The water was seeping/bubbling up through the concrete floor. Unfortunately,I spent a total of 20K on two other contractors before hiring Alpha. The work done by the first two contractors failed completely. When Damien from Alpha Structural initially came over, I knew I was in good hands right away. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and professional. I would say the same about Brian and Nadir, who were the leads on my job. Brian especially, went above and beyond. Anytime I reached out to him he responded immediately, and was on site whenever I needed him. My garage was a nightmare scenario. I contacted just about every contractor who works on this kind of thing, from LA to San Diego. Not one of them could figure it out. Not one. This went on for 2 years. Alpha Structural took on a very tough job, and did what no other company could. They completely solved my garage flooding problem with a very strategic and comprehensive plan. Do yourself a favor and use this company! Don't waste time with others. Alpha Structural won't let you down.

I had the project quoted by 4 contractors and I was smart enough to choose Bob. From our first phone call on a saturday morning and first meeting on the following Sunday, I got a really good vibe from Bob. I was impressed by the responsiveness, his communication, and technical know-how as he walked me through the major steps of the project. Short Summary: Bob and his team completed both bathrooms on schedule and within the expected budget even though I threw in some obstacles and last minute changes. Both bathrooms look amazing and better than what I imagined. Most importantly, my wife absolutely loves the bathrooms. Long Summary: Within a day of viewing the bathrooms, Bob had a written quote along with a clear description of the major jobs, materials, and timeline. He quoted about 3 weeks for the work at a good price. The demolition began the day after we signed the contract. I was impressed as to how clean the demolition work was executed. I very much appreciated how Bob and his team genuinely cared for the integrity of the house and treated it like it was their own. I honestly felt that my home was in good hands which was very very important for me since i had just recently purchased it. Bob is flexible with how materials are acquired. He gives you the option of purchasing yourself or having him purchase and pick up. I did a combination of both and relied heavily on his opinions of various fixtures and materials. Throughout the entire process, Bob walked me through all of the key decisions that needed to be made almost on a day-by-day basis to ensure that the work flowed smoothly and efficiently. I was also very impressed by his workers and their quality of work. I got to chat with them fairly often and it was clear to me that they enjoy working for Bob which, to me, says a lot about how he runs his business. Bob Escobar is skilled, creative, and efficient. If you know what you want, he'll make sure the project is executed smoothly. If you don't know what you want, he'll work with you to find the right solution. I experienced both sides with the two bathrooms. I highly recommend Escobar Construction for your home projects.

An Architect's Review…read more As an architect, I work with contractors on a regular basis and needless to say, I was probably more particular than most when it came to choosing someone to work on my own home. Word of mouth and research led me to ARC / Armando... and I'm glad I went with him! From the beginning, communication was clear and straightforward. We went through the scope of work, my requirements and budget. I had some very basic drawings prepared to communicate my ideas. Along the way, Armando made suggestions to work with my requirements and budget. His pricing was reasonable and, most importantly, he completed the work within the budget we originally agreed upon. Anyone who has done a renovation before knows how easily costs can start creeping up once work begins. That was not my experience here. The scope and budget were established upfront and Armando stuck to them. And this was very important to me as I had no way of accommodating an increase in cost. The work was for a garage renovation, it included interior demo, replacement of an exterior window, addition of a new exterior door, vinyl wood flooring, drywall and installation of a new gypsum ceiling. Work progressed efficiently and to my expectations with no unnecessary delays. Communication throughout the project was excellent, and mostly Armando initiating the conversations to keep me updated. He was also very easy to work with on finishes and hardware. Some items I provided myself while others were sourced by him. Again, he made recommendations to work with my budget while not compromising on quality. Speaking of quality, the quality of the work was exceptional. It has now been over a year since the renovation was completed and everything still looks as good as the day it was finished. Absolutely zero complaints! His attention to detail was very much appreciated. He constantly made suggestions when he felt something could be improved. For example, he suggested a more random tile pattern for the vinyl floor instead of the more regular stagger I had proposed. We went with his suggestion and I am very pleased with it. Armando is knowledgeable, reliable and a pleasure to work with. Coming from someone who deals with contractors professionally all the time, I don't make that recommendation lightly. Definitely highly recommended and he will be my first call for future projects!

