Grizzly River Run at Disney California Adventure is one of the most impressively themed river rapids rides I've ever experienced. Even though it's currently closed for refurbishment, just walking by the area is a reminder of how epic the scenery and vistas really are. The theming is so immersive that it genuinely feels like you've wandered into a forest instead of a theme park. This is easily one of the best examples of environmental storytelling in the park, and I always slow down when passing through just to take it all in. When it's open, this ride is best saved for hot days when getting completely drenched feels refreshing instead of alarming. It's a soak you sign up for knowingly, and honestly, that's part of the fun.

When there is a warmer day, this is the perfect way to cool down. I always joke karma will be dealt during the ride. Sometimes just a splash and other times you get drenched! Always a fun ride with friends to see how we will exit the ride, though I only do when warm as I don't like to be cold and wet. Enjoy if you ride and be prepared to get wet! Pro tip: there are lockers across the entrance you can use if don't have a waterproof bag.

Okay, if you do not mind being soaked through. This ride is GREAT. Now if you do not want to be walking with soggy wet butt, then you may want to avoid this ride like the plague OR if you're like us, bring a super large poncho or garbage bag and cover yourself head to toe and you'll enjoy this ride for sure. L O C A T I O N Grizzly River Run is basically to the right past Soarin' and Disneyland's Grand Californian Hotel. It's pretty much in an area that's dead. L I N E S So lines for this ride can be from walk on to loooooong because it's super hot. It makes sense because it's an easy way to cool down. But we went when it wasn't super hot but sunny, we went during late lunch time so that no one was there and we easily walked onto the ride. If there isn't any one in line, I'm sure the cast members will let you stay on. But if there is a line of any size, they will ask you to disembark and get back in line. E X P E R I E N CE They do have lockers you can lock up items so that they won't get wet because EVERYTHING I mean EVERYTHING will get wet. It's across from the ride entrance. It's a circular raft with a few stair entrances. If you sit near those stairs, you will get drenched. If you want your socks and shoes to stay relatively dry, put them on top of the center area otherwise, placing them on the floor or lifted a little beneath you, they will get soggy. You get to ride the rapids though. Lots of spinning areas, water splashes, dips, it's super fun. So if you do get dizzy when spinning, you may also avoid this ride. O V E R A L L Not a ride I'll always go on, but when we do, it's a rip roaring soaking good ol' time.

Like WET fun??? Like to spend money on new Disney gear? 4 of our group decided to make this their first ride on our Day 2. The line was empty at 8 pm the night before but it would make for a cold ride home. Hubs and I waited at a vantage point to catch a video of them in their twirling water craft at the mercy of the dips, turns and drenching water covering their bodies. Drowned rats? Pretty much what they looked like. Good marketing tactic to have a clothes store right there. Three new t shirts purchased: Smokey the Bear, a blue light long sleeve and a character tee. Sweetie was smart enough to put a complete set of dry clothes in her red backpack that Doc had gotten her. I definitely wanted to ride that in the heat of the day. Today is our Day 3. Will I be granted a complimentary soaking? Stay tuned.

If you are hot and feeling like big splash water to your face and whole body, then this is the great attraction for you! You'll be literally wet from head to toe!! Some people bring ponchos from outside since inside one ponchos for $13!!! Quite expensive so I recommend you get it before you come to the park here. Waiting time was the longest one for us but we enjoyed it a lot after all! Come and enjoy the refreshment!

We had a BLAST!! Good thing we had some Disney ponchos ..we were soaked ..no one else on the ride with us...the attendants (they are called cast members) were so helpful and Fisney friendly! 10 min wait on most lines...going on a Tuesday was a great idea! We didn't drown!

Prepare to get wet!!!!!! You might get lucky and won't hit all the major dips. But the raft spins as you float down the river! So you have no control over the raft. It's just goes and spins around like crazy! You might think you are going down a dip backwards and then it twists and drenches the person next to you. It's so much fun! But except to get wet to some degree. This isn't a ride that you can get lucky on and get off completely dry. The options are wet, more wet, or drenched! lol I got off this ride being "more wet" and my bottom was soaked. The back of my sweatshirt was wet too. Just keep in mind that you will have to walk around the park with whatever level of wetness you experience.

Grizzly River Run is one of the original California Adventure rides. The ride has enough excitement that it has not had a face-lift to tie it in with a movie. The ride takes brave guests on a whitewater rafting trip. Rafts are on a track. The rafts slowly spin so everyone is experiencing forward, backwards and sideways, at some point. The ride was tame enough for my elementary school-aged child. Rafts disembark filled. One of the highlights of the ride is seeing people's reactions when they get wet. You will get wet. Some will get more wet than others. When the ride originally debuted, there was a center area with a velcro flap to help keep personal belongings dry. This was fairly impractical, as one backpack essentially filled the compartment. If you are worried about you or your belongings getting wet, I recommend a poncho. On our last ride, two of the four of us got soaked. The other two were slightly wet.

