Charlie Blu, the Aussie, here telling you about my recent experience at Tails are Wagging. Even though Dad takes me everywhere, sometimes he needs to board me when he leaves town for my own sake, so this doggie camp was my first choice. It has a nice time range of drop off and pick up times which helps with Dad's schedule and ensures that I get to come home without delay. I like that we get an opportunity to play outside 90 minutes at a time, 3 times a day. The outdoor area is 1/2 covered and 1/2 in the sun, which gives me options in various weather conditions. Since I'm just a year old and under 40 lbs, the helpers also put me in the small doogie group with others my size, so we can play together. There is a separate area to go potty and plenty of time set aside to rest. The owner is friendly and answered questions quickly. After an interview, updated shots, and a 3 hour daycare trial , it was determined that I could come back here for an overnight stay. The 4'x6' kennels are big enough to get a good night sleep. It's a good thing Dad remembered the dog mat because the floors are concrete and would have been too cold for me. Glad we found this place because next to sticking to Dad and Mum like velcro, this boarding facility is a good fit when they can't be with me. read more

I love Tails Are Wagging! This place is amazing! The place is clean and the staff are friendly, especially the two lovely ladies who are at the front desk. The price is reasonable as well and they offer 10% military discount also! I just had my fur baby stay there for 9 nights, and they treated her really well, and she cleaned and smelled really nice when we picked her up. We can tell she had a lot of fun cause she passed out as soon as we got home. read more

Our two dogs boarded here for six days. They were happy and also looked and smelled good when we picked them up. The staff has been friendly and helpful in all interactions, and the reception area is welcoming and well-kept. It's nice that they offer a military discount as well. The staff reported how the dogs did and what seemed to be out of the ordinary during the stay which came off as honest and real feedback. We appreciated this so much since other places either don't tell you anything at all or say things that don't align with your dog's personality/mannerism. We loved our experience so much (and seems our dogs did too) that we booked another stay for the upcoming holidays. It's been a challenge finding professional boarding that puts us at ease and keeps us from feeling anxious thinking about how our dogs are doing. Note: Jackie and Fred are amazing owners and love my dogs. What I love about their facility is if you are boarding your dogs, there is someone onsite 24/7 and will check on the dogs at night if there is anything off. This gives me peace of mind while traveling. read more

My puppies have been happily coming to Tails Are Wagging for almost 4 years now! Weekend trips, summer vacation extended stays and everything in between. They always run to get in the door as quickly as they can to go see their friends! Jackie and Bryan and Torrie and all of the personnel there could not be nicer and I am ALWAYS confident that my puppies are well taken care of whenever I am out of town. The bonus is that they both get groomed for free for a 4 night stay or longer so I puck them up and they are fluffy and smell delicious!!! We needed a place for our Yorkie for the week and had never used a boarder with him before. He's also an only dog in our home so we knew he'd be nervous and needed a facility that was understanding and accommodating. Did a ton of research and loved all the 5 star reviews. Felt even better after calling and talking to Torrie. Love that they have a strict vaccine policy and that they require a 1/2 day interview. The facility is very clean and staff very nice. We rarely give 5-star ratings; however, Tails Are Wagging has earned our trust. More importantly, Koa and Kaipo are extremely excited every time we drive onto the property. Called and spoke with Tori - I have two very high energy GSP's and one is in tact. She shared that the policy at this boarding facility was that my in tact male would not have access to open play times, which I completely understand. But that wasn't the end of our conversation. Instead of sharing that info and telling me "good luck", Tori shared the names of six boarding facilities which would be best for our dogs, and that based on their breed they would need plenty of room to run. She gave me ideas and locations which would be best for my dogs, even when it didn't financially benefit her business. What a wonderful and refreshing experience! read more

