Grilled shrimp pasta. Takes about 15mins of a wait but worth it. Like 6-7 jumbo shrimps. Cheese.

Solid grill shrimp pastas for $11. I believe there's about6-7 huge jumbo pieces and plenty of penne pasta. They add parmesan cheese. Try the grill chicken pasta too. Add veggies or not.

$6 won't get you much in New York. Harlem is it's own little word of amazingness. Grini's, in such a world, has got to top the list. I ordered rice, red beans, and stewed chicken (on the bone), and I can't even begin to describe the flavors! The staff are friendly, and the prices seriously, cannot be beat. Ever. Anywhere. If you like flavor, you have to eat here. The meat melted off the bone, and the gravy was so perfect. You wouldn't expect a large quantity of food for the price either, but they cram their containers full. They use take-out dishes, so if you're in a hurry you can pack up and go, or if you're staying there, you can plop in a chair at a table and have-at-it. I only ate about half before I realized I wouldn't be able to move soon due to food-coma, so I packed up and went for a walk. I saved the rest for later, scraped the rest of the meats off the bone, and stuck my left-overs in my purse. Dinner was just as delicious (as it was the same thing) and reheated very nicely. DIG THIS GRUB!

Great food. Good prices and big portions. Expect a line. Food is great. Roasted chicken and rice and beans were perfect.

I loved all of the food I devoured and look forward to being back. The veal meatballs were a real stand out and the brussels sprouts were memorable. The bacalao croquettes were great too, and a nice deviation from the usual ham offerings. We also got duck which I'm a fan of, but wish it would have been served warmer. Not pictured is the olive oil cake which I definitely recommend for a not too sweet treat to round out dinner. For drinks, I tried the Hugo Spritz which was too sweet for my liking. I was won over by a pear cocktail that seemed quite popular. I don't recall the name, but it should be on your list! Service was as good as it can be in a busy place. Food came out quickly! I loved the diverse communal vibes in here and look forward to visiting again and trying out their calamari and other seafood offerings.

The arroz con gandules was a solid, well-seasoned base for the meal and came in a generous portion. We also grabbed a couple of pastelillos. The pastelillos con carne and the pastelillo con queso both had a great crunch and were packed with filling. The alcapurria was fried well with a solid exterior, and the inside was full of seasoned meat. To finish it off, we had the bacalaitos, which were huge, savory codfish fritters with crispy edges. It gets hot inside and you will have to wait, but the efficient service and excellent food make it a strong 4 star spot.

I'm not even sure what kind of meat they used, but it definitely wasn't cubed steak. The pork chops were fried far too hard, the rice started off promising but quickly fell flat, and the beans were just okay--they serve white beans, and I'm used to pink. The alcapurria was passable, but the masa was mediocre and the filling wasn't beef; it tasted more like chicken or turkey. Honestly, disregard this entire review and save yourself the trouble--don't even bother coming to the 116th St. cuchifritos.