This ride is in Grizzly Peak in California Adventure park. Expect to get soaked through (head to toe) on this fun filled water river ride. The ride is a 8 person circular raft that spins. You strap in and there is a circular bar in the middle that you can hold onto if you like. It is mainly for reassurance than necessity. The ride starts out pretty tame. The raft is on a track that climbs up an incline. Then it releases down a steep descent into a wild wet river ride. Expect to get soaked and have a bunch of fun!! Along the way, there are dips and geyser spouts of water shooting up from the river. The building queue is modeled after a lumber mill from the 1920s. This ride has a detailed fictional back story. Grizzly Peak is the name of the top of the mountain that the ride is on. Look carefully, the peak is shaped as a head of a grizzly bear. According to folklore of the region, there once was a giant gentle bear that lived on the mountain and was transformed into stone to protect over the mountain forever. When I was visiting, the ride was down for one full day and intermittently another day. Finally on the third day, we were able to ride it. It is recommended to load up the Disney app so you look up info such as ride availability. You can buy rain ponchos at the Grizzly Peak general store. Also this ride has lockers you can use to store your items so they don't get soaked. The lockers have a 2 hour limit and are located to the left of the entrance, look for the big oversized smiling bear statue outfitted in water rafting gear.

Perfect for the summer heat!! It's been a brutal humid summer in SoCal (very rare) so we've been jumping on this ride to stay cool! I love this rapids ride! It's not too scary for the kids and has some nice drops. Know that you WILL GET WET! It's just how wet! During summer, they turn up the water levels vs winter time so there is more splash! The lines can get long but it's so worth the wait! Lots of shade in the queue helps out too! As you approach the ride, there is a cool turntable floor, watch your step getting into the raft! The raft has 8 seats and does spin as you go down the falls. Lockers are also available free of charge for up to 2 hours near the entrance. Love walking around towards the back near the waterfalls! Make sure to check those out! There's an entrance on the left of the queue line. There is a small shop to the right of the queue line where you can purchase ponchos if needed. Located inside Disney California Adventure Park. Definitely recommended!

This is a project in which elementary, middle, and high school choirs and bands performed at Valencia High School in the city of Placentia, CA, in the morning, and were then invited to visit Knott's Berry Farm for fun and the award ceremony in the late afternoon. We were thrilled that both our Bishop Amat Choir and Bands took home four first-place trophies across four categories. Back to Knott's Berry Farm, this amusement park is so much fun. It is a large property, and there is so much to see, do, and enjoy a great, memorable time. On this day, when we visited the park, it was a bit crowded (but fun nonetheless) as numerous school-aged choirs and bands were there, and it was also opening day for Knotts' Soak City water park. Knotts had a promotion for ticket holders who visited both parks on the same day. The crowds were no problem whatsoever as we ALL managed to get on numerous rides, listen to music, eat ice cream, and have bartered fish tacos for dinner. The park is well-maintained, employees were all extremely friendly and helpful, and security can be seen throughout the park to ensure everyone's safety. My family and I chose to purchase standard annual passes, which were very affordable at $120.09 per pass. Interest-free monthly payments are a great option if you prefer not to pay for your season pass in one shot. Now that my family and I have annual passes with parking included, we will definitely visit often, if only to have lunch or dinner at the park.

Use a credit card to book your room, so you can use their quick check in line. Either way, make sure you take the exact card you use to book for checking in. Before you go, buy the discounted dining deal. You can only buy it in advance, and the food and drinks are pretty pricey, so you will spend $$$. I also suggest attaching your credit card to your wristband for convenience. We really enjoyed the pizza place onsite. We checked in on a Sunday and it was a bit crowded, but we managed to do it all in three hours. The kids loved the bunk bed, and my only complaint about our room is that the tub faucet leaked. The next day, we packed a bag with a change of clothes that we fit into a small locker for $12, and went back into the waterpark for a couple more hours. I recommend packing travel toiletries for a quick shower before leaving. They have plenty of showers, changing rooms, and a swimsuit dryer, but no toiletries in the waterpark bathrooms. Waterpark towels are provided and must be checked out and in or you'll be charged, so don't lose them. There's a water bottle refill station in the waterpark near the bathrooms. We didn't try many of the activities offered except for the arcade that offered packages starting at $35. Lastly, be sure to pay for parking before you leave. That was also $35. All in all, we got a deal on the room but spent more on food, drinks, games, and parking combined. My kids are 5 and 10, and they were able to go on just about everything that was open. One day was plenty of time if you don't plan on doing all of the activities.

The issue is not necessarily that every employee was rude -- the real problem is the completely broken system and lack of communication between departments. We booked THREE rooms for 18 guests for a birthday celebration and simply wanted to reserve and pay for a place where everyone could eat lunch together and celebrate with cake. Something that should have been straightforward became an exhausting process filled with confusion, conflicting information, and endless transfers between departments. The front desk had no idea about the policies of the events department. The front desk also had no clear understanding of pool policies. Every single question required someone to "leave a note" for another department and wait for an email response that never came. No callbacks. No follow-up. No accountability. The most frustrating part was trying to contact the front desk directly. First, you are forced through an AI system. Then you finally reach someone in the "reservation department," who is not even onsite. Despite politely asking multiple times to be transferred directly to the front desk, they refused and insisted they could help. They could not. Instead, they placed me on hold supposedly to ask the front desk themselves -- and after 11 minutes on hold, they never came back. At that point, yes, the reservation department representatives themselves became part of the problem: rude, dismissive, unprofessional, poorly trained, and completely incapable of resolving even simple questions. This company has far too many unnecessary departments that clearly do not communicate or work together. Planning an important family event here became stressful instead of enjoyable. I will never host another birthday event at Great Wolf Lodge again, and I would strongly caution families against wasting their time and money here for important celebrations.
