I was pretty excited with my choice for a new home, ready to make a deposit and move in. While waiting for my application to be approved, they raised the rent on the unit I was applying for. When they finally approved me they would not honor the rate I was quoted. I didn't even have a chance to make a deposit. Now, the amount was pretty small, $40/mo, and didn't really affect my budget at all. I just cannot stomach this bait and switch kind of tactic. I would rather pay more for a similar place that didn't try this kind of thing right off the bat. read more

This is a follow up to my previous review with photos taken in November of 2023, shortly after we moved in that August. The mold only grew no matter how deeply we cleaned and eventually spread to all our brand new furniture and paintings I had hand painted. This is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived at. We lived here for two years in total, in two different units. Which both had their own issues. The black mold was so extensive that we had to terminate our lease early, for which they tried to charge us. Griffis made no effort whatsoever to remedy the issue even though we have an infant who is at high risk of illness due to exposure. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not only did they try to make it our fault, or claim it to be AMG when it was in the walls and floor, they were incredibly rude when they did choose to respond.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We also had incredibly disruptive neighbors for months that were so loud our light fixtures were knocked out of the ceiling not once, but twice. We are in the process of moving out and found MOLD from that water pipe I mentioned earlier. They have ignored all request and emails my partner has made. Cannot wait for the mover to come by and finally move us out. First mold concerns was raised a few weeks ago in the bathroom (place where the pipe burst) and management response was for maintenance to come by and spray the mold. We've since moved but here's my review after 15 months of living here: When I toured this place, it looked and sounded great..but it's not until you move in do you realize you should've done a little more research. In our time span of living here - we've had conflicts with the office, had any issues, had theft problems, parking issues, had to call the cops on our neighbors quite a few times, dog poop issues with many residents not picking up after their dogs, etc. All of these concerns were brought up to the office but we ended up figuring most of it out ourselves because they couldn't help. For example, we spent a lot of money on stuff to clear the ants when it was a building issue and not because we left food out and we were never reimbursed for that. We contacted corporate regarding some of our issues but there wasn't much they did to resolve them or make us feel heard. When we left, there seemed to be a new team at the office because things are getting done and resident complaints are being heard. I've recommended the complex to a few people after the improvements I've seen. There is still work to be done, but I was happy to see that the management team and office staff have improved! I really enjoyed the 1.5 years that I lived here! The apartment is great space with lots of storage. The two bedroom units are perfect for those with roommates as the space is large and the bedrooms are well separated. I like the amenities, nice, clean, and low crowd gym & pool. Staff was always nice. People in the community were great. There is a lot of beautiful nature surrounding the complex. A couple of down sides: - kids were constantly running around the parking lot. - parking got very limited as my lease ended there. - Fetch is a service for delivering packages that they encourage residents to use but it had a lot of hiccups - the unit was all carpet which I didn't love. read more

I moved into our apartment right at the beginning of the pandemic. We rented a second floor apartment that was under a third-floor tenant who had a very restless kid living with them. They were really loud when walking around, such that running two air purifiers 24/7 plus playing pink noise on our Bose sound bar couldn't quite drown them out. I have heard that the apartments were built for carpeting and then were later upgraded to hardwood flooring without sound insulation being upgraded, but I don't know if that's true. It would explain it, though. After a month, we were ready to move back to our former apartment in Kirkland. We reached out to the AMAZING manager of the complex, and he offered to move us to a third-floor unit that had just opened up, free of transfer fee, and even gave us a week of overlap between the units without charging us for it. We have been EXTREMELY happy with the unit that we have, now. The view of the trees out our window is just wonderful. We can even hear the creek from our balcony! And right outside the tree line are some blackberry bushes... I pick blackberries all summer long. Now, not everything is amazing in this complex. There is a serious problem with car break-ins, and despite many people complaining and asking for security cameras to be installed, management has not been willing to do so. I've heard that the break-ins weren't window-smash kind, but rather rifling through unlocked cars or possibly using slim-jims. I can't comment on the amenities much, since during the pandemic most of them have been shut down. I have been using the dog park pretty regularly, which is nice. I look forward to using the pool now that it has been opened up to 20 people at a time. Management and staff are absolutely wonderful people. They've been very responsive to any issues I've raised. And the maintenance crew has literally arrived within 15 minutes of putting in a ticket. (No exaggeration!) And they're always friendly, effective, and clean. So, if you can avoid taking an apartment under an active kid who's trapped indoors during a pandemic, then I think you'll like this place. read more

