I love the burgers at Ground! The food quality is top notch. However, the employees are not always the beat. The location on West Main has a very rude young man who wears his hoodie up while at work and won't open his mouth to answer questions. This location has a new electronic ordering screen that can be a little difficult if you haven't used it. I tried to ask for help inputting my order and this employee just walked by, pointed at the screen, mumbled something and kept going. It wasn't until a very friendly manager came out of the office and helped me that I was able to complete my order. On top of this poor service, they expect a tip even though the customer picks up their own order at the counter rather than anyone delivering to the table. I honestly don't really know how to rate this place. I ordered takeout online, and I'm glad I did, because it had a very odd interior. It felt remarkably outdated on the inside, which is fine, but I wasn't really expecting it. I ended up trying the patty melt (customized), fried pickles, and the buffalo chicken potato. The patty melt had amazing bites, and then some bites that were merely okay. It wasn't really evenly assembled (or seasoned?), so I had bites that really packed a punch (and were absolutely great), and other bites that tasted like...nothing. I would try it again maybe, except I would peel it apart and rearrange everything to be evenly spaced so that it's a solid sandwich experience all the way around. The fried pickles were delicious. They were crispy, along with nice and salty - just the way you want them. I also got quite a lot of fried pickles for just ordering them on the side - which was a pleasant surprise, since there was a $3 upcharge (I'm used to places skimping on the sides, lol). The buffalo chicken potato was...odd. It was basically breaded chicken tenders cut up and tossed in buffalo sauce, then plopped on top of a baked potato. It really needed...something. Or, it needed to be extra saucy. The potato was just so dry...and there wasn't nearly enough chicken/hot sauce/ranch to compensate. I think this item definitely needs reworking. Overall, I think I might come back, but I'm not entirely sure. I wouldn't drive out of my way for it again, and I would definitely opt for takeout over dine-in. The staff were friendly, and the food overall was pretty average. Again, I had some really good bites, and some totally unremarkable ones. Maybe a regular burger would've been more consistent. I would like to note this place is fairly expensive for the type of food you're getting. The patty melt with a side of fried pickles was $17, and I felt like that was kind of pricey? I don't know. I wouldn't pay that much money for something like this, again. If it really blew me away, maybe it would've been worth it. read more

Let's start with the fried pickles, which is exactly where I started. When I see this appetizer on any menu, I cannot resist! So, from one of the world's biggest fans of fried pickles, whoever at Ground is responsible for the fried pickles, I'm going to crown these THE BEST IN NASHVILLE! Perfectly thin, perfectly crispy, impeccable batter, and oh that spicy ranch dressing! Yup, these are the best, outdoing some fierce competition in this category. I ordered the double BBQ Burger with cheddar cheese, bacon, fried onion straws, house-made barbecue sauce, lettuce, and pickles. Shhhh... I slipped a few of my fried pickles into the burger too. This hamburger was spectacular! I mean SPECTACULAR! I understand the rave reviews. The only negative for me was the crispy, well-cooked bacon (my preference is soft, tender bacon). But that was a minor issue. The quality of the meat is impressive. I always take a small sample without any toppings to give an accurate assessment (that's how I detected just how horrendous Five Guys really is under all those toppings). Ground, you've passed the test. By the way, burgers come with a mound of french fries, and they're perfectly salted and textured. You know what I really appreciate? The adorable blonde girl who came by my table, noticed I was out of spicy ranch, and brought me more! She literally read my mind! Why don't more restaurant employees do this? My husband and I came here for lunch. We had just beat the lunch rush, and there was no line. We were warmly greeted, and ordered on the computer. My husband ordered the blue cheese burger with fries, while I ordered the mushroom swiss burger with gluten free bread and sweet potato fries. We sat down, and some of the tables were a little messy, but no table that was too messy to sit at. Just some tables had some trash and/or empty paper towel holders. I loved my burger. It was so delicious, and the bun was actually soft, which isn't common for gluten free bread! The fries were perfectly fried. My husband loved his burger and fries. Early start to the day, then an exhausting day of travel and (temporary) turmoil, the added emotional distress of assisting a friend transfer from Hospital to Rehab Center, and missing lunch along the way...I was ready for a big bite of something soothing. Both my wife and I decided a helping of protein in the form of a great burger would hit the spot. Result: We found exactly that at Ground. Grilled to medium doneness with big fresh flavor (if you can classify a ground meat in that way)...albeit a bit greasy, but we know that's where some of the flavor comes from. A little light on the topping of grilled mushrooms and onions (also both a bit oily), a nicely toasted bun, some dynamite bacon, crispy lettuce and savory swiss cheese. This was exactly what we wanted and needed. I accompanied mine with a screeching hot (temperature) baked potato cooled by some delicious sour cream. My wife chose the Skinny Dip (bun-less burger served with avocado, tomato, lettuce along with a small kale salad. Delightful. Will definitely be back to try some of the other items on the menu. Last night (Franklin location) we ordered a "Ground Melt" and there was no 1000 Island dressing, which seems to me a quintessential ingredient for a patty melt. This omission, combined with patties that were a bit dry, made for an overall dry burger. The loaded tots were quite good. The ordering kiosk is an absolute nightmare, very counter-intuitive. This restaurant is perfect for families. You walk up to the register and the ordering system is self-serve. You order using a screen and pay for your food, then your food is prepared. The food is made fresh including all of the vegetables. The workers seem to be using good sanitary procedures. Just a shout out to local business. Went to a place called Ground in Franklin, TN. Could very well be the best burger I have ever eaten. I got the double build your own burger with some grilled onions and mushrooms and fried pickles on the side. WOW. Juicy, flavorful and the pickles were thin and delicious. Portions were enough for this meathead's bulking season. I will be back, probably weekly. We wanted something simple, quick and affordable, so after reading some reviews we decided to give Ground a try. The food was great and the prices are pretty reasonable for the times. The portions are huge! Our party all had burgers and we all really enjoyed them. My personal favorite was the sweet potato fries. They're served with cold apple butter and it's the most unique and delicious combination. Highly recommend. What really stood out to us was the customer service. The employees were fabulous.
