Worst service ever from a manager!! (Big Mexican dude) Order a grocery pick up, checked in on my way (15 mins before) checked in when I arrived sat in the parking lot for 35 minutes, big order maybe they need extra time. Walk inside to check on my order and the manager drops it off in front of me and says someone will be with you to help you out and walks away. ANOTHER 15 mins pass and then a very nice young man comes out and helps me. I waited over an hour for my pickup!! read more

1/27/23 1 don't visit smart and final very often but when I get the chance, I always load up on fried products. Yep, they have the best French fries variety, hash brown Pattie's and onion rings. Prices are decent. Unfortunately, I under estimated my shipping ability and only picked up as basket. I only made it down 4 aisles. Next time I will definitely get a shopping cart instead. Your Home for Party foods! Anyone remember the green "avocado" sauce from little league?? Here's where you'll find it in a frozen big ol' jug. Anyone having a hard time finding Yoplait Lite yogurt? Here's where you'll find cases of that as well. Those are the two items that have us coming back to Smart & Final... but there are several other items that we stumble upon that keep us shopping and looking around once we are inside. Plus the prices are great! Produce seems to be pretty fresh, lots of regular grocery items are available as well as "big" items for parties and large gatherings. I don't shop here for my weekly groceries, but I don't see why one couldn't. There can be some large lines, just be prepared for that. And I agree with some other reviews that the employees can be "meh" and uninterested. La Habra S&F has easy parking and lots of surrounding stores. Great location. read more

Smart and Final you use to have to give your phone number to the cashier but now a days they don't need it. All the discounted prices is whatever it states on the price tag. That I like and if you have yet to step foot in Smart and Final it is almost like a mini Costco. They have a lot of items that are bulk such as you can get loads of wine bottles that are huge and gigantic but for a very very reasonable price. If you have a large family and they love cheese you can buy that too. Just imagine a place that sells everything but in a larger size. They sell food, drinks, candy, chips and a lot of different food items that you can make by popping them into an oven. This Smart and Final has a nice parking lot but does sometimes get a little bit busy. The cashiers are really nice and if you do need help just ask what isle it is in and they will help. During the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, most large chain stores are completely out of stock on essential items. I usually don't shop at this store but, decided to stop here for the weekly grocery run. I was surprised that the store was not packed for a Saturday afternoon. This was a good sign to me. The store was clean and had most of the items I needed on my grocery list. The store employees are very nice. One of the female clerks help load a pack of water into my cart. Smart and Final is a lot more calm and easy to shop at during the current restrictions. When you pick up your shopping cart out front, they have sani wipes to disinfect before use. The check out lines are labeled for social distancing. The cashiers are very helpful and kind with all customers. It's nice to see these retailers pulling together to provide great service to the community. read more

I can appreciate how S&F is currently handling the COVID-19 situation. At times they have an employee outside managing the amount of customers in the store-- usually during peak hours. Carts and hand-held baskets are sanitized for your convenience. At the moment, only customers with masks are allowed in the store, as it is like in most large retail and grocery stores. Currently the meat is being limited to 2 per type: pork, beef & chicken. Toilet paper and paper towels are still non-existent, but those are swallowed whole by customers as soon as they arrive so it's understandable. Some dry goods are 2-4 max per guest/household. Employees are pleasant and helpful as always. They're wearing gloves and masks to protect themselves and our community. Kudos to S&F La Habra! read more

First off the lines in the store are HORRIBLE the people working there chat with the costumers in line even though a bunch of people are waiting behind them. But whatever, besides that they have moldy food. See my attached pictures. The string cheese we got was completely molded- disgusting! I'm pregnant and they're lucky I didn't eat that or I would have went above and beyond to make it a big deal. We only bought these cheeses yesterday evening and the expiration date isn't until November so they probably don't refrigerate them right away when packing them. read more

I always find what I want there! I visited various smart and finals and the employees are always professional.

One of my complaints is they never have enough registers opened. The line has to get pretty long before they call for help. Also I believe he's a Manager, but Duane is not helpful at all. On a few occasions when the lines are long, he won't open a line to help out. Customer Service should be the number priority, take care of the customers then go back to your other work. I liked coming here, and will likely miss it as I'm moving to Oregon this week. But, for what it's worth, I shopped here on a regular basis. They have decent store offerings generally in bigger item sizes which Smart & Final is known for. There's also produce, meat, bakery, and other sections of the store that are there, but disclaimer, I don't really partake in, as (no offense) other stores like 99 Ranch Market have what I want in those departments not to mention at lower price points. Anyway, I tend to come here for shelf stable snacks like crackers, chips, soda, that sort of thing. Kudos to the store for offering mobile-first payment solutions like Google Pay and Apple Pay. Unlike at other retailers (cough Sprouts), these payments don't take forever; forever as in processing doesn't take 10+ seconds where you're just standing at the terminal wondering if the point-of-sale systems are just broken. Smart & Final's NFC processing is pretty fast, and my only wish is that they take it to the same speed as Ralphs/Krogers (less than 1 second for NFC processing, likely due to some instant caching mechanism). Oh, also, wish the store had WiFi, but since Smart & Final isn't niche like other retailers (Sprouts, Home Depot, Whole Foods), I don't think it's mandatory that they go digital-first yet as their existing signage is sufficient for navigating customers around to where they need to go in a store. I like the convenience of this location, it's always neat and clean however they have overcharged me twice. You have to keep an eye on every single scanned item. I was charged reg price on both steak and chicken instead of the sale price which was a significant difference. Both times I noticed after I got home and it's such a hassle to go back and get it corrected. So 1 star for that, please check your receipts! read more

