Good to have a Grocery Outlet store close to my in-laws place now. This branch is particularly nice because it is a newer store. Compared to my hometown store, this one is larger, carries more merchandise options, and is cleaner. Prices are lower than most other grocery chains. Good selection of organic items. Went in the other day and had a roller small cooler i use to sell my wife's homemade icecreams with me, my son in his stroller, and daughter. Walked with my daughter to the ice, had her grab a bag and started to walk by the fruit to get in line i stopped gave my daughter $5 and said I'll wait by the door get in line. As the older fat white lady was ringing up a customer she looked and me not saying a word and called me over with her finger like i was a child in trouble i ignored her. When my daughter got up to pay for the ice she insinuated she needed to check the ice chest which i wouldn't be opposed to other than if you know that store i hardly walked anywhere. I said she can check the cameras she asked again so i showed her, she said the whole theft thing which i understand but can't just ask everybody that goes in the store to start emptying their pockets. I made a comment what's next going to check my sons stroller like seriously, anyways go today son in stroller told my daughter, Becky be tripping so don't touch anything grab a basket and in total had 4 items in the basket put it on the belt and immediately demanded not asked but demanded me to take the items out of the basket, i did she said is "that all for you", i responded "yes", SHE THEN LEANS OVER AND LOOKS IN MY SONS STROLLER. I had a terrible experience at this Grocery Outlet location. An item was clearly tagged $14.99 on the shelf, but I was charged $19.99 at checkout. When I brought it up, the manager refused to honor the posted price. Instead, he claimed a customer must have moved the tag and said he "wasn't going to get ripped off by $5," and that he would rather lose a customer than honor the shelf price. As a business owner myself, I know how important customer trust is, and I would never treat people this way. The manager even followed me into the parking lot, raising his voice after I told him that proper training and accurate pricing are part of running a business. Extremely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. I will not be returning, and I hope this location takes steps to improve how they treat their customers. read more

Woah. Latinos be warned you might get racially profiled. This place used to be favorite market. Came in on Sunday 6/15 with my brother. Two male workers with hats were talking right at the front. We went to look at the beer selection but as soon as we walked over one of the guys overtly came over and followed us to the alcohol section. As I'm browsing the beers, the guy's clearly pretending to adjust bottles, and not even work on anything particular, while glancing over just watching us. As soon as we get some beer and take it to the check out the worker leaves and goes back to what I assume was his real assigned task, since I now see him actually restocking food with a normal cart and talking to customers. After seeing him walk away and not come back to the alcohol, it became clear as day he was just watching, waiting for us to finish looking. So as we're leaving I go talk to the other guy at the front who I find out is the manager whose name I think was Sebastian. I asked him why he thought it was okay to have his worker follow and watch us while we try to shop. He started talking all weird and frantic repeating and saying his guy was just "working on wine" and "not doing anything wrong." I told him that was nonsense because there was no wine cart or anything, he was just pretending to move bottles around and look over at us! But Sebastian wouldn't apologize or do anything. So my message to the business owner is this. This is unacceptable to the La Mirada community. How do you let these unfriendly, rude, managers/staff worker here and profile your minority customers?! Anyone reading this, take your money elsewhere. Don't support a business who thinks you're going to apparently steal something just based from the color of your skin. The hispanic community is already going through it right now, we don't need any more of this energy. read more

The manager on duty, Iman (sp?), was so rude. I picked up some rice that was marked at $3.49 and when Guy got to the register, it rang up at $5.49. In the grand scheme of things I could care less about two dollars but it's the principle of the thing. So when they went back and checked, they said nope that is the correct price $5.49. So I walked back to the aisle found the manager there pointed out to him that it says $3.49 but he claimed "oh that's for a different rice product." He did of course acknowledge that there was no correct price on there, but said that he couldn't do anything about it. And such it is in this modern era when customer service is so incredibly poor. This young manager just lost a client over two dollars. So stupid, so typical, unfortunately. read more

