She came and picked up Sir Brody (my German Shepard), took him to her shop bathed, cut his nails brushed all his dead hair off (which took alot of time) and then gave him a hair cut. He goes with her willing surprised as he never leaves me, and when she brings him back, omg u should see the awesome job, he is frisky and soooo great. As a business owner myself, Professionalism is very, very important. I Set a appointment on Monday 4-27-20@11am to have my two Shih-Tzu groomed by Gloria's shop. Due to the new COVID-19 updates I politely asked that the dogs not be petted or held by any other customers. She replied that this doesn't occur at her shop; which I was happy to hear. Then she said......she felt that her shop was not for me! Good day. I was shocked and confused by her reply......I explained how much I liked her work as seen online and I asked if I still had my appointment....NO REPLY.....after 20min I called to confirm the appointment and she picked up the line and hung the phone up!!! So very unprofessional and disappointing especially as black owned business. Im moving on to find someone who can communicate properly and handle all customer concerns without becoming offended. I can admit it. I'm a crazy pet owner. I have a sweet little cat, and a giant brown dog. I recently took the big one for a day of beauty to Grooming by Gloria. Mocha Chino is a 7 year old chocolate lab. She's been my baby since she was only a few weeks old. The night I adopted her she was so tiny she had to sleep in a shoe box. In the blink of an eye, however, she grew to the 120 pound beast she is today. Over our last 7 years together, she's become so much more than a pet. She's my best friend and the sweetest source of unconditional love imaginable; for this, I take her care very seriously. While browsing Yelp reviews, I found glowing recommendations for Grooming by Gloria. I decided to give them a shot. The shop is a bit off-the-beaten path from where I live, but really worth the trip. In fact, I have to drive 24 miles from my house to Grooming by Gloria, and I don't regret a single inch of that trek. From the moment you walk in the door, you know you're in a place that *gets* crazy pet owners, like myself. Suzy met us at the desk, took several minutes to talk with me and befriend Mocha before she took her back for a bath. Halfway through the appointment, I called to check on Mocha. I'm sure it's annoying to deal with people like me who are frantic about their pup's care, but Suzy just told me a play-by-play of all of Mocha's time with her. And then offered to text me a pic of my big baby snoozing away in a kennel after her bath. Figures. I am worried she's going through separation anxiety, she doesn't have a care in the world. When I went to pick her up, the price was shockingly affordable. Normally, places add on a huge up-charge for a dog as big as mine. Here, the $45 I was quoted was the $45 I paid. This included a bath, de-shedding brush, tooth and ear care, and nail trim. Mocha hates her nails being trimmed normally. In the past, groomers have had to muzzle her just to get through the procedure. Suzy just trimmed the nails like it was nothing, Mocha barely even noticed. I'm completely impressed. And so thankful Yelp led me here. I hope I never have to trust anyone else to take care of my girl, because the service provided at Grooming by Gloria is absolutely top of the line! read more

Our dog has never been to the groomers and was barking because she was scared. All the emplyees kept asking if she was always like this and were being rude about it. They didn't try to come over and pet her and make sure she was comfortable. They grabbed her leash and pulled her away pretty rough. We will not be coming back here. Stay away! read more

My regular groomer fell & injured his back so his shop was closed for several days. Since I was about to leave for 5 weeks, I really needed to find a groomer. I made several calls & then thought about Gloria, whose shop is near my vet. Not only did they agree to take my dog same day, the price was in line with what I have been paying. I took my standard poodle puppy to get her first grooming. I specifically communicated with Gloria about what we wanted. A puppy cut. She said they would just clean around the eyes , tummy private part and trim the nails when I came back 4 hours later they had shaved her face and gave her "clean feet ". I was in shock. It was not at all what we spoke about or what they were supposed to do. When I started to question Gloria just got up and walked away. Then the another woman just said it would grow back. I am shocked , my puppy looks horrible and I will never ever take her back. I hope this helps someone else not have the same horrible experience. Stay away!!!! read more

I have used Gloria many many times to groom my two dogs, and I am very pleased with her work and I recommend her and her staff to do a good job with Fido and Fluffy. My dogs have always looked good after having a shave, cut, etc. and from what the staff say, my dogs behave themselves when they get groomed. That tells me my dogs trust them. I have had other groomers tell me one dog was hard to handle and I know that means my dog didn't like them! Knowledgeable, fast, friendly, and affordable. read more

