This was my first time taking my girls to get groomed there. Making an appointment was easy. I made it online. Checking in took a while due to the amount of owners and pets waiting to check in, but once we checked in they took the dogs to the back pretty quickly. I have two shih tzus. One is 13 years old and the other 8 months. Let's start with the 13 year old's haircut. I loved it. They did a great job. She usually has issues with her feet being messed with, but they were able to trim them. The 8 month old: great job. Except! They cut her ponytail. I've been growing her ponytail (top knot) since she was three months old. I specified not to touch her top knot and I was so disappointed when I picked her up. I know its just hair and it will grow back, but I even took her with a ponytail to trigger, the I'm sure busy, groomer not to touch it. I should have known that they were going to be too busy (6 dogs being checked in at 10am) and something was going to go wrong. They would have gotten a four star, but that mistake was just not good. I've taken my 14 y/o Schnoodle there for almost 3 yrs now, based on a neighbor's referral. Previously, my only gripe was their respect of time when making "appointments". Grooming shouldn't take 6-7 hrs with an appointment. Other than that, my pooch appeared to be cared for in their "care"...until March 29, 2025. I've had good reports...up until now ( March 29, 2025). The front desk teenage girl was courteous, but my blame is ENTIRELY with the owner/groomer. I understand dogs can be skiddish w/grooming, but my pooch has a profile AND she deferred to it upon check-in. I dropped off our be guy, but my hubby picked him up. We (GG staff & I) talked on the phone three times prior to pick-up, and at no time was I told about the HORRIBLE skin tears on Tip...our guy! She told me about how his beard was unable to be trimmed as requested due to matting, but not the skin tear/burn...no explanation! I found out when our daughter was rubbing on him. He was excessively whiney. Horrified!!! I called and left messages for a follow-up....crickets. Mistakes happen in life, but how it's addressed is what makes a difference. Horrible, horrible, horrible!!!! Needless to say, we won't return. I gave two out of five due to the history established, but this was terrible service to animals. I've always liked smaller groomers and this one is going to be the one I use from now on. Very friendly staff and we're sure to mention if there were going to be any extra charges. I knew there was going to be because my dog was very matted. If you are looking for something close to the Alamo ranch area and somewhere that accepts walk ins they accept them before 11 am. I asked at 12pm and they made the exception since they have slots open. It was my first time here and unlike other places when I left this place my dog was not shook and scared like he has been when I've taken him to other places. read more

I can see why this place has 2.5 stars .. do NOT take your dogs/pets there. The manager is rude and has zero customer service skills. We went over how I'd like my dog cut/groomed and she kept repeating and trying to comprehend.. by the 5th time of her asking questions I would have drawn a picture because the ones I was giving wasn't good enough but it seemed that not even a roadmap could get her to the destination.. I kept my cool with her for her to yell at me to not come back! Acting like I was in the wrong for the mistakes that were made . I called looking for a groomer closer to my house. The lady I spoke with said bring him in today. That was a big mistake. 4 1/2 hours later when I called, they had not started the groom only bathed him. I explained that I needed to pick up before 6pm and they had him ready in an hour. So it took 5 1/2 hours to groom him... and as I was walking in they were just finishing up. It looked like a hurried groom, he did not have the teddy bear face I requested. Also, 4 days after the groom my Doodle was shaking his head, looked in his ear and it's very red and inflamed.... He's never had an ear infection and he's 4 years old. I'm not sure if this business is trying to take on too many dogs or this was an isolated incident, but I won't be taking my pet back. read more
