I absolutely love the energy here! I have taken 7 classes so far and loving being part of this community. Each and every class no matter the instructor makes you push yourself even harder than you did last class. I've attended classes with Carina, Sammy, Reina, and Kelli. They are all amazing! I'm excited to take classes from other instructors as well. Facility is clean, lockers available, shoes for rent, and the eucalyptus cold towel at the end is EVERYTHING I love the location of this GritCycle because you can either grab a coffee or blue bowl right after... love my routine during and after class! Did I mention the motivational talks during class? I love how each instructor says exactly what you need to hear in that moment. Talk about being intuitive to the folks riding together. Been coming to this site for a while and finally got around to writing a review . The staff in the front check in are always very nice and helpful. If you have difficulties setting up on the bike, someone is always available to help. I love that there's a shower with toiletries and towels available so I don't have to drive home soaking wet after class. My classes are usually with Sammy and he is very energetic and motivating. The 45-50 min seem to fly by and you end up working up a nice sweat. I'm going be honest, it was very intimidating at first going in feeling like I don't know what's going on. But you quickly realize no one really cares if you are not keeping up. Between the music and the lighting which goes dim at certain parts you just zone out and end up with a very nice workout. read more

Today I tried GritCycle and it kicked my ass - but I loved it! My friend asked if I wanted to try GritCycle our. I enjoy spin classes and have been wanting to try classes outside of the ones offered at my gym, so I thought "why not?" Each class is $27 + $2 shoe rental if you don't have your own shoes. If it's your first time riding, the class and shoe rental is free. When you get there, you sign-in at the counter and get your shoes. They have free lockers to store your stuff in. Once you get into the studio, they have someone that walks around to make sure you are all set up for the class. I took Kelli's 9:30am class and I really enjoyed it! Loved her music and energy! I'm not the type to sweat a whole lot when I work out, but this class got me sweating! I also LOVE the lighting - or rather the lack thereof. I think the blue lights look so awesome and for some reason make me feel like a badass. I also like riding in the dark. I find it less intimidating and you can just focus on your workout. After the class, someone comes back in to pass around cold towels to cool down with. Nice touch - especially since it gets quite warm in the room. I love GritCycle so much! It has easily become one of my favorite places/activities to do in Long Beach. Grit was my first time experiencing spin classes and I personally didn't know what spin was exactly. I've taken classes with Sammy, Reina and Brooke. All were amazing instructors. Out of the 3, I saw Sammy the most. Now, I started taking spin classes at the local gym around me since I am no longer close to any Grit locations and I will say... Grit is not comparable to the cycling classes you take there. Grit is so fun and full of lots of energy! It truly is a unique experience. Shoes cost $2 I believe and they sell Celsius and water there if needed. Bathroom area is super clean. Parking is a hit or miss depending on what time you go. There will always be parking on the Ulta/TJ Maxx side and the walk isn't terrible. read more

CLASSPASS: My friend recently became a ClassPass member and introduced me to this facility after trying out different classes in Long Beach. As a first time member of ClassPass, we get 35 free credits. I used my first 7 credits for this class and was so impressed! Reserving the class is pretty easy if you know what you're looking for. My friend highly recommend Reina Dominguez at GritCycle!! LOCATION: GritCycle is located in a very hip shopping and dining plaza called Long Beach Exchange. The parking is spacious and plenty, but if you're looking to park closer to GritCycle, it gets packed pretty quickly. FACILITY / STAFF: The facility is super clean! Free mints, hair ties, earplugs, and feminine care products are offered. The staff is super friendly and helpful. As a first time guest to GritCycle, I was able to rent the cycling shoes for free. After the first visit, you pay $2 for the shoes. I recommend getting to the class early so you can get your bike adjusted. The staff is super friendly and they'll adjust it for you if you're unfamiliar with the bikes. FAVORITE INSTRUCTOR: REINA I've only done one class with Reina but can tell by her energy and her choice of music that she's one of the best, if not the best! Her playlist gets you pumped and ready to get fit. The first time I went, she tried out a new playlist that was a specific artist theme. The lights got out and you feel like your up in a club about to get down! Towards the end of her class, you'll be lifting weights. I highly recommend getting there early to swap out the weights before class begins. I thought I could handle the 4lbs, but after pushing on the bike, my arms were too weak to lift them. By the end, I was sweating like no other. As a quick cool down, the staff provides the best cold towels that are scented with eucalyptus! It's so refreshing and definitely calms your soul. GRIT had me @ first SPIN... I've taken many spin classes before, but none of them ever made me fall IN LOVE with it the way GRITCYCLE has. So far I've taken Lindsey, Reina & Michael's classes and love all 3! My anchor days are Monday & Friday nights. The music, the energy & intensity of their classes along with the added pump (weights - my favorite part of class) has become my perfect start & end to my weeks. I'm not usually a class workout kind of person but I love Grit Cycle. The instructors are awesome and motivating. My favorite instructors are Sammy and Kelli. They have great vibes and their music is always good and gets me pumped. I like that they change it up a lot. The classes are expensive, $27 a class but they usually have monthly sales where the classes range from $15- $20. I always wait for the sales to rack up my classes. You can cancel your class with no charge before 5pm the night before the class. If you don't cancel by 5pm it's $15 and you lose the class. Cycle shoes are $2. Get there early on weekends because they do run out of sizes. read more

