There are many bodybuilders and powerlifters, but there are also many people who just come to be healthy and stay in shape. This gym is for anyone and everyone and it's hard not to make friends here. There is a TON of equipment. All types of bars and lots of dumbbells as well as cardio equipment. There is also an upstairs that's kind of hidden but there is turf and other lifting equipment and it's usually quiet up there. There is also a women and trainer only section on the first floor. The machines are mostly old and everything is mismatched, but that's what gives the gym it's unique vibe. It's kind of like a workout museum and all the members love that. It doesn't get the nickname "East coast Mecca" for nothing.

Loki and his mama always made my day when I came into the gym. Everyone is so friendly, but also so focused on their goals and helping you get to yours. There is a women's only section which I loved because I felt more comfortable trying out new exercises there. I can be a bit shy, so I do not like to be on display. Plenty of squat racks and smith machines to go around. I love how they had multiple cardio options not just treadmills, but row machines, bikes, cycling bikes and more! Exile Performance Nutrition right in the front was awesome too! Always knew the answer to my questions! Great that you can get a water, bang, or Kenny's cookie then be on your way. Bmore MMA great too! Super nice that you can get discounts on memberships if you have both. Can also get discounts for teaching etc. Showers at Exile are spacious and clean! I lived in Baltimore and I would only shower at the gym. My home shower was the size of the chokey in Matilda. I worked out everyday, so this was a nice add on! The complimentary womens' products was a plus too! If someone forgot shampoo, lotion, or deodorant there is a little communal box to share. (Spray deodorant) I would love a Texas location!!!! ***Alphaland and Alphalete Gym in Stafford, Texas have nothing on exile!!!***

The posing room looks like a place where small classes could be held too, but having classes might not fit the vibe of this gym well. A little shop in the lobby area with typical gym type products you could buy. The facility is kept very clean. I like that there is staff available. This is a gym that iconic muscle bound people would attend. Apparently, even people will travel from NYC and stay overnight here. A culture I can quite relate to, but people I would be willing to get to know if they wanted to get to know this non-jock here. A place I found at random online earlier when my Baltimore friend asked me where a muscle bound gym could be found in his area. This definitely hit that mark!!

My experience with Fivex3 has been excellent. I worked with Emily through the online hybrid…read morecoaching option. She created my lifting program for me each week, I completed my workouts at home and sent her videos of my lifts throughout the week for feedback, and every month I visited her awesome gym in Baltimore for an in-person coaching session. Choosing to work with Emily was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my fitness journey. Not only is she incredibly knowledgable about lifting, but she's also fun, patient, and encouraging! My form on all of my lifts (squat, deadlift, overhead press, and bench press) improved dramatically as a result of Emily's coaching. She pointed out corrections that I would have never noticed on my own. Her guidance gave me the knowledge and confidence to add some serious weight to my lifts and now I'm stronger than I have ever been in my life. If you're considering a membership or coaching with Emily or anyone at Fivex3, just go for it! You will be incredibly happy that you did!

Fabulous gym I live…read morein Minnesota, where there is no Starting Strength gym. A year ago I went to a Starting Strength seminar in Wichita Falls, Texas. Highly recommend Activate Body!…read more I've been training at Activate Body for a month now and love the setup. They offer strength training for all ages, but they specialize in the 50+ age group, which is exactly what I was looking for. The classes are small and intimate, ranging from just 3 to 6 people. Because of the small size, you get a ton of attention from the personal trainers, and sometimes you even end up getting a 1-on-1 session. If you want a gym that gives you personalized guidance without the intimidation of a massive fitness center, this is i

The owners JD and Troy are so welcoming and friendly and they seem to remember everyone. I got recommendations on wraps, gloves, etc. when I decided I wanted to really get into this. They do a good job of managing varying class sizes with people at all different levels. I've met a lot of other nice and welcoming members of the gym through the classes too. People of all different ages and backgrounds come here so it's always very diverse with who you are working out around.
