Jumping' Jellyfish, is located by the water at California Adventure. It's definitely for little ones and maybe even an adult who is not too fond of actual roller coasters. The lines are quick as the ride is short. The ride and concept are very cute and my kids love this ride for its height without bent overly too tall. For your daring coaster lovers, this ride will be nothing. The ride is ok for me but I enjoy watching my little ones smile, and gives us a chance to take some great photos, so I take them here. They're only so little for so long. Maybe someday Disney will make it something Disney or Pixar related. At this time it's just Jumpin' Jellyfish. Go grab a corn dog or churro before or after the ride. They're super close to each other. read more

The lines are usually very short and the ride is pretty chill. Fear or thrilling would not be 2 words that I would associate with this ride. I jumped on the Jumpin' Jellyfish ride only because I was waiting on a Mobile Order and it was a very quick ride. You go up and down twice and that's it. I did have a really nice view of the Paradise Lagoon and Mickey Fun Wheel though. It is definitely meant for little kids who can't yet ride Guardians. If you are in the area, the line is relatively short and you'll get a small hit of dopamine when your ride is complete. This ride is near the Silly Symphony Swings side of the park. 3 Stars. read more

Unique ride! I think the jellyfish idea is so cute. It's really pretty looking up in the air too. It's too bad that jellyfish couldn't really fly, how cool would that be? In the pier revamp, this is one of the rides that has yet to be attached to a Pixar movie. I'm surprised the ride was not given a Finding Nemo link. The bright jellyfish have a cheerful look. The colorful jellyfish are especially beautiful when lit up at night. Jumpin' Jellyfish is geared towards younger visitors. My youngest enjoyed this ride. This is one of those rides I thought was just for "children". I had never boarded this ride in all my years of coming to DCA. So, the last time I was here, there was no wait time and I decided that it was time for liftoff and experience it. I really just wanted a vantage point off the ground to see the park. I've been on Pixar's Pal Around, but it takes what seems like forever to make the full rotation. I'd recommend this ride because it's quick, but maybe a little too quick! The ride is only one and a half minutes long. This Jumpin' Jellyfish ride first opened in 2001. Every time I've walked by, I look up and take an intriguing look at the tower and the fancy top. It is supposed to be reminiscent of a kelp bed from the ground up. Each brightly colored seat is connected to a jellyfish (looks like a parachute). It's a mild ride, nothing too exhilarating for thrill-seekers. It is great for just about any age. You will be lifted about 40 feet in the air and slowly come partially back down and up before finally making it to the ground. This is definitely a fun looking ride! It's especially pretty at night when it is lit up! read more

I avoided this ride for years and then one day I was like let's see how it actually is and you know what, it's totally worth it for 10 min or less. My fiancé and I loved it. It's cute. It's happy. This ride is one that both kids and adults may enjoy. Be advised that is isn't very friendly for those with curves and/or plus size. It was a great view, but a bit uncomfortable. I have been to Disneyland a million times but never went on Jumpin' Jellyfish until last week. It seemed carnival-esque to me and like a super kiddie ride. I have to say JJ proved me wrong in the fun department. Though I didn't expect much, that first pull up in the air had me screaming! They say it's for tweens, kids and preschoolers but I am an old lady and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My friend and I rode sans children and felt no judgment! When you zoom up to the top, you get some excellent views of California Adventure. The ride is meant to mimic the motions of a jellyfish with a smooth up and down type of motion while you're seated on a swing for two. It's colorful and cute, albeit a bit carnival-like. I could see this being a good 'test' drop ride for someone to see if they can do the ultimate drop ride - Guardians of the Galaxy. The ride is just a minute and a half but it's an enjoyable couple of minutes! I wish the ride were longer, of course - can't they have it run for 2 or 3 gos?! When we rode, there was no wait and I couldn't see myself waiting more than a few minutes for the ride. But if there's a minimal wait and you aren't afraid of heights, give it a go! read more

There is a height requirement of 40'' to ride this ride. It has small drops. The ride is Jelly fish themed. The ride has a lot of bright colors! It's one of the shorter rides within California Adventure. The ride consists of a variety of themed Jelly Fish. There are seats you sit in, similar to Guardians of the Galaxy or Tower of Terror. It smoothly goes up and down in slow motion. In the morning, there was no wait, but as the day continued into the afternoon and evening, the average wait during Spring Break was approximately 30-45 minutes. I wouldn't recommend this ride if the wait time is longer than 25 minutes. It's extremely short ride. read more

Ok, this mainly is a kiddo ride on the Pixar Pier. But aren't we all kids at heart especially when we're at Disneyland. Of course we are!! I rode this all by myself with no kiddos. Heck I rode it several times. I was in the area and there was no line. It is simple gentle rise and fall of 40 feet. You need to be 40 inches tall to ride. There are 6 " jellyfish" holding 2 people each. The seats are individuals seats that are side by side. You are seat nickeled in. The seats remind me of a patio swing with a cover on it, the cover is designed in bright fun colors with deigns mimicking a jelly fish. It's beautiful at night with the jellyfish glowing. All in all, it's a tame ride with not much action. Pretty quick ride. It's a good intro ride for the older taters ( preschoolers) and younger kiddos to get their feet wet into advanced rides. For an old fogy like myself I enjoyed it. read more