We were looking for a new boarding place for our pup because our current one changed ownership and began nickel and diming us for every little thing. We drive by Tails are Wagging everyday and finally decided to do a trial daycare day to see how our old boy would like it. Your first daycare visit is free so we had nothing to lose. It took our pup two visits to get comfortable, but he opened up and seemed to really enjoy his daycare time. Three aspects I really liked: -the owner came out front and talked to my husband at each pick up and let us know how our boy did that day. She seemed to really 'get' him and we are glad she told us not to be discouraged by a rather timid first visit. -if you board your dog, daycare time IS INCLUDED in what you pay. Our previous boarding place charged more per night plus an additional fee for an extra 30 min of playtime. We were paying so much money just so our dog could go potty 4 times in a day instead of 3. -someone is there with the dogs 24/7. That is reassuring to me in case of an emergency. Overall, Im excited we have found a new local business to support, with good customer service and a quality product. I will definitely be referring others to this place to take their furry loved ones. read more

My baby is way more social after going to this place. She used to stay by my side at the dog park but know she immediately runs to play with other dogs as soon as we get to the park! Best dog day care an owner can ask for. It really is my dog's home away from home. I have odd work hours, so he visits weekly and stays overnight and is ALWAYS happy, coming and going. It's worth paying just a bit more for full day care or even boarding, as opposed to having a stranger come to let your dog out for half an hour while you're working. Our dog LOVES Tails Are Wagging! The facility is set back from Redland Road, but don't let that and/or the construction stop you from giving them a try. They have two outside play areas and work hard to set up play groups so none of the dogs are with other dogs they're uncomfortable with. The larger play area has a huge covered part, which is really nice if your dog is like mine and gets hot really quickly. I drop our pup off for doggy daycare almost every weekday morning, and by the time I pull into their driveway, she is whining with excitement. She loves the owners, and I can tell that they love her too. They are quick to let me know if it seems she's not feeling well, is limping, etc. We've also boarded her there multiple times, and we have peace of mind knowing she's well taken care of. read more

We just moved to San Antonio and were hoping to find a boarder for our Goldendoodle as good as the one we left in Austin. We were thrilled to find an even better boarder at Tails Are Wagging. Boarding/Day Care doesn't get any better than this! I started looking around for a boarding facility that would be a good fit for our dog and was so relieved to find Tails Are Wagging! We utilized their free 1/2 day of doggy day care to see how Sassy would do and she really seemed to enjoy it. She didn't want to come in from play time and was happily worn out when she got home. When it came time for boarding, everyone was so sweet. They didn't mind when we called to see how she was doing and when we picked her up, she again didn't want to come in from playing. I love that they have someone there 24/7 in case of emergencies. That is rare even if you board at a vet clinic! Also the doggy day camp is included in the cost of your boarding as well as a free bath if your dog stays more than a few days. They offer a discount depending on how many days you stay and they also have a military/first responders discount which is very much appreciated. Everyone at Tails Are Wagging really seems to care about your dog and gets to know them which is so comforting. It is far superior from your run of the mill place that is just out to make a buck and it shows! Even if you live nowhere near their location, I promise you, it is absolutely worth the drive to know your dog is in excellent hands! read more

This facility is my dog Nala's home away from home. She goes to daycare here almost daily and she loves it! She is so well taken care of and I have great peace of mind that my fur baby is loved and well taken care of while I am away. I found this place just by chance driving down Redland about 6 months ago. Been bringing Teddy here ever since and So happy I did! This is the cleanest place I've ever seen for dog boarding/daycare. My dog comes home tired from playing and doesn't have a stinky dog smell. They have a huge yard outside with Astro turf type grass, partly shaded and misters for when it's hot during summer time. The staff treats my pup like their own and I always look forward to dropping him off here for the day knowing he's so well taken care of. My other big plus is that they actually have someone overnight if you board your dog, I guess it's something you would assume everyone has but you will be sadly mistaken. (Call your usual dog boarder and you'll find out this shocking truth). They obviously know you want your peace of mind while your dog is here in their care. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone here for daycare/boarding. The last time I visited we did a dog nail dremel and it was a very nice convenience. I'm one happy dog mom! read more

From the first call I had with them to the reminder emails to the drop off experience to the pick up experience they are BY FAR the best boarding experience we have had in San Antonio. Their prices are no-nonsense. None of that nickel and dime crap that most of the others hit you with. They seem to genuinely care about your dogs. Won't go anyplace else from now on. read more
