The baristas are chaotic and a mess. Gone there three separate times each time was a negative experience. Tried giving them the benefit of the doubt because I want to support a local place. But... 1. It's overpriced by like $3 per drink. 2. Wait times - ordered a tea. Hot water and bag of tea. Waited longer than 7min. 3. Another time three people tried to take my order. Each misunderstanding. Putting hot black coffee in front of me immediately after ordering. It was also an overcharge. Had to repeat my order several times. Then overcharged again. I told them never mind. They cursed at me, so I walked out. It's too bad. Had a good pastry once. Like the location. But I can't support bad service and being scammed, and being overcharged. There are several other small coffee shops in the area. I'll be headed to those. read more

Wonderful little stop on our way to the Manhattan cruise port. We ordered 2 espressos and a bakalava cheesecake. The bakalava was filled with more of a whipped light cheese. Kind of like a cream puff. Light, fluffy from the filling and crunchy, sticky from the phyllo dough. So good! The service was amazing as well. I highly recommend!!! read more

Service is fast and friendly but food is lacking. Ambiance is warm and cozy. Vibe is vibrant and energetic. Great place to meet a friend or work for a bit. My tuna salad sandwich tasted at least 3 days old; the bread stale, the cucumber slimy. Charging $1 for alternative milk seems excessive especially since Starbucks just dropped that finally. The coffee was not bad but if I can't enjoy it with milk that doesn't make me sick without paying almost $5 for a regular drip I'll go elsewhere. read more

Best Cold Brew in Manhattan by a very large margin. Have tried it at 4 different coffee places and it ranged from not bad to really bitter. The Grind uses beans that have rich flavor! Bagel sandwich has all the flavors which is amazing, but I can say the bagel itself is not the best I had. Not bad, but not the best. Service is polite and efficient. Would not come here. Over priced. The seating is decent but if it's cold a lot of the seating isn't available. The iced drinks were filled to the brim in ice. About 1/2 cup of drink for 9 dollars... pretty crazy and it was kind of bad. The staff isn't bad but nothing to really report on. I won't be coming back. There are so many other spots that are great. TLDR: surprisingly pretty good coffee, but I'd rather go elsewhere for pastries. Portions are HUGE. Moved to the area about 5 months ago and I've been frequenting here a several times a week since. I'm picky about the quality of my coffee. I was surprised by the coffee here. I assumed it wasn't going to be good, probably from the looks and sizes of the pastries but it's not bad. I only ever order black cold brews and oat lattes so I cannot speak to any of their flavorings. Keep in mind sizes are quite large. Their "small" is 16 ounces and their large is 24! I've had several food items here as well. Everything is quite large. The banana and carrot loaves aren't bad but I usually save it for two snack periods because it's enough for two people. I do like the avocado toasts, particularly the pico de gallo which comes with pico de gallo, chipotle sauce, and a runny egg on top. It's super messy so don't use your hands for this one. Toasts take a while to come out so if you're in a rush, get something else. Also like the portokalopita, if you're craving sweets. Every other food item, to me, is not worth it. They're all super sized and mediocre. Service is pretty quick. Patrons are usually a mix of tourists and locals. At the coffee shop near my old place, they got to know me pretty quick because I came so regularly. It's been 5 months and I've come to recognize their faces and names, but everyone still treats me like I'm new each time which I find strange. Overall: if you're a large portions/volume person and don't care too much for quality, this is your place! If you're a quality over quantity person, perhaps go elsewhere. Coffee isn't bad, but don't expect to find single origin selection here. read more

This place is amazing! First, the ambiance: the inside is so cute with ample seating that is super comfortable. I didn't see too many outlets, but I wasn't here to work, so I didn't look too hard. Second, the coffee: WOW! So smooth and delicious. I loved the ice drinks. Their oat milk is really good, and I don't like oat milk typically! Love the coffee and not too badly priced (~$6 for a medium one). Finally, the food: I could write stories about the hazelnut croissant. It was so light and fluffy and delicious. I loved every second. We also split a bagel, and it was a really good, fresh nyc bagel. Will definitely be returning! Found this place in my NYC Cafe Passport...it was my first stop, and I loved it. The Grind Coffee shop was good. It's in an area that is a bit far for me to go more often. Glad I was able to try it though. I heard that their hot chocolate was the thing to have. So I obviously tried it. I did not have anything to eat but their food and pastries did look good. The hot chocolate was not too bitter, not too strong or rich. It was actually just perfect. I wish I got a large rather than a small one. It was pretty crowded when I went in. It's decorated well and has plenty of seating. If you are in the Times Square area you should go check it out and try their Hot cocoa! read more

This property and the customer service is awesome! We ordered our coffees and bagels: hers with cream cheese; my own with the Lox cream cheese. On a whim, I ordered a single slice of their walnut pound cake. This was on Tuesday morning, prior to going to catch Amtrak back to Fayetteville NC. The coffees were on point- deeelicious! I finally got to enjoy my bagel and lox cream cheese at 03::00 on Wednesday morning: Ambrosia!!! When the lady at the Grind told me that the cake was truly a 'pound ' of cake, I now believe her !!! Somehow I ignored this place thinking it was another generic hipster cafe, but recently I went in for the first time and they had traditional Greek music playing, and I noticed that had spanakopita and other Greek foods. Wow! The spanakopita was delicious and I really liked the caramelized onions. The coffee is indeed good, and they also have all of the muffins, croissants etc that you would expect to see. Nice little corner coffee shop with cozy seating. It's a little crammed, but still comfortable seating. I came here because the Starbucks in the cross corner from Grind had no seating, but I'm glad I wound up here! I was pleasantly surprised by the vegan croissant, it was very tasty and still tasted like a croissant. Their blue matcha was unsweetened which I prefer in a matcha. This place has earned its spot on my list of must-visit cafes, right alongside Frisson's.