Go on this 20 times while psyching yourself out and then you can take off the training wheels for guardians. But, if you have really small kids and want to get a lot of rides in your day, this would be perfect. If not, skip it, there are better longer attractions. From the Golden Zephyr, one of the kids spotted Jumpin' Jellyfish. Since there wasn't much of a line, we checked it out on Sunday, November 18th probably a little before 10am. I'm pretty sure the height requirement for this one is 40", so the two little ones were not able to ride. The three older kids (I believe 4.5 to 7 years in age) were fine. I guess you could say this is like a tame version of guardians as it just goes up and down. But it doesn't go very high and it's a much slower ride. This is a pretty basic ride with lots of color. Not as intense as guardians of the galaxy and it goes up pretty high so you have a great view of Pixar pier at night. When I went, they only had one set working, so it took over 1 hour to get on. Ridiculous. The ride only goes up and down 3 times, so it's definitely made for the youngsters. I have annual passes to Disneyland and California Adventure, I have two daughters, one is autistic and loves the Jumping Jellies ride. Most of the time, the line is very short, so we ride it several times a visit. This ride has been ruined by a cast member, named Destiny, a young Hispanic woman. We were waiting in line and she screamed over the speaker to some children that were playing on the rocks around this attraction. It seriously upset my daughter, she started to cry which eventually led to a melt down, my family was forced to leave the park. She now is afraid to go on this ride. I complained to the cast member at the entrance of the ride as I was leading my sobbing daughter out of line. This employee informed me that this was her third complaint about this woman 's actions in her shift, and another incident involved a child also sobbing and exiting this attraction because of Destiny 's attitude and conduct. We used to visit frequently in the afternoon, these are a few incidents I have witnessed. As I was entering the ride with my two children, Destiny was gossiping about a toxic relationship she had with an ex with other cast members, instead of helping the guests, she continued to whine about her personal life with another female cast member and ignored her responsibilities. She yelled at a couple that had brought their children through the emergency exit, scaring the family away from the ride. She was screaming over the phone on another visit. She interrupted a conversation as another cast member was explaining how both parents could do a rider's swap, and was angry a baby was in line. The father entered through the emergency exit, and the other employee was in the process of communicating this to the couple. She was extremely rude to the other cast members and the guests. I talked to this cast member and she told me that Destiny is constantly rude to employees she hates and picks on them, she is verbally abusive to children and adults. This has been brought to the attention of management, and nothing is done. Disney is supposed to be known for their guest relations and giving the customers excellent experience. How is this woman still employed if this is a known ongoing issue? It is even more disgusting she is allowed to verbally abuse guests as well as other employees. Everytime I have seen this employee, she has been hostile and rude. It is even more concerning that she is working on a child's ride and children have to experience her rudeness! I doubt I will be renewing my annual passes mostly because of this young lady. My daughters can't enjoy the ride while she is working, as I have no idea if she will explode and take her anger out on someone else. Her behavior is appalling, and not the Disney standards. I really think the management is a disgrace for allowing this situation to continue. This employee has no business working with children and in no way should represent Disney experience. It angers me that this issue has repeatedly been an issue and Destiny is allowed to work with small children. How does this employee in any way represent the standard of conduct? These standards must have really lowered to allow her to act in such a disrespectful way to families, and young children. I am severely disappointed in this entire situation being allowed to happen over and over. It is obvious this woman has some serious issues she takes out on random people. I am disappointed and angry. I refuse to give my money to Disney anymore. This employee has tarnished my memories with my daughters. Disney should represent fun, and a unstable young woman that can't control her emotions and is vile and rude, has no business working on a child's ride. Do better Disney management. read more

I am a total fan of Jumpin' Jellyfish at California Adventure... Located right next to the Golden Zephyr on Paradise Pier it is a totally great attraction for kids and adults alike. It really reminds me of a ride they used to have at Knott's Berry Farm...there used to be a ride where they hoisted you up in a cage with a parachute attached and let you go and you glided down to the ground. This attraction is much like that but wayyyy better themed and much more controlled for the smaller kiddies. Each jellyfish can accommodate 2 riders and will pull them maybe 20-30 feet up in the air and then gently let them drift down towards the ground...with a small stop here and there along the way. Not only is it really well themed but it is really fun just to watch the smaller ones that high up in the air...to them it must seem like they are hundreds of feet off the ground. On our most recent trip to Disney's California Adventure Park my daughter and I took our first whirl on the Jumpin' Jellyfish ride. This is a very mellow 2-seater parachute ride that carries you approximately forty feet above the ground and gently glides up and descends down giving you a nice elevated view of California Adventure's Paradise Pier. It is a very calm ride definitely meant for little kids. The best part about this ride is that the wait is usually no longer than ten minutes, so you're on and off in a flash. This is another ride that I overlooked and marched right by prior to getting my annual pass. Now it is a ride my son loves! This ride is visually cute. The line is never long. On the flip side, This ride is probably the shortest ride in the whole dark. The ride was over before I knew It. This one is for the little kids. You sit in seats of two, rise to the top and gently fall. Even those that are afraid of heights/falling won't be that scared. It will entertain those that are too small to go on the bigger rides. The wait to get on was probably less than 10 minutes. read more

This ride was the most EXTREME and fastest ride at Disneyland California Adventure Park. After 5 days of mustering the courage of riding this ride, I finally was able to get into the line. (Recommend getting the fast past because all of the adrenaline junkies waiting). To me, the Jumpin' Jellyfish completely pales out all the other rides including the roller coaster, The Hollywood Tower of Terror, and even the new Radiator Springs Racers. It is completely insane that they even have this ride. Amazingly, from my seat, I was easily able to see the Angel's stadium at the peak of the ride. I would not recommend bringing children under 13 onto this ride. There was one child sitting 5 seats down from me and he vomited on his way up. Luckily the employees were expecting such an occurrence and quickly disposed of the fluids. THIS IS A MUST RIDE. read more
