Even though I come here once in a while, I only recently found out that they do fish fry. I guess a lot of Ralph's shoppers in the LA basin and other parts already knew this but I wanted to give it a try. Basically they will fry any fish behind the glass counter, so nothing prepacked. The flavor choices are lemon pepper and Cajun, and possibly one more. When you select your fish, the butcher will ask you to wait around 10 minutes, so you can continue shopping. The finished product is so perfect and such an awesome deal when you think about it. I ordered 2 huge pieces of tilapia and 3 pieces of swai for around $15 (varying based on the market price). One piece of fish cooked this good would cost at least $20 to $30 on a plate with sides at a restaurant. Anyway, I was so satisfied and I plan to do this once or twice a month. Also, love the cleanliness and customer service at this Ralph's overall. That's why I come back. read more

Hadn't stopped by here for a while, although I have ordered grocery delivery from here a few times over the past few months. As far as prices, I feel like Ralph's is hit or miss. Some items are priced fairly while others are sky high and I can get it cheaper even at Target. I came by today because they have a large selection of gift cards, more than other stores in the area. Thankfully it wasn't too packed or crazy, despite the busy parking lot. Check out pretty quick and customer service was average. read more

600pm, Saturday, November 08, 2025 I stopped by Ralph's before picking up my order at the Shack across the shopping center. I was searching for the Boar's Head salads in the deli. Their display doesn't hold very many I suppose as they're weren't any available. I was able to pickup some other house deli salads that were marked down. I got a small broccoli salad with bacon as I've never had it before. A very tasty side salad. I picked up a medium sized edamame caviar salad. I'm sure there's no actual caviar in there. It's a edamame salad that includes garbanzos, moong bean, pearled barley, rice, navy bean, couscous, wheat berry, diced red & green onion, red pepper, sea salt, and EVOO. I'm not sure all incredients were in there. No barley, rice, couscous, nor wheat berry! WTH??? I also picked up the SW Style Taco Salad with Chicken... Hmm, not a very tasty salad and will choose others that are better in taste and flavor. Even at a reduced mark down, not a salad I'd enjoy. The Turkey BLT Salad was slightly better but I picked out the cucumbers that were already shopping signs of mold. I rate this variety better than the taco salad. The simplest broccoli salad was the best of the four I selected. The bean salad has a misleading label on it. Only edamame and garbanzo in there. read more

Ralph's, in the Brea Town Center, one of my two of my groceries store out of the many supermarkets in my area. I like the familiarity of the store layout, self-checkouts and friendly staff working during the weekends. Or maybe, the convenience to drop on during my lunch hour to garb some times missed during my grocery runs!!! This location, as well as the one in Cross Road Center, have an in-house Pharmacy but no Starbucks in-store kiosk since the brick-and-mortar Starbucks is within walking distance. If ordering via the store app, there are ample pick-up times to choose, and spaces reserved for online order pick up. The Ralph's sushi bar makes daily batches and sometimes I'm lucky to see BOGO offer for California rolls. I like visiting the deli counter for fried potato wedges and cuts of Boars Head meat. I tend to skip Kroger brand bagged apples as there's bruises than individual apples. I also tend to try to look for deals at the floral section offering some "older" flowers at steep discounted prices. Overall, this Ralph's is good for weekly trip food staples and every section has some in-store sales. read more