GritCycle and cycling instructor Lindsey has changed my life when it comes to cardio. I'm a part of the 99% of the gym-rats that loves to lift, but DREADS cardio. I've taken several cycling classes from different cycling companies as well as the classes they offer at 24hr fitness, but nothing compares to GritCycle LB, especially Lindsey's class. The music she plays during her classes are just so damn good. Not one bad song. And just her overall VIBE is one of a kind. She adds upper body movements to the workouts which makes a huge difference. It's not just cardio, it's a full body workout! Im sore the next day from head to toe, and I love it! GritCycle company & staff review: They keep the place very clean, and the cycling shoes they lend you always looks brand new! Just started getting back into working out after so many years of sedentary lifestyle. For someone who was once into fitness & lost all motivation in the last 10 years, this review says a lot. I'd have to say, the instructors have a direct influence on revenue & a potential client signing up long term (pretty sure this is not rocket science). But wanna give credit where credit is due type deal... With that said, Lindsey did it for me. She sounds like Miley Cyrus & it makes me want to grind harder because her voice isn't annoying & that's my vibe. Her playlist reminds me of my raver days & it takes me to a trance that I forget I'm on a bike, working-out because I'm too busy reminiscing & getting amped up! I think by default we praise people in medicine or in the yoga community if they have a direct positive impact on our mental health. The higher intensity instructors, I feel, don't get enough hype for this. They can seriously change or potentially save someone's life just by getting that person excited to work out. read more

This location was great. I've been to the OG Costa Mesa and HB location. This is somewhat on my way to work so I figured I'd try an early a.m. class. Place is super clean. Saddle rooms great. Instructor was great! And the showers and bathrooms were above and beyond. Super clean, provided nice extras, which was a life saver since I forgot my dry shampoo. Easy to get to and abundant parking. If you want to give cycling a chance or just want a legit spot and are close to this location, you can't go wrong. read more

