We've been buying our carne asda here for over 10 yrs & it's alwayz been bomb! I'm surprised someone had a bad experience with the meat bcuz we've always have it fresh. I think they do have nee middle eastern owners but I haven't had a bad expeience with anyone there. The only prob I had several months ago was when I got queso fresco- when I got home it tasted like crab meat I think they had it near the seafood and it smelled and tasted nasty- Ither than that no prob.. We have also eaten the food here too and it's really good- my sons love the asada tortas, mole & burritos. They have different food on their hot table so everyday is something different. read more

I purchased 185.00 of Carne Asada. I think the health Dept needs to check compliances here. It was terrible everyone complained at how bad it was. It was tough, and had a taste like it had been refrigerated for sometime. Worst I've ever had. Waste of my hard earned money. The cashier was rude and wouldnt give me a itemized receipt. Great little place for Mexican Food. Their sopes, burritos and Menudo are for the most part on point. There were times where depending on who is cooking can be disappointing. We had stopped going for a while. In the last 3 visits they have been consistent and their food always hit the spot. Great portion, flavor and been going to this place since the late 90s with my parents buying us food. Now as adults, we go to this place as our rotation. read more

I have been on the search for a good menudo spot in La Habra and I have to say I found a spot this place was not only clean but the service was fast and the people where friendly and if you need some groceries you can also do a little shopping also since they are a market. The menudo had so much flavor and they where not stingy with the meat and they actually have a option for harmony. I love a menudo that has harmony I feel like it brings out the flavor and good balance. The menudo was a little oily but when mixed in it was not to bad .The portion size is a really good size. It comes with the basics as in cilantro onion a side of corn tortillas. I definitely recommend this place not only does this place only have have Menudo but it has other plate options that also look delicious I will be going back soon to try there other plates they have a available. read more

Awesome marinated meats! Tiny little shop, with very limited parking! Although there is parking on the streets! It's a meat market/ restaurant! When you enter over to right of the store there are a couple of tables with benches where you can sit down and eat! The meat department is over to the rear! Very friendly staff, they let you sample the food before you buy! Super delicious! This is the real deal! This is not El Torito style Mexican food! I do not know how to cook beans (I know... Terrible) so I always look to see where I find the closest I can to how my parents make them and let me tell you here they are really good! The lady working even suggested I take a larger size and me like an idiot I said "No thank you"! Big mistake! The meat prices are all right but the quality of the meat is worth it! The Ranchera was really soft not difficult for my littles to chew! All in all, I am very happy I found this little shop! 4 stars!!!! read more

I have been coming to this meat mart every week since I moved across the street in 2017. The guy that works the meat counter has always been so cool, and their food is good. However today I was unfortunate enough to meet the so-called "new manager"? So here's the story: My brother gets home from work after TRYING to pick up some meat from La Michoacana. He told me that the credit card machines were down at the market, so it was cash only. My brother then went to the atm inside the store and pulled out cash. The person helping (Rajeen? manager?) then told my brother the scales were not working, and that he couldn't calculate a correct price. The bag said $10.17 cents on the sticker already, but he said it wasn't right and that he couldn't sell it. My brother then said he would pay $15, he didn't care, we just needed the meat to feed our dogs. He said he couldn't. My brother who has also been coming here for years, asked to speak to the manager, or someone that could help him. At this point the clerk (Rajeen?), points to the sign that says "right to refuse service to anyone" and had my brother leave the store. Needless to say, my brother was very upset when he got home, and tried explaining the situation to me. I couldn't really comprehend the situation, and thought it had to be some kind of misunderstanding. So I call the market, and the guy at the back counter that I normally work with, tells me I can come by with some cash, and he confirmed the total of $10.17. I asked him to confirm that I will be able to purchase the meat if I came by with cash, and he said "yes, it's $10.17". So now on to my personal interaction with the so-called manager: I enter the store and am Immediately greeted with a stern "cash only". I turned to him and could tell that this was the man my brother was dealing with. I told him that my brother was just by, and that he refused service to him. I told him that I just spoke with the guy in the back, that we normally deal with, and he said to come by, and the total was $10.17 (same price my brother was given originally) I showed him my cash, and told him that I just wanted to get some meat for my dogs, and I'd be on my way. He shrugged his shoulders and said "scales aren't working". At this point, I could tell that I wasn't dealing with a manager. I asked for his name, he said "why? what's your name?". I snapped back at him "I don't need to give you my name and any respectable manager wouldn't have a problem giving out his name". He points at the "right to refuse service sign" again while looking down. I laughed at him and told him I was going to go to the back and talk to the guy I've been dealing with for years. The guy in the back was nice as usual, and had the bag on the counter, waiting for me, with a smile on his face. I tried to explain to him, that the guy up front wouldn't let me buy the meat, but he didn't understand. There was a lady waiting and kind of watching the entire situation unfold, and she was nice enough to help me translate the situation. She was confused with the situation as well. The lady started asking all the same questions as me and was very interested in the way the manager was acting. The so-called "manager" came to the back and was talking with all 3 of us (my meat counter friend, the spectator/translator lady, and myself). So now I'm upset and raising my voice, because I just want some chicken. I called ahead and confirmed pricing, my method of payment, I came instead of my brother (who was refused service for who knows what), and I felt like I was being very patient and reasonable at first, and that all has gotten me nowhere. So the manager actually pulls out his phone and puts it over the counter right in my face, without saying a word as if he is recording. I was shocked.. I stopped speaking and froze. I couldn't believe this guy was trying to peg me as a Karen, and before I had a chance to reflect on if I was actually being a Karen, my new lady friend steps into the camera frame and asked what his problem was. She told him that I had the cash, and that she didn't understand why he wouldn't check me out. He the lowers his phone, and I'm assuming stops the recording. This lady was so nice! She stayed with me the entire time, she even checked out for me, because he still refused to deal with me. Rajeen, or whatever his name his, just wanted to have an attitude with me. Anyways... My review is out of space. I could write a book about this "manager". Long story short: I found out this guy was the owner's son, and still he never gave me his name. I have been a loyal customer, coming here every week for the last 5 years, and love dude in the back, but I will never this place my business again. I hope the owner sees this and I hope he removes his son, as he is a poor reflection of your business and it's hard working employees. read more