I use to go to this Smart & final and had to stop. The first time I noticed that the employees didn't wear their masks correctly and as I was checking out another customer was not wearing their masks properly and no one corrected them. The second time I had to buy the bulk of butter and thought to give it another try but even the lady at the cashier admitted that she didn't want to tell parents that their child needs a mask even if they are old enough to wear it. I realized that if they are not as careful with as simple as wearing a mask what more on their products. Are they even sanitizing the carts? Are they making sure that employees and customers are safe? I'd rather pay extra to go to trader joes or sprouts and be safe. read more

I LOVE this store..always nice and clean, employees are so nice, I even know them by name..and they know mine. Its like that old tv show, Cheers..when you walk in, and everyone knows your name, lol. I come in there, around 3-4 times a week..they have good prices on all the stuff i want, I mostly go there to get the 1 liter diet coke, wish they would bring back the 1 liter diet dr. pepper..you guys used to carry it up to a few months ago, dont know why you stopped. I recently visited this smart and final and I had a great experience! I was able to find the toilet paper I needed, the nacho cheese I love, and some peanuts! I was greeted and given a cart by an employee in the parking lot before I entered the store. I walked around the store and when I went to the checkout I saw the lines were long. No problem, stores usually have long lines. Then the girl from the parking lot, who gave me the cart, came to the front and opened a checkout for me and I was able to get out of the store quickly. Her name started with a S and she had a black shirt on. She was really friendly and the checkout was quick and easy. read more

I am writing not for a review on a store per se but for the online ordering part of this. I realize that times are really tough at this time but when Smart and Final sends out a giant RED ad stating that we can easily order online I jumped on this feature as I cannot get out. I ordered plenty to qualify for delivery. Then it stopped me from checking out as there were no available time slots for delivery. I called the customer service number about 25 times before I could get a live person. (the voice mail I left was never returned) The man told me that I needed to wait until midnight and then time slots would open up. I stayed up until 12:30 this am and nothing ever opened up. I am surely disappointed in this whole false advertising scheme. It is NOT the way to go. This ad is going into the trash and I will find another way to shop elsewhere read more

This place is like a micro-Costco without the membership fee. Though they do not sell fresh chicken bakes or hot dogs with a soda for $1.50, they sell items in bulk that I can't find a better deal on elsewhere. I come to Smart & Final primarily to purchase dispenser paper towels and toilet seat covers in bulk. You can find them here in big boxes for a good price. They also have a lot of cleaning supplies available here in big containers for a cheaper price compared to other grocery stores, like Walmart, Target or Albertsons. Smart & Final also has lots of to-go containers in bulk, as well as coffee cups and filters. read more

Sorry to say but Smart and Final In La Habra has made me a Walmart shopper for life!! Ran in on my lunch break to get 4 items, went to the 10 and less items line and the customer in front of me had a shopping cart FULL of party good items well over the posted 10 items or less sign. When I asked the cashier why was she allowing the shopper to get in this line she say "0h it doesn't matter", well to me a shopper on limited time or does matter!!. The Customer then tells me, ( trying to justify her inconsiderate behavior) that all the other lines were not opened!. People behind me in line left, I choose to stay and the cashier called for the manager. Well a young man I guess was the Manager comes and takes me to another line, when I asked him why would the Cashier not just the tell the customer that it was a 10 or less line And she needed to go to another open line his statement was " oh no one listens". Well first of all it was a sign so it should have been read and the Cashier should be trained to enforce the sign so that people will "listen" and act accordingly or just take down the sign!!. I think perhaps if they are not listening to the Manager, you need another MANAGER!! read more

I wouldn't expect them to have as much as Wal-Mart but they don't have a much selection as Vons even. Just one comment: in times of this pandemic where everyone is encouraged (must be required) to wear masks, I can't believe that reusable masks (basic blue/white) are being sold for $1.99 each. They should be sold for considerably less like 50cents to at least motivate people to wear them if they don't have any.