The previous plumber took messy shortcuts and Avelar remodeling really takes pride in getting the job done right. Above all, the customer service was extremely excellent and Fabian offered a lot of home improvement insight that was very valuable. I am very happy with all the work that was completed at my house and already recommended this company to my family and friends. I also plan to hire him again to do do additional work on my bathroom.

We met for a general overview at our house, met again at the shop to review the contract and agreed to proceed. The project lasted 5 weeks and included a complete tear down and rebuild with pre-fabricated white oak cabinets, quartz countertop, subway tile backsplash, plumbing/gas/electrical updates, tv power outlet, floating cabinets, recess lights, built in microwave, sink and appliance installation. They showed up Monday thru Friday and communicated if unable to show up. They use an app called Builder Trend, which allows for communication with all team members, regular photo uploads, balance/payment schedule review and contract copies. They were very professional, well organized and even provided digital layouts prior to starting the project. They enclosed the working area well and did their best to keep non-working areas clean. They were responsive to any concerns that we brought up. Make sure that everything that you want, or agree on is written in the contract. Any changes that you request will result in a change in order invoice, resulting in additional fees. I would recommend making payments in person at the shop, rather than using your credit card to avoid extra charges. We've interviewed a few home builders, checked out their work and reputation, and eventually decided to go with Gil, Oren, and the whole team of Go Home Builders. Working with the insurance was a pain, luckily Gil had experience working with Allstate insurance before, and he helped us a lot getting the money we needed to rebuild our home. The planning process took a bit longer than what we initially planned for. The county of LA took their sweet time approving our plans. Fortunately, after 2 sets of revisions we were fully approved. The construction wasn't bad at all, they had plenty of guys working on our home at the same time. The only time there was no work, was on inspection days. The finishes was one thing that was extremely important for us. My wife and I are detail oriented and wanted to make sure we're choosing the right company to do the finish work correctly. All I can say is that they exceeded my expectations. Overall the beginning of the process was extremely emotional challenging, but the whole team of Go Home Builders made us feel like we're not alone. My wife and I are very grateful for them. I had a rough vision in mind for fitting a lot into a relatively small space, but wanted to see the options rendered so I could better make the big layout and design decisions. Alexis was very patient and super helpful in mocking up each iteration until we locked in the final design. Once it was time to actually break ground, Gil, Oren, Uriel, and the rest of the team were really responsive and always available by text. Unlike previous contractors we've worked with, they usually gave us an idea of what was happening the next day/week and who to expect onsite. The first ~70% of the project went really smoothly and far exceeded my expectations. Demo, framing, rough plumbing, and electrical all largely went without a hitch. We ran into some problems towards the end around communication, timeline, and subcontractor oversight -- which led to more delays when someone punctured our new in-wall toilet tank and flooded both the bathroom and bedroom. We know every construction job runs into challenges so we weren't bent out of shape by it, and we did appreciate that GHB took full responsibility for fixing the issues. By and large we were really impressed by most of their subcontractors, especially the very professional and considerate plumbing, electrical, and tiling teams! After living with our new bathroom for a while now, we can definitely say it was worth the wait, and such a huge improvement over our previous dysfunctional layout. Thanks to GHB for their great service, amazing attitude, attention to detail, and for bringing the bright, colorful bathroom of my dreams to life!

They were "yes people" -- agreeable on everything but never once offered guidance or pushed back when our ideas weren't practical. We needed a real partner, and that's exactly what we found here. Ammar was exceptional. He's a true expert and adviser who wasn't afraid to be honest with us. When some of our ideas weren't the most functional, he told us so -- and immediately came back with multiple alternatives that helped us land on a design that was both sleek and practical. One of the best decisions he guided us toward was using two different cabinet colors -- light gray for the perimeter cabinets and a warm dark wood for the island. The contrast is stunning and gives the kitchen a high-end, designer feel we never would have landed on without his input. The installation crew was equally impressive -- the fit and finish on every cabinet, drawer, and detail is top notch. The result speaks for itself.