Been coming here for years and was always a satisfied customer. The last 5-6 months have really gone down hill. I bought 2 boxes of Oxy Clean earlier in the day and went home to use it. It was hard and would not scoop. This is the 3rd time I've bought a cleaning product that was bad quality. I did not bring the items back prior to today but decided I'm not going to pay for product that was unusable. The sales associate said I'm not sure we can return it without a receipt. I threw it away on my way out of the store. I use their app so I was able to show a digital receipt. The manager reluctantly gave me back my money after commenting after opening up the product and trying to scoop it "it doesn't seem that bad" Really? Is that your store motto? It's not that bad? I told the sales associate that I had bought Drano months ago and that it was not usable She asked how did I know it was bad and I told her because it looked like clumpy rotten milk I threw the bottle away along with my money. Also, the owner was about 5 feet away from me as I was making my return Nobody offered an apology or told me they're sorry for my experience I have recommended this store to many friends and family and will not continue to do so. I will not be back here because this store has really lost its appeal. It is not a value as it claims to be. I'd rather go to a store and pay slightly more to have a product I know is not unusable. I went to Dollar Tree next door first and got rudely bag checked upon entering Grocery Outlet by the Older White Lady .. Scared me.. All's I know is I'm walking in and I heard what sounds like "Throw Mama From The Train" "You have 2 leave your bag up here by the Checkout Sir... Really shocking/annoying.. Then I go in and alot of their products don't have price tags.. No pricey No Buy Buy.. Too many workers clogging up the isles .. I love finding unique things here. There are a few select items they typically have that are cheaper or comparable to the warehouse stores but in smaller quantities. Perfect for my needs. It is always clean and organized. The employees are typically friendly and helpful. It is a peaceful store with a lot of great finds. The only caution is that there are often items expiring immediately, so that is just something to be mindful of. I definitely recommend this Grocery Outlet. read more

I'm really sorry to say this because I've been a repeat & loyal customer since Day 1. I love the products & especially the customer service. It seems like customer service has taken a turn for the worse with hiring new employees. I left a few days ago with 1 bag full to the brim, it was heavy. I mentioned it and the (new) cashier said 'oh well, it all fits, right? Of course, the handles broke. If I was elderly or somehow weak, this would've been a disaster. I returned today with a defective product (hair conditioner), again a new manager. He first said that he doesn't know about hair products. I explained that the conditioner doesn't 'spray' as it says on the bottle. He tried it once & a tiny glob of goo came out...he said, 'it works'. I read him the label which clearly says 'spray' as in liquid. He was neither helpful nor patient. Unfortunately, I might not return...and I usually go there 1-2 times a week. All of the other (previous) salespeople have been so friendly and helpful. Maybe they ought to give a class to these new employees. I'm afraid GO will be losing their long-time coatomers, like me. read more

Was asked to leave my hand bag at the front immediately upon entrance. My bag is pretty big, but it is where I keep my wallet and other necessities. Not only that but I witnessed other shoppers with handbags, on their person, in the store. If you are going to require customers to check in bags at the front, you need a system in place. Not just ask them to leave it at the front unattended for someone else to steal at the cash wrap. And the practice is very low class in my opinion. Won't be back. I got curious so I drove into the parking lot and there were only a few people there! I feel like this is a hidden gem the people from the neighborhood don't discuss or talk about, because you guys were completely stocked with everything! Canned goods, dairy products eggs, and the infamous toilet paper. As well as paper towels! So I decided to come back this morning. My game plan was that I arrived early, to find out you guys actually open at 8 AM, instead of 9am which is a double whammy for me. The earlier the better. In an out ! Again- there was hardly anyone inside! And I really appreciate your sanitizer station with towels solutions and hand sanitizer!! This is a new situation, that resonates with me so deep! When a store has taken the adequate time to respect the situation that were in and then provide a space where you can disinfect before and after you leave, that's huge. Place really went downhill oven the past few years, I think there was a change in owners. We purchased 3 bags of plantain chips after buying the last bag from our regular GO(Whittier) and loved them. We devoured the 1st bag and both my GF and I got stomach aches. We attempted to return the unopened bag of chips a few days later without a receipt and were told NO. These Non GMO chips were only selling at GOs as they have a practice of buying out discontinued & soon to expire products from manufacturers. They were 2.99 and price wasn't the issue it was the fact they wouldn't even give us store credit. I came here for the first time to get a snack. I looked around and noticed some unique items. When it was my turn to pay the cashier, I requested cash back. The cashier had the audacity to slam his hand on the counter and point me in the direction of a no cash sign. Then I questioned him as to why the debit machine had given me that option to request it. His response, "because in order to remove that option would cost the store $1,000s." Wow! This guy was on one moody streak. We walk to buy groceries several times a week and have a backpack to carry our groceries home. Today the clerk rudely told us we were not allowed in the store with a backpack.