Oh my gosh, YES!!!! I've fallen in love. Awesome prices and great selection. I think this is my favorite meat market around, actually. Not only do they have the freshest meat counter with tons of options, but they've also got cooked items to go and what won my heart was the Carnitas Family Style!! You get meat, beans, rice, tortillas and some condiments (onions, cilantro, lemons) plus salsas for way less than you would pay (and less hassle) if you cook it on your own. Perfect for picnics, parties, concerts in the park or just an easy dinner at home! Shop around too... that meat counter is not the only highlight of the place. The marinated meats weren't bad but the attitude from the employees. The butcher rolled his eyes at me because I had quickly changed my mind on the pounds I wanted. Not sure if they are racist thinking I'm white because I didn't speak Spanish.. Or just not friendly people. Either way lighten up the attitude or you'll lose customers. read more

Then took an order for a man behind me and I watched her serve him and then another man came in and she served him 2 orders to go and chatted for 10 mins then watched him leave. Then she looks at me and ask for here or to go and I said to go and got up and walked out. Rude was it because she thought I didn't speak Spanish. I don't know but it was rude. Tried the carne asada and chicken for the first time. The high quality season meat was $12 per pound and it was really tender and juicy. The cheaper me was not as good but still flavorful. The chicken was tasty. Definitely recommend coming at least once so you can judge for yourself. Would show picture but my kids ate all the meat. read more

Horrible! Went in for menudo and was asked if I wanted hominy in it. I asked the woman if the hominy was soft(cooked) or firm. I was told it was soft so I said yes. I got the menudo with the hominy still stuck to each other straight from the can. So disgustingly firm. I told the lady and she said it didn't matter because menudo cost the same with or without hominy and she served the same amount of menudo anyways. One of my favorite carnecerias, and a monthly requirement of mine to shop at. This time, I picked up a few avocados & limes, some tortillas, and about 2 lbs of their "preparada" -- an insanely delicious & tender marinated flapsteak. The recipe they use for the marinade has a little kick but not much, and is really light in oil -- there's no chance in hell I'd be able to make it as good as they do. This week, I discovered the secret to getting the freshest items is to get here before the church-crowd, which is about 1030AM. Their shelves are packed neatly & much taller than the larger chain stores, and the vege/fruit selection is organized well - every nook & cranny is filled. Looking around my new neighborhood I found this little gem! We got carne asada here for Easter ( 17lbs) and it was soooooo good! Tender and perfectly flavored. I love the way they package the meat here...they lay it out so nicely so its easy for you the take each piece out without making a mess ( most markets I have experienced a ball of carne asada in a bag...ugh frustrating!). Service was excellent they even gave us some samples. Prices were good if not better then the stores. Will be coming back for sure! read more

I like their food here but I wish they could tell some of these ladies to not picking up my roasted chili and holding it in the palm of gerbare hands, touching my tortilla, grabbing the tip of the forks.. all with their bare hands and then take the order pad and pen to write the receipt and who knows what else without washing their hands. So unsanitary! Came back and give them one more try and their cleanliness is none! She flipped our foam container upside down laying it on the dirty counter then she splashed and spilled the soup all over the outside of the container dripping it down to the soup container. If you want Carne asada, do yourself a favor and get Tasajo. You won't be disappointed. I would go to a another location in paramount for that cut and they provide it here upon request. You will jot be disappointed, its the same cut of beef but thicker like a steak. read more

This carneceria is like the BEST in the neighborhood. I know the Butchers as I walk in they know what I like. I love getting to know the staff. I really love their carne asada Preparada and Marinated Chicken. My parents are fans of this carneceria. I always get the meat here as it's always FRESH. The Market it's small but you arent really there for much but to get the necessarities. I havent tried there Tiny Restaurant in there. The only thing i think is bad if you needed somme beer to go with your meat than i wouldn't suggest this place. At least I haven't seen it. read more

I mostly go there for their menudo. It was good until today. My wife brought some home for breakfast and it is not the same it had an extra spice taste to it. Someone else must be making it because it was very bad....I'll have to find another place for my menudo fix on Sundays. read more

Worst service ever! I used to love this place, but, around 4 months ago they hired new help. This lady is very rude, and couldn't care less about the customer. Did not shop much for groceries here but usually pretty good and the meat was good as well. What you really come for is the food, there is a little nook of a kitchen in the corner that turns out some awesome food that never fails, the tortas or tacos are solid. read more
