I left my last vet office in tears because I literally got scammed and disrespected so hard, so switching to CityVet AH and being given such good services by a genuinely caring team was a breath of fresh air! The payment system is flexible, which is very nice, especially if you have pet insurance. The receptionists have always been timely in sending me everything I need for my claims. The vets are very considerate and good at explaining their findings in an easily digestible way. There is a mutual respect: The Vet respects your wishes and doesn't push when you decline something for the moment, and you respect the Vet's expertise if it's something that they say needs to be done. It's about putting the animal above all else, and I've always felt on the same page with the docs. I never feel pushed into making an unnecessarily expensive decision. Important to know: Your appointment time is serious to the staff, but they are an URGENT CARE CLINIC as well!! If an animal comes in for a dire emergency before yours can be seen, obviously they're going to save that animal first!!! The delay because of an event like this has never been too long in my experience! Seriously, no more than 20-30 minutes. The staff are really on top of things here.

Due to the recent storm we lost security in our back yard because our fence fell. We got photos nearly every day of our dogs enjoying pup cups (additional cost)& we were able to watch the dogs the entire time. The poodle did receive an injury on her paw to which I was notified immediately. Luckily it was superficial& nothing to be concerned about. We even received report cards detailing their behavior while at the boarding center. Everything was handled nicely and it was incredibly easy to upgrade anything we might've wanted to during their stay. I fully intend on coming back to this location. The online booking process was quite easy. Unfortunately, my last visit was disappointing due to overbooked grooming services and poor check-in communication. I received multiple calls with various frustrating excuses, including one that said they couldn't find the paperwork detailing the grooming style I wanted for my poodle and another that cited staffing shortages. These were just a couple of the reasons provided. I received these calls while I was at work, which was exactly why I had boarded my dogs--to avoid interruptions unless absolutely necessary. Since I remained in San Antonio, I expected better communication and reliable follow-through, especially given the high costs involved. I wish I had been informed from the start about the issues so they could have been addressed while I was not in the middle of giving presentations. After all my troubles, I was offered a 10% discount on the grooming, but they ultimately did a subpar job. I am very disappointed with the staff I spoke to, including the manager. I didn't want to express my frustration immediately, so I waited three weeks before posting this review.

THEY ALMOST KILLED OUR DOG!!! We left our Silky Terrier Coco with them for a week while we were on…read morevacation. During our vacation we called multiple times to check up on Coco. They told us every time that she was doing fine. When we returned to pick her up she had severe bloody diarrhea and was almost comatose from dehydration and she had lost 3 pounds in one week! She had to spend 2 weeks in the hospital on a IV and have a feeding tube for 4 weeks because she was to weak to eat. This cost us $6,600. But the worst part is her kidneys failed because she was neglected so long by them and now the vet says she only has 6-9 months to live...

They worked really well with her, gave her time to settle in. When I would drop her off in the am we greeted in a nice friendly way by Scott. Robert took her every morning and walked her around. I mentioned she was leery of the techs going to vans in the parking lot and he got her out there to observe them. Kendall her main trainer was a positive force for her and she really likes her now. (This is big for this girl and her fears) She has become more focused and listens much better. Took her to pickup curbside on our way home from class, normally she backs away from the curbside employee or tries to go up front. Today she sat nicely in the car, watched them and didn't try to get away from. Big improvement. I look forward to watching her become even more confident with her group classes. Highly recommend!

We were so lucky to have Josh as a trainer to work with our mischevous pup. He's enthusiastic and knows dogs really well, and his guidance is much appreciated. Josh is always willing to spend a little extra time after class to go over the nuances of training with us. We now work with Kendall who has been super helpful with pointers on how to sharpen Piko's skills. All in all, an excellent staff.