This grocery store is a joke. I've shopped at the Brea store for 25+ years and did a soft ban on it a couple years ago. I'd leave there mad EVERY time. Stockers blocking the isles, no deli service in the morning, lack of deals, lines, and overcharging/mismarked tags (a huge problem) Now I see they had to partition off the cosmetics/toiletries isles for theft. No one's fault but their own. Also, management needs to hold the few bad employees accountable. It's a customer service operation. Smile and acknowledge customers. Btw, maybe Ralph's Corp could reduce their constant marketing campaigns and use that savings to actually improve their stores and have competitive prices. No one seeks out a store because they hear it's "Fresh for EVERYONE". Vomit. Woke. Crap. I gave them a try after over a year of avoidance, and ended up putting my groceries back and leaving. Ralph's what can I say, I don't really come here often, but every so often. We stopped in to get some fried chicken and sushi I know random combo lol and some other things. We have been here many times but it's not my favorite store. They don't have the best selection of items and I feel like they are a little more expensive than they should be as like every store though. This isn't my go to store but it is nice that they carry things other store don't. Isn't it funny that we have to go to different stores just to find certain items? Lol but overall all the employees are so nice when we got the fried chicken we got it fresh and the batter was nice and crunchy fluffy which was delicious, the lady who helped us was so kind and smiled :) thank you so much wish I got her name. I would get it again lol. I do like this grocery store for certain things I know a lot of people shop here so I would recommend it I just wish they had better deals. I went to this store yesterday around lunchtime. I headed to the Starbucks section first, placed my order, and waited at the pickup counter. I hate to describe it this way, but I'm not even sure if he was an employee or a customer. This large white man kept walking around and staring at me, and it honestly scared me. I couldn't help thinking, what the heck is going on? I felt discriminated against because I'm not white. After I grabbed my drink, I continued shopping. Went to Ralph's today and I had to get assistance and The Cashier Andrew was so understanding and helpful. He helped us with our return and explained how certain digital coupons have a minimum amount that can be purchased. He helped us with our problem and we were in and out quickly. Yes we had a small hiccup in the beginning but Andrew made us feel welcomed. read more

Genuinely some of the worst produce selection I've seen. Every time I go the produce I'm looking for isn't fresh, or just not even there.

I only come here cause it's the closest and cost effective. But service here SUCKS. People are NOT FRIENDLY. Also why the hell do you charge me 75 cents for cash back?! I finally went to have someone ring me up and why did the cashier throw the barrier bars down the conveyor bar that separated my groceries from the next person? They didn't even put their 1 item down. So damn erratic. read more

I asked the lady at the self-checkout if she could scan their store's Ralphs card for me since mine was on a different key. She said no because I wasn't from out of state. I normally shop at stater bros, but I just moved to Brea and this store is less than 5 min from me, so I took my sisters advice and shopped here. I did not like my experience. When I walked in there was a worker sweeping the floors with those big dust mops, I had my baby with me so my stroller was in front of me, this guy speed walks past me with an annoyed looking face. Overall this store had a good selection of food and some of their prices were decent. I saw atleast 20 workers throughout my walk, none of them greet you everyone just seems rude and annoyed. When I got to self check out the lady who was watching over the machines was friendly, until two Hispanic ladies who didn't speak Spanish came, she no longer wanted to help, she completely walked away and when the women requested help she gave them attitude. I lost my receipt from a week ago. I need one to get reimbursed for the expenses I incurred. I went by the store yesterday to ask for a duplicate receipt. I was advised to call the next morning (today) to speak to the book keeper. I called this morning. I was asked for information I don't have: transaction number, check stand number, etc. I lost my receipt so I don't have this information; I do have CC number, amount, time, and date of purchase. Then I'm placed on hold for about 40-45 minutes, with no further updates or conversation with anyone. I gave up and hung up. My call started at 8:15 am. My phone clocked 52 minutes for the entire call. I called customer support again in about 3 hours. Of course, they remembered my call. I tried to express my discontent about being left dangling, but the customer support person kept interrupting me. After a few minutes of this back and forth, he hung up on me. Is this the norm when dealing with customers? Did I catch somebody on a bad hair day? You mean bookkeeper can't do a query on transaction database and find the one I made? Don't think I'll be shopping here again anytime soon. read more

Very bad customer service. I am always a fans of Ralph's. This is my first time going to this location. I checked online if they have the item I am looking for before going to the store. I checked several times on the aisles that it should be in and not able to find it. I asked two different staffs and they just told me the aisles it should be in. I told them I checked several times on those aisles they mentioned. And ask if they can help me to check in system which shelf it is located. They refused. They even didn't try to go to that aisle and double check. They just say no. I always like shopping in Ralph's. But is it the customer services that I should be received? Other stores have good service. But this store was terrible! I urged the company take into the customer service in this location and it is important to provide training to the staff in this store. read more