My first time going to grit cycle Long Beach was a great experience! Highly recommend beginners or experienced spinners to come check it out. The studio is large, with plenty of lockers and sitting space to get ready. The layout of the class is more in the shape of a big "U" with 3 tiered levels. Great music and lighting. They definitely incorporate a full body workout with weights and push ups. No stats here but great fun. Make sure you book your classes with Andrew Vo! I've been riding at Grit since April of 2021 and I have loved every second! I'm a recovering drug addict and alcoholic and Grit is one of the reasons I am sober today. I never would have thought that a simple bike would have the ability to transform my life in every aspect -- physically, emotionally, and mentally. I was very hesitant to go, but my girlfriend dragged me out here and I thought it would be a good workout. Boy was I not ready for the show. My first class was brutal, but after I went 2-3 times, I definitely understood why people go. Great community, club bangers, and a solid burn to start your day right. I was in the morning crowd, which I attended before I go to work. This cycle club studio was well set up and really gets you hyped. The exercises overlap with music timing, which was pretty cool. The dark room helps the self-conscious really get there work in. But the vibe is unleashed with the crazy neon light show that the instructor is fully control of. I started going to GritCycle last month and after just one class, I was hooked! My first time was with Kelli. I'm not the most fit person, so her class was challenging but so fun! She pushes you but also encourages you to listen to your body. I've gone 11 times since my first class and so far, my favorite instructors have been Kelli, Reina, & Tony! They're playlists are my favorite. Sammy is also awesome because of his energy and presence! I haven't finished a class and not liked an instructor. I have yet to try others! Follow them on Instagram for specials here and there. The first class is free through their website/app and they have a new customer special for 3 classes for $45. It can get a bit pricey, but if you're like me and are often unmotivated to workout by yourself, it's so worth it. This is such a great studio... the staff, the teachers, and the other students. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, which is important if you are new to spin and learning. Sammy is my favorite teacher. His playlist is always on point and he does a throw-back Friday that is the best. He also does light-heavy intervals with choreography that make the 45-min go by so quick! Also, thanks to all the teachers for prohibiting phones in the studio. It is so distracting. First of all, I absolutely love this place. I have been going here for about two years and it is my favorite place to do a cardio workout. There are three instructors that I feel are just three of the greatest people ever. Lindsey, Reina and Kelly Curtis are the best gals and I have provided more information on why I think so below. Lindsey always has such a killer playlist, great energy and I love the way she structures her bike moves in class. She is also just such a sweet human and I genuinely am happy to say she has become a friend. Reina is just such a dynamic, motivating instructor. She always pushes me to my limits in the best way. I always feel so accomplished and strong after her class. Her smile is also so genuine and I am also happy to call her a friend. Kelly Curtis is the first instructor I ever took at the studio and I have so enjoyed becoming her friend while she also continuously pushes me to be my best. Her playlists are always full of great rap and just the best tunes to dance on your bike to. She also always kicks my butt with her weights section of class. Compared to other cycling places that I've been to (such as Soul Cycle), I think there are a couple things about this GritCycle location that makes it better in my opinion. The facilities are spacious and clean, the bikes are comfortable, and the amenities are awesome (especially the cold eucalyptus towel at the end of every ride) So far, the only instructor I have taken is Tony Meiners (I take the Sunday 10:45 am class) and it has been nothing but fun and awesome. Tony plays a variety of music such as EDM, trap, hard style, and rap sometimes. His works out are a little hard but will definitely give you a great workout. What I like best about his style is that he always tells you how to perform the move right before so that you aren't lost. I've taken classes from 3 different instructors and they've all been full of energy and motivation. Each class will have you dancing and bobbing on the bike! GritCycle gives you a sense of empowerment. When I finish a class, I feel like a completely different person. My first class with Reina was yesterday, and oh my goodness, she is incredibly encouraging, and her playlist complements the choreography perfectly; it was a lot of fun! Never in my life have I cycled before until I went to Lindsey Nadal's class and it was a blast! I didn't think I would be good at it so I went pretty light on the resistance at first. I kept up pretty well so I kept attending and got better and better. We go every weekend now in Long Beach and I look forward to it each week! The Long Beach GritCycle locations is one of my favorites- it's spacious, in a great location with easy parking, and the front desk staff is always super nice. Costa Mesa is my usual studio, but I come down from Irvine most Sundays to take the 8:15am class with Kelly because her class is a great workout AND she has some of the best playlists. Today I was running late, so I called and the woman at the front desk said she would hold my bike. Perf! I arrive at the studio and she accidentally gave away my bike, BUT she had a bike in the same row and gave me a complimentary class on my account! GritCycle moves me - both mentally and physically! And I am obsessed. I've been going for a few weeks now and I've been hooked since my first class with Reina. I've had classes with Kelly C., Michael, and Sammy and they are all amazing as well. Sammy is my absolute favorite, though! I am someone who works out regularly but I do not enjoy cardio at all. And I am also someone who would have not ever entertained the idea of paying for cycling classes. GritCycle is a game changer because here I am - attending regularly (and also trying to go even more often when my schedule permits). I've even got my girlfriends hooked as well! I can't compare GritCycle to any other cycling class or studio as I've never tried cycling outside of here. But GritCycle is a full on full body cardio workout where you move to the beat of the music. You are getting your cardio in, all the while having a darn good time! Note that your first ride is free as a new client, and they've also got a new client special that allows you to get more rides in at a great price. They also have flash sales from time to time and I stock up on those each chance that I get! Parking is plenty at this location. Faculty is clean. Booking a bike is no hassle and they have shoes available to rent! As a college cross country & track athlete, I always shied away from indoor spin classes. I wasn't coordinated enough, or so I thought for the choreography and I didn't like being stationary. I would take spin classes here and there when my friends were going or when there was a theme class that caught my attention. My 1st grit class was actually about a year ago, where I did leave with the feeling that GritCycle was a step above the rest. However, life happens and I took a long hiatus. Fast forward to about 7 weeks ago, when I discovered my 1st Andrew Vo class. I sat in the back row as I normally would, but about 1 song in to class, I said to myself, this guy is good. Andrew has that extra something you need in a spin instructor. As the class went on, I found myself present, motivated and inspired to listen to exactly what he told us to do, and just do it. I've been hooked ever since. I now look forward and excited to his classes, and I leave feeling like I can conquer anything life throws my way. When I really thought about what separates Andrew from the rest, I found it to be his presence and energy he brings to his classes. He captivates his riders and owns the next beat he may be bringing them. He guides you through the choreography and challenges you where you find yourself accomplishing sequences you may have doubted before. Further, he wants that to translate in and outside of the spin room. Since his first class, I have tried various GritCycle instructors and I am just as impressed with their professionalism and of the entire GritCycle community. They are sending a message far greater than just a workout. To anyone who isn't sure if they should take the leap, do it, I promise you will not regret it. What a great place! Their classes are perfect for the novices and experts alike. I use SPD cleats, which are compatible here. The music is always clear, upbeat, and intentional, as are the lightning concepts during the workout to keep you motivated. My favorite teachers thus far are Andrew and Reina. Grit is such an amazing cycle studio, and it's super convenient with it being so close to home. The instructors are great! Mike Williams classes are encouraging and always fun!! If I've had a crappy day and enter the saddle room for his class, I'm instantly transformed into a new person! He pushes you but also encourages you and before you know it, you've had the best time burning 500+ calories! Reina is another amazing instructor!! Love her music and the speeches she gives during the "all lights out" song toward the end of the ride. She makes you feel like you can leave and conquer the world. Andrew's TBT Thursday night class is SO much fun, but don't play around, his classes fill up immediately! Get on the app at 4:30 on the dot to sign up for his classes! The prices are a little high compared to some other studios, but you get what you pay for. This studio is NOT competitive and everyone is accepted no matter what level of cycling they're at.
