Seems like a soild spot to eat with good food and a great selection of wine, but not sure how out of my way I will go back. I went in during an awkward lunch hour and it was myself and 2 other tables in the whole place that were taken. The bar area had what seemed like the owner/manager linking with some vendors into a more private area in the back as well. The place itself is pretty neat with a suit of armor greeting you at the beginning and small tables with brown table cloths and cloth napkins that look for more intimate style dining. The walls are also lined with wine bottles and other Medieval style decor. I go the CUBAN Sandwich and it was pretty solid. Panini style with the pulled pork and ham and cheese but it was weirdly off. I can't tell if the meat was just too dry or if the flavors of all the different items just didn't mesh well but it wasn't the best sandwich I've had. The fries that came with it were just okay. Nothing to write home about. I will try to come back on a date at some point and try to get an overarching experience but until then, 4 stars. read more

Service was a bit shotty for whatever reason it took 30 minutes to tell me they couldn't make a basic Gin & Tonic, ok fine I'll take the Grail Martini no big deal. The food was good I got the charcuterie board and calimari. I was expecting the option of being able to select what meats and cheeses as I've seen on the website and yelp menu's but the menu given no longer had it. Fine. At this point I was already not in the mood. They forgot to turn on my dinner table light at my dinner table for whatever reason and I was dealing with keeping an annoying flys off my board. Food was not very good. Ordered the beef tips and brussels sprouts. Crab cakes and cod was also served. Although I didn't taste the crab cakes, I did have a bite of the cod. It was tasteless. The meat was overcooked and not very good quality. The brussels sprouts were supposed to be oven roasted and they tasted more like steamed very undercooked. The wine was excellent but overpriced. This is a nice enough establishment if you want an overpriced bottle of wine or drink. $6+ for a regular beer anything else is $10 plus. The wine and cocktails is well over that. The food was ok. I had the Sir Robin panini. Others at the table had pasta, salad, and lemon chicken..I didn't try the other food so can't comment on their plates put adding for reference. My panini was pretty good. It has a bit of a kick due to the green chilies. Would I return for another visit? Probably not as nothing other than the company was memorable. read more

Seems my experience may have been an isolated incident but in my 76 years on this planet, and having enjoyed meals in 5 star restaurants,, street foods in subsistence neighborhoods and everything in between on 4 continents, this was beyond a doubt the worst meal I have experienced anywhere. I went there with my daughter and granddaughter who both enjoy good food to celebrate my granddaughter's birthday. The Holy Grail had been on my radar for some months and I was anxious and looking forward to a wonderful meal. The service was fine, the entrees except for my lamb chops, which were alleged to be a small rack of lamb with fingerling potatoes(which turned out to be rough cut red or russets) and undercooked grilled asparagus, were atrocious. The puntas de Filete was vile and literally unedible. I have no idea what that meat was except Awful tasting! The 16oz prime ribeye was at least 50% gristle served not with fingerling potatoes but rough cut generic potatoes The charcuterie board was unremarkable. The presentation of the various dishes was really quite nice. Overall, it proved to be a memorable experience that none of us will ever forget and hope never again to experience something similar. Came here twice in one week! Went on a Tuesday for lunch with a friend and on a Saturday for a date night with my husband. Both times I enjoyed my food and the service. I don't feel it's overpriced for the drinks and the food. It's not cheap, but the service, ambiance and great flavor is worth the price. For lunch I had the parmesan lemon crusted chicken with pasta and it was so good!! The pasta was perfectly aldente and the sauce was creamy and had great flavor. Honestly better than any Italian place I've tried in El Paso and it's not even an Italian joint. My friend had the pasta Natasha and she loved it too. We each had a glass or Prosecco and really appreciated that we were the only ones there on a Tuesday at 1:30 pm. On Saturday I had the seafood pasta and some appetizers. Once again we were impressed with the high quality servers, how well the drinks were made and how quickly our server got us our food and drinks. My husband had the king crab legs. The place feels upscale and fancy, but there is a great mix of people. You can come here in your sundays best or in something casual and you'll be treated well and feel right at home. The Holy Grail fills a void left by the disappearance of Stonewood and NOSH in the Montecillo area. A selling point is valet parking on the weekends. The restaurant also has a very reasonably priced wine selection - for example, Rodney Strong Pinot Noir by the glass is just $6. Be prepared for your entree to come on 100% eco-friendly bamboo serving-ware. The napkins are 100% recycled and the utensils (unless the restaurant is out) are also environmentally-friendly. While the effort can't be argued, the choice is somewhat "off-line" with the overall feel of the establishment. One would expect, and argue, that washable plates and utensils are actually more eco(and cost)-friendly in the long run. The service staff was top-notch on my visit and the bourbon selection ...one of the best in town. read more

First off the place is gorgeous and inviting. Great atmosphere and everyone is very friendly. It wasn't really busy so I hope they get enough business to make it long term in this very tough business. I had the pesto turkey panini and it was tender and very flavorful. My wife got the Cuban sandwich and it was really good too. Not overcooked like so many Cuban sandwiches. My wife thought it was too salty but I didn't notice. We both had the caprese side which was excellent. I was offered a cold glass for my beer but it wasn't very cold. Considering it wasn't busy they should be serving icy cold glasses. I like the wood utensils and bamboo plates. Even with just a couple of areas falling short, you'll enjoy this place both food and atmosphere. I highly recommend it for dinner or just a nice place for drinks and meat and cheese plates. read more

Tried this place for lunch the first time - very disappointed. I ordered the Parmesan crusted lemon chicken pasta. The pasta and Alfredo were just ok. The chicken was so dry it was almost inedible. It looked like a piece that was leftover and they cut it and tried to reheat it, cremating it. The assistant manager offered to get me a fresh piece of chicken to take home, I declined. I came for the wine, which apparently is the best part. I must be honest I kinda love the secret elevator that opens directly into the restaurant. It's like you found a speakeasy. I enjoyed the basic meat and cheese board, though next time I'll do build your own. The rest of the menu is very casual and feels almost an after thought when compared to the extensive wine menu. They have paninis, burritos, soup and salad. So you can pretend you arent a lush. For the non wine drinkers there is also a moderate selection of beer and a refreshing choice of mixed drinks for this city. read more

We had a doctor's appointment in El Paso. The GPS kept us going around in circles making it a very long day. We were so hungry. and there stood the Holy Grail. We went in to this gorgeous place. Our server was so helpful I was brain fried and she shared her favorite dishes. I chose a pasta dish that melted on my tongue. Jenn had a delicious chicken sandwich. The coolest part was the chef. He greeted us at the front door. Asked us how are meal was and invite us back. I was so relaxed after that stressful drive there. The traffic didn't even bother me driving those 2 hours home. A surcharge of 4 dollars to split a salad without mention while they offer to do so? Twenty minutes later, our drink order was taken. another twenty minutes, the waitress told us they were out of two of the three wines we ordered. She finally took our order, Thirty minutes, one entree was served. in another 15 minutes, the second was delivered. after talking to the manager, the final two orders were served.