I used to order sandwich trays at Vons but was forced to find somewhere else after they closed. I've ordered a few times from Ralph's with no issues until today. I usually order 2 meats and 2 cheeses to keep it simple. They got my order wrong and when I called, the manager didn't even apologize. She said "oh they probably got confused" and said I could bring it back for a refund...but I needed the sandwiches hence the reason for ordering them in the first place. The response to that was "well my chef already left for the day and I don't know how to do that." It was 1pm. Then she finally offered to see if someone could come in and said they could redo it in an hour (which was 2 hours after my pickup time and after guests were due to arrive). So basically I was stuck with expensive crappy sandwiches. They didn't even use deli rolls for some of them and just used plain sandwich bread. My husband said the girl that was working in the deli seemed overwhelmed as it was and couldn't ring them up (and she was getting frustrated). Never ordering from here again. Vons did make a mistake one time (they made 1 tray of sandwiches instead of 2). They were extremely apologetic, spring into action and said they have it done in 10 minutes, and gave us extra sandwiches for the inconvenience (which was really nice of them, but wasn't necessary). Been shopping here for over 20 years. I think I'm done at this point. The last 5 times I've been in this place when I'm done shopping I walk up to all of the check stands closed except for the "self checkout stands". There is one lady trying her best to help the herds of customers standing in line learn how to check themselves out while at least 3 other employees (one I think may be the manager) are talking amongst themselves at the front desk watching it all. This Ralphs is in the Brea Gateway Shopping Center. It's right around the corner from my work. I just went there on my lunch break to pick up a few things. Two of the things that I needed were toothpaste and deodorant. I was stopped by an employee who told me that I had to pay for those two items in that section. Wait, what? I looked around and realized that two aisles are surrounded by glass walls. I told her that I was done with my shopping and I'm going right there to check out, motioning to the self check out 15 feet away. It doesn't matter, you have to pay here she told me. Like I'm going to steal $8 in personal hygiene products. I sure was treated like someone that could not be trusted. I told her that no other grocery store does this to which she replied, "well I don't know about that". Oh really? Stater Bros, Albertson's, Target, Walmart, none of these stores do this. I will NEVER go back to Ralph's again. They are the most expensive grocery store around. Between the groceries and my deodorant and toothpaste, I spent over $35 and the receipt says that i "saved .50 cents". Gee thanks. I only went there because I just needed a couple of items. Almost every single worker at the Brea store are rude. Meat department: The 2 workers back there follow each other like robots. They act like we are bothering them when we need help or to ask a question. Also, they were walking shoulder to shoulder up by the checkstand and were asked a question about check out, they said they have no idea and shook their head in disbelief they were even asked the question. Checkstand: checkers and baggers are rude. A customer was looking for a extra lane because one was backed up, a light was on no checker there, a worker walks up to it, the customer asked politely if she was open, the worker looks up at her light and says "my light is on". Baggers just throw your groceries in with anything in bags. Bread with frozen, you suggest something they side eye you. An attitude adjustment is seriously needed. This is just the Brea store. I stopped going to Ralphs a while ago. Had to come in early this morning and about my visit was annoying. One, having to use an app for a coupon for milk coupon. Always only self-check out open. I hate self check out. Then, I didn't bag correctly so the machine started beeping and wouldn't finish the transaction. Lastly, Ralph's prices for basics (milk, eggs, bread) is high and most other things are very high. I used to work at Ralphs. Prices were high but we tried to take care of customers back then. If this is what it takes for a grocery to stay competitive, I don't know what to say. Just sad. I will only return for an emergency. read more

I go to this store at least 3 times a week for my grocery store trips but I will no longer be shopping at Ralphs, period. I will happily go out of my way to go to Albertsons or Stater Brothers and not support a store where they do not recognize service dogs, for anyone other than the blind, and kicked out a veteran who fought for our country and his service dog from shopping at this location. I am appalled and surprised that the ignorance of the management is being condoned. Here is my friend Justin (veteran) and Zeus (service dog given to him by Rebuilding Warriors) story below: Ralphs your store manager just kicked me out of the store for having my service dog with me. Mr.Burr approached me with intent to kick me out. He stated " you can't have your dog here" I replied with "he is a service dog" his response was he has no identification. I told him to look at the collar and he said "we only recognize dogs for the blind as service dogs, you need to leave" I told him it is illegal to kick me out because of my service dog and he proceeded to tell me to leave.... Went here several days ago and a not-so-genius old woman cashier with a pink sweatertold me to go buy my alcohol in self checkout

