don't partake in wine. But on this day, my adventurous side who always wants to visit new place won. When we arrived about 11 or noon it was pretty empty. We walked around and took in all the beautiful, authentic, historical spaces. Gorgeous!! It did feel a bit drafty but once we sat at a table with some sunlight we were fine. Believe it or not, we almost walked out at this point because it was empty. Plus, how good can their coffee be, thought this self professed coffee nerd. It is called Wine Down. So we sat, ordered coffees, and a charcuterie board. Well holy cow, the coffee was superb! Simple, large cups, with a stick of cinnamon which really levels up any coffee in my book. It was the kind of coffee that needs no cream whatsoever. The charcuterie board was also perfect (of course). The owner even let us try some pastries that were still warm. All in all, who wants to meet me here next week? I can't wait to return. This place is amazing. They have limited hours so check before you go. It seems they are mostly open on the weekends. They were super busy and a lot of locals with a full parking lot. Always a good sign. I expected a long wait but that was not what happened. Honestly I do what I always do when checking out a new place. I just put us in the hands of the waitress. We ended up with both a beer flight and a wine flight of reds. Then as it was lunch a chickereau (sp) board. Honestly could have this every day for the rest of my life. They were so busy I did not want to take up the waitresses time asking about the history of the establishment but I felt like I was having Sunday lunch in the 18th century. So much fun read more

What a cozy little spot.I went there for the jazz exchange. It was great. The ambiance was perfect. The drinks were good too. The many areas to sit and enjoy a good book or in this case listen to the jazz music are great. The only drawback is they take forever to get your drink order and we en longer to pay your bill.