They did a good job on my Maltese! I've used many groomers with him in the past and I've always picked him up and he was shaking but not from Gloria's! He was happy as ever! Dropped my cat off today 6/26/13. First off they moved and I had no idea of this. Would have been nice to know when we made the appointment earlier in the week perhaps. When I get to the new location to drop my cat off it takes them about 5-10 minutes of bickering because they are telling me I don't have an appointment. They also tell me that if I would have been in the system I would have gotten a phone call about the relocation. Lets call this strike one. When I go to pick my cat up and am told the price I pull out my card to pay. The lady then hangs her head and starts blabbing about the move and this and that and then tells me cash only. Then asks me to walk across the street to an ATM to get cash so I can pay. Strike two. Luckily I had cash in my wallet to pay. However she thought it was funny that another customer was apparently making the trek to get cash from said ATM due to their lack of planning with this relocation. Strike tree, Gloria is out. Then when I get my cat, she is still extremely wet from the grooming. WTF AM I PAYING FOR?!?!?!? read more

I have been here once before and had no complaints about the cut. I have called about 4 different times last week but it just goes to voicemail so I decided to leave a message. Tried calling 5 different times again today because I haven't heard back and the first time a lady put me on hold. I held for 7 minutes then hung up to try again.. again and again.. No answer. Have 2 prior hair cuts that were good and then this last cut was less than desirable. 1st. We never shave our poodle and requested he not be shaved when we dropped him off, it was written on the instruction card however this was ignored and he was shaved (Gloria even said this was not the length he was suppose to be) with long hairs left here and there. Ears were requested not to trim but were cut at the back of the ear. Feet were not trimmed quite as good as they should have been. Went back a few days and complained, should have been given my money back but they didn't say anything. Eventually I told them I should get the next cut free or discounted, will follow up. I took my chow/shepherd mixes to Grooming by Gloria because I read 6 reviews; all amazing, all stating they were amazing with dogs that acted aggressive with being groomed and had experience with long haired dog's making them not look super goofy (dandy lion heads). My dogs are not aggressive, I have one we will call BIG and another called SMALL. Big is a bit more dominant but listens very well to true commands like "NO SIR" and Small is definitely submissive, super sweet but is weary of strangers. One hour after I dropped my boys off I got a call stating they were only getting baths that day; they wanted to show teeth... Turns out Big is sweet, but Small is being super aggressive. Wow, huge change of personality there. I explain Big has had many grooming sessions, has never liked them, but is easily told NO when he lets you know... they agree to cut Big but only wash Small. I call back 3 hours later and apparently they have both gotten their haircuts...hm. Chows almost always look goofy when you cut them; especially to the short cut we requested, but you can taper the cut so it eases into the head and tail... This was not the case; oh my wow, the backs of their heads are completely uneven Big has one of his front legs shaved but not the other; Small's tail is shaved super short like 3 inches up. Small's nails were trimmed; but not Big's (he has the worst nails). I will never take my dog's there again. To top everything off; they don't require any proof of rabies vaccine or check for chips. I know this because our Small has a chip registered to my cousin and should have asked about it. Big has tag's from a state way up north where we came from the military. I had Suzy of Grooming by Gloria groom my elderly Pom, who is both a giant wuss and has Addison's disease, which leaves him unable to cope with stress well. Suzy was really understanding about his special needs, and didn't charge extra, even though I was admittedly being a pain about getting him out of there ASAP. I was very happy with the quality of the bathing, haircut, and nail trim he was given, and the price was a very good value for the level of service received. read more

I love this place! Sharon and Gloria are always so friendly and professional. My dogs always come home happy, clean, nails trimmed and accessorized with a bandana that always varies by season or holiday. Besides the great atmosphere and fantastic service, it is also VERY affordable here! Serveral friends have also boarded their dogs with Gloria. it's always hot in there. went there about 3-4 times and they always mess up on something, but i keep going back cuz i like the fact that i can make an appt up to 1pm to drop my dog off unlike other places where you have to drop off in the morning and can't pick up until the late afternoon. once they didn't do much to my shit tzu's face, another time one ear was longer than the other. it is just way too hot in there though. read more

BEWARE-- I always had my dog groomed by Gloria & was extremely happy with the wonderful job they did on my border collie. However, they now charge by the weight. I called the other day to have my dog bathed. They told me that the charge would be $31.00 for the bath and the cutting & trimming of nails. If she had fleas there would be an additional charge of $6.00. NOT TRUE-- they charged my mother $59.47 and took it upon themselves to brush her teeth so they could charged me MORE!! I was very upset & will not take her there again. They quote you one price & then charge you MORE-- no thanks-- back to the reliable- Petsmart!!!! read more

this place doesn't even deserve a star. I have never has such a horrible grooming experience in my life. They did not listen to what i wanted done to my dogs and instead gave them unrecognizable haircuts. When clearly showing i was extremely upset about it, all they had to say was "it is hair, it will grow back". I will make sure I NEVER return there nor allow my friends to bring their animals there.
