Don't join this gym unless you're ready for them to fraudulently charge you $680 several months after you have canceled the membership. When approached about this discrepancy, the manager, Ashley Harvey, states that policy ALLOWS them to illegally charge you months after you have canceled. So there you have it. Out of the horse's mouth. A quick scroll though the reviews will indicate that this has happened with may other members. Choose wisely if you're wondering if this gym is for you. Current members, take heed and prepare to be in close contact with your banks should you ever decide to cancel.

However, before I even stepped foot into the gym, multiple employees called and text me. I feel like this, and I am sure others do too, of I say I will be there on Monday, I will be there on Monday. Unfortunately, they will call and text you almost everyday, even after you share when you will take a tour. Look, I don't owe you any money, don't call me as if I do. I couldn't take the harassment and never even went to take a tour. If employees can't respect my time, I don't want to be a member.

As someone who does not represent the " look like a crossfitter" most gyms I go to, I am discounted or have to prove that I have any ability. After 12 years of CrossFit it can be slightly embarrassing. I walked into Eden met Nick and took a class and I was hooked. As the owner and coach he is an incredible human and is good at knowing what his athletes need as a push. All the coached Joy, Andrew, Kent, Wyatt, Jesse each have their own way of coaching that gives their all to the community. This group of people will make you stronger and also make you happier as they are so awesome to be around. From the moment you walk in, people want to know what your goals are and how to achieve them. My only goal was to get strong.. and over these three months I am benching for 5 reps 10 lbs more than my one rep used to be. Eden is not just a gym it is a family and I am lucky and forever better because I got to be a part of it.

Fast forward to Baltimore City lifting their mask mandate and me itching to go back to group fitness classes. My friend contacted the owner to see if a group of 3 of us could drop in. The owner was super nice and provided us with free codes to try out our first class. The gym was renovated so it was much cleaner and brighter. The two dysfunctional bathrooms and one moldy shower that was perviously there were replaced with three bathrooms, each equipped with their own shower. They have lockers for you to store your things during class. The coach for our class, Ryan, was amazing - super friendly and provided the group with many scaled options. She went through the movements clearly and provided tips as well. I liked that there was a station for each member joining class and a class limit so that it doesn't get too crowded. I received a follow up email after my trial and am happy to say that I am re-starting CrossFit at Eden with their 2x/month membership. It's pricier than what I paid before for an unlimited membership, but am willing to give it a try to decide what to do.

This Planet Fitness is a completely serviceable, average example of the PF franchise. It's usually…read morereasonably clean, has enough equipment to accommodate everyone with limited waiting except during peak hours, and mostly polite patrons. The price is definitely right: $24 a month for the cheaper plan advertised as "$15/month" and $29 a month for the "$24.99" "Black" membership that allows you to use any PF location, massage chairs and tanning beds. (Actual prices I mentioned includes the additional annual and starting fees). The downsides--not horrible issues, but at times bothersome: -Dumbbells max at 75 lbs -No barbells/benches--only Smith machines -Some equipment needing servicing -The locker rooms seem to be in a constant state of disrepair with damaged stalls and showers, which seems common at many gyms -Staff don't seem inclined to remind patrons to be respectful of others when they are loudly moaning from pleasurable workouts, shouting music lyrics, and playing music on speakers

Outstanding downtown location…read more Larger space and more workout equipment than Merritt and other gyms in the area. The workout equipment is excellent, generally kept in decent condition and updated regularly. Simple, fair membership agreements that can be canceled, temporarily suspended, changed to other PF locations, all easily. This is NOT common in the fitness industry. Other clubs seem to compete for which one can write the most one-sided, burdensome and overall toxic membership agreements. A simple $25/month membership allows one to visit any Planet Fitness facility in the world and there are around 2,500 Planet Fitness facilities. With a Black Card ($25/month) membership, you can bring a guest whenever you wish. Never any charge for bringing one guest. You can bring more than one guest for a small payment. Easy going staff, chill ambience. The folks who work out here are mostly there to work out. Negatives? The locker rooms need to be updated. They don't have a pool or sauna. But overall, for a large, well-equipped urban fitness center, Planet Fitness on Charles Street is extraordinarily well-priced and in my view a great place to work out for those of us who work, live or visit in the urban core of Baltimore City.

The owner will threaten you verbally and physically and try to wheel and deal you into cancelling their membership. They double charge sometimes and randomly. They charge random days each month and it's usually never the same. It's happened to me a couple of times. They say they will take care of it but they don't. They are not a good business and they will take your money and make it impossible to cancel. They have multiple emails and multiple processes and multiple scripts on how to cancel your membership. You would think by telling and emailing the owner that you want to cancel would suffice, but that is far from the truth. This place is a sham and because of all these other horror stories I have read, I'm glad I escaped when I did. This is the first time I read the reviews and I was a member for years. the owner talks about this freely about not caring about the members and has no problem sending his members to collections because he knows he cons people into signing shoddy contracts that are impossible to get out of. This place deserves less than a star and it's sad because you can get a decent sweat here, but the owner is a horrible person.

I had two doctors notes for broken bones/injuries and I was charged for those months. I finally got an email response which was obvious that they hadn't read my previous emails. I cannot in good faith recommend this gym given my experience and other reviews, which is a shame because there's so much potential within the neighborhood.

The gym floor, bathrooms, and locker rooms were all clean, and the locker area felt spacious. Only one machine I planned to use was out of order, which is a pretty good ratio. The only slight downside is that the lighting here isn't as super bright as other locations I've visited. Upon walking in, the young lady at the front desk was very pleasant and greeted me with a "Good Morning" as I scanned in and delivered a "Have a Great Workout" as I walked away from the desk. Understanding that I am big on service, that brief interaction really made me feel welcomed at this location. If I was in the market for a home gym, her delivery of service would have sold me on this location. Getting to the equipment, this location isn't as large as my home gym, however, they have all of the primary equipment. Along with having the primary equipment, they have a lot of it. This is a huge plus based on the understanding that the popular cardio equipment is usually all taken, this location has made an effort to ensure that there is almost always one available. Overall, my time spent at this location was pleasant. I went. I hit the elliptical. I left. LoL!!! Oh yeah, I brought a Gatorade as well and that was a smooth transaction. If you're in the area and looking to hit the circuit, stop in.