This review is for the pick up experience. I have now done three pick ups at this location and have had issues during two. On my second visit, I was missing two items but when I let the store know via a survey it was immediately fixed and handled very well. This most recent visit was frustrating. I get that it is the week of Christmas but their system allowed more pick ups than what they could handle. My original pick up window was from 10am to 11am. I got a voicemail at 9:30 asking if I could come anytime after 11. I got on the app at 11:50 and marked that I was on my way. When I got to Ralph's I marked that I was here and what parking space I was in. After waiting for about ten minutes someone asked for my name and let me know they were running behind. It ended up being one hour before my groceries were brought out. I did get $10 off for waiting and of course I understand how busy they are but it is frustrating that this cost me an hour of my day instead of saving me time. I do love with an at risk individual so pick up is the safest for me and I prefer to shop at Ralph's. But Walmart has been a much easier experience when it comes to pick ups. read more

I went in this morning to buy a few items and felt like a criminal. I go at 6am when I need grocerie because there's almost nobody there. I have High Anxiety so its the best time for me to go. I brought my cart up to the self checkout because I like the privacy early in the morning. Not today, there was nobody there so I walked over to grab some bags and heard from behind "Can I help you?" It was the store manager, I replied " Im getting some bags for my items, is that okay?" She walked passed me mumbling something. So I took a bag and opened it. I started ringing up my items. She rudely came up and said " After you ring up your items, put them on the side here so I can see that you ring up your items". What? Then she removed the items I already bagged and checked the screen to be sure. I've never been so humiliated in my life. I looked around snd there was three other people ringing up their items by themselves. I asked her " Do you want to ring up my items so you can see everything and don't have to stand over my shoulder watching my every move?" She rang up my items and bagged em. Then she saw I had three bags and asked "why did you get three bags if you only needed one?" I will make it my mission every time I go there to make her bag my items. read more

This was my first time ordering curbside pickup. The prices are great!! But when I came home I noticed that my mushrooms were rotten. I know things happen so I called the store and spoke to Vladimir, he told me over the phone that it was no problem just to come and bring the rotten mushrooms and he would replace them. I came into the store and as soon as he saw me he knew it was me ( the mushroom lady LOL ) he helped me right away and he even got me a bigger mushroom box!!!! Today marks my last day shopping at this Ralphs. I've been coming to this store for over 10 years but recently noticed the service has degraded significantly. The staff is no longer friendly and helpful like they once were. This morning I phoned the Customer Service line inquiring about something, the phone rang forever and when it was finally answered, I got scolded at and hung up on. I called them right back because I couldn't make up what the lady was saying with her yelling but the call was ignored. The benefits of Ralphs grocery include ralphs card savings, quick and easy deli and bread area and decent checkout time. Every ralphs store has different characteristics which make it a 2, 3, 4 or 5 star. This Ralphs has its good and bad, overall I left pretty content. The floor was unique, like no other Ralphs I had seen before. For my fellow Mexicans, think of that Primo's house with no carpet or floorboards just dark concrete. The carts were not very visible and neither was the cart return. The bread section was on the other side of the deli area. I did not see as many bargains as ralphs stores closer to home. However, with many positives I will not harp on the negative. Things which balance this stores rating include the fact the symetry was great and the aisle space was pretty good. BEER and Wine on adjacent aisles, and Plenty!! of it. The cashiers and customers seemed generally calm and freindly. They had a self service salad and sandwich meat area. They had city of Brea jackets for sale. Parking was good, its next door to the Brea shopping/hang out area tucked away with theatre, shops, eateries, lots of foot traffic, night lights and night life. On my way out a little boy sold me a coupon book for ten bucks. Overall, no complaints. read more
