For instance healthy dry cereal options, avocado oil, apples, oranges, bananas and any number of other things. First the staff and mangers are very nice. Second research what a discount store is if you want to go some stuff is out of date but it's a Best By date a lot of it is still safe and it's up to you to decide. Third most stuff is in date and the expire date is months and months away. Never had one bad interaction with the staff and it's a great place to grab good deals . read more

Do NOT believe that 20% off wine is at all a good idea. Purchased 6 bottles of wine and have thrown away 4 bottles. Worse tasting wine ever!!! Keep purchasing your wine from your local place, even at 75% off it would still be a mistake. read more

This store seems to regularly sell out of date items, including dairy, chips, meat, chocolate and OTC pharmacy items such as Tylenol and cough syrup. Always check the expiration date of any product you may purchase from this store. Management is poor, when brought to store personnel attention, response is "well that's why it has been discounted". At 12:03 on February 19th 2025, I and my 2 children came to shop at store #421 in Richland, WA. I had received a notification this morning on my app that any fresh produce and fresh meat items would be eligible for 50 sweepstakes Groceries for Life entries, instead of 1 entry. I went specifically to grab items that would qualify and I told my children that I would give them cash, so they could experience counting money and complete their own transactions. When I got into line, I started to break up my purchases so that each child would get their opportunity to make a purchase. I also pulled out my phone and opened my app and I told the cashier that I had it pulled up to scan for the incentives and set it next to the payment kiosk, within her reach. I gave my oldest his cash and then started getting my next child set up for their purchase. The cashier did not scan my app and closed out the first transaction that would have qualified for 50 sweepstakes entries. I pointed the snafu out to her and said, "That really sucks to miss out on those entries. I had the app ready for you to scan." She said, "I didn't know what you meant by incentives..." I then told her about the bonus entries happening now and she said, "Would you like a different cashier?" "No, it's whatever. It just sucks to miss out." "Well, it's no big deal. You should just smile more!" "Excuse me?" "You should smile more." "No. And that is sexist bullshit." "What did you say?" "I said, it's sexist bullshit." She then turned to my children and directly addressed them, "Oh! We don't talk like that! Those aren't appropriate words." I said, "I teach my children that all words have power and there are appropriate times to use them, like now." Still addressing my children, "No. YOU don't use those words." And then turned back to me and plastered a fake smile on her face and said, "And YOU should REALLY smile more." I said, "You know what? I DO want a new cashier." And she said, "Well, I'm the owner. So you know what? You get to pay nothing today!" "I don't want your free groceries, I would like to finish my purchases with a new cashier." "Nope!! These are free today!" She then turned to my children again and says, "Are you homeschooled? Cause I can tell." Then looks back at me with a smirk. I just work on putting my groceries in my cart and she picks up a bag of avocados and asks, "Do you like avocados? Take these avocados and make sure to pay it forward!!" I told her to look forward to her reviews and we left. Once we got back into our car, I asked my children if they heard the things she said to them. They did, but said they were confused. "She sounded nice in her voice, but she didn't seem kind." I explained to them that she was insulting them for being homeschooled and implying that they were less worthy because of it. I explained that, "she made a mistake and instead of correcting it, she decided to be a bully instead and she believes that just because she owns the store, that she can behave however she wishes. She was inappropriate, sexist and a bully. She also knew that she was wrong and that's why she gave us our groceries for free. She also did it to keep us from getting our bonus sweepstakes entries." My oldest replied, "That's really unfair.... And not kind." "I know sweetie and I'm sorry she said mean things to you both. Neither of you deserved to be treated that way. My wife bought steak from here that happened to be past the sell by date by 2 days and she didn't notice during the purchase. Our plan was to make it that night and when we opened it, we could immediately tell it was rotten due to the smell. We took a photo of the sell by date on the package and a photo of the meat in the trash (the photo is time stamped) and had the original receipt. We then took the receipt back into grocery outlet a few days later and spoke with the manager about getting a refund. She said that she couldn't do that without the product in her hand and wouldn't budge. I insisted that it didn't make sense for us to save rotten meat to bring back in to the grocery store but she wouldn't hear it. She said the only thing we could do is come back another time when the owner was in and he might be able to help. Absolutely crazy to be sold rotten meat, have proof, and not get a refund. This store is clean. Upon arrival, there is a sanitizing station for customers to use sanitation wipes to wipe down carts; plus hand sanitizer. The aisles are clear so people can socially distance as needed. The COVID-19 pandemic is not stopping business here. All staff and guests were wearing face coverings, and no bad remarks or issues. This store is closest to me so it's convenient in a pinch. We do like the Pasco store better in regards to customer service, more options for those with food allergies, and overall shopping experience whilst there. The discounted plant-based coffee creamers and discounted plant-based ice creams are fun to see offered. If you do find you like a particular brand or flavor, stock up on it if you are able as it most likely will sell out and not be offered again. Not always the case, but just be mindful. Baking with food sensitivities is easy as they offer large bags of gluten-free/ grain-free flours with alternative cooking oils in large bottles for an affordable price. Our ultimate most favorite item at Grocery Outlet are the large bags of Bouchard Belgian Dark Chocolate. Normally offered at Costco around Christmas time, these are almost offered all year round at Grocery Outlet. Keep an eye out for these and enjoy one for us! read more

I love Grocery Outlet and I shop at this location frequently. Today I spent about $100 and while checking out, realized I forgot to bring shopping bags. The cashier asked if I wanted to purchase a bag to which I said yes. She proceeded to start loading the bag with items and then just sort of stopped. I completed loading the bag which was full to the top and still had about a bags worth of items left in the bagging area. She then began checking out the person behind me in line and just placing her items right In the pile with mine. I'm scrambling with a overstuffed bag and trying to gather up the last of the items. The cashier did not offer me any assistance or even acknowledge that I was still there trying to gather up my remaining items. I'm Bummed out that this was my experience today. read more

Prices and choices are on par with other grocery outlets though I saw very few discounted items as seen in other outlets. The so so rating is a result of their customer service. As a senior citizen with a typical male prostate, I had to urgently use the restroom however there was a big sign that said closed to public because of Covid19. I would have ignored the sign and used it anyway being an emergency, but a young stock boy was there guarding the entry. Instead of posting a guard the store could have had him in there disinfecting the surfaces and kept the restrooms open for the public as most other stores, even McDonalds is capable of doing. read more