They will nickel and dime you when moving out. I recommend insisting on a walkthrough and email them any questions so it's all in writing. Read the lease before you move in and make sure it's clear before signing. While they were fair in removing my cleaning fees, their breakdown and fees are ridiculous. I won't get into it. I think I would have easily won in court, but $200 isn't worth it. While I still say this is a great place to live, the way they did the move out caused unnecessary stress that really ruined my love for them which is why 4 stars. They were very nice and I really had no issues with management while living there so I still actually would recommend this complex, just don't let them take advantage of you when moving out. read more

There are many reviews on Griffis North Creek Apartments and I made sure to read every single one of them when selecting this apartment. During our tour everything looked so promising that I ignored some of the less favorable reviews since they were written around six months back from when I was moving in. This property has it all, heated pool, cooled package room, gym with well stocked equipment, on-site security, entertainment center, pet friendly and more. However, I wish that I heeded the warnings of thin walls, thin ceilings, and while management has the nicest staff possible, they cannot deal with a noise complaint that has plagued my household since I moved in. When I moved into my apartment, first floor, I expected to hear noise from the stairs as is expected on a multi-level building, however I did not expect two weeks into living here to be subject to loud stomping, door slamming, and harassment from my upstairs neighbor. I expected that it was just moving noises but they have continued well into my third month living here. Normally I would wait my full lease before leaving a review but I cannot imagine having other future residents be promised a conflict free living experience and go through the incessant noise if they choose to live under another resident. Noise complaints from management are addressed but respond with "everyday noise there is nothing we can do unless it is past 10pm". Now I've taken countless videos, enhanced the audio and removed background noise to show how loud the stomping is above me that is certainly not everyday noise and especially continues past 10pm daily and I have been met with a dead end from management in terms of moving forward with a resolution. The property is beautiful, tucked away on a highway that has everything locally, especially the freeway. If you still plan on making Griffis North Creek your home, please insist on the third floor apartment. Moving may be tough, but having peace of mind that nobody is deliberately making noise above you to spite you because of complaints to the office is worth it. read more

I understand that apartments need to make money, but when I got my renewal offer after a year of on time payments and being a quiet, clean resident, I was appalled. They raised my rent $150/month and were advertising apartments with the same parameters as mine for $20/month less than I was paying at the same time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I emailed the leasing agents to ask why my rent was raised so much and they referred me to the email of the apartment manager. I emailed the apartment manager and never once received a response.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not even after I reached out to the leasing agents again a month later to see if I could negotiate the rent and they told me to email her again. I told them she didn't respond the first time, so they reached out to her for me and told me that she couldn't talk about negotiations until 30 days before my lease ended.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I emailed her, again, to see if I could make an appointment with her to negotiate at my 30 days and still didn't hear from her. I tried to email corporate and no response from them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is truly a company that doesn't care about the resident, just the money.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also, if you live on the ground floor, make sure you watch for ants getting into the apartment and rats getting onto your patio. My dog was barking one day hysterically and I looked out the window to see 5 rats running around by my patio. I was also told by a former resident that my bedroom had mold, but I will admit that I never saw any. I made sure to keep a dehumidifier in my room just in case it became too humid from rain. The upstairs neighbors sounded like they were either moving heavy furniture everyday, playing "STOMP," or bowling. Nonstop! It would wake me up every morning and I would have to go to sleep listening to stomping around through my ceiling every night. I had fans, air purifiers, AC units and dehumidifiers going all the time, sometimes all of them at a time and could still hear them stomping around up there. The pool was closed from right after the 4th of July until almost September while I lived there due to "chemical imbalances from too many people in the pool over the holiday weekend." And, paying for a daily garbage service that will only take 2 bags a day is ludicrous! When I moved in, my dog had just had back surgery and was incontinent, so I had a TON of trash every single day for months. Since they would only take 2 bags, I had to inconveniently truck the rest up to the front of the complex to get rid of the other trash bags. I'm a single person household and I had 2 bags daily after I got a routine with my dog. I can't imagine 2 person or family households with multiple children! 0/5 stars for this place. read more

I moved into my first apartment ever here at Griffis in 2020 and I can say by far was the best choice I've made!! The ladies in the office are the sweetest ever always so helpful and truly made this place feel like home. Sadly due too COVID most of the year we couldn't use the amenities but as soon as everything started to open up I spent almost everyday at the pool and in the gym the facility is always kept very clean and COVID safe. Our apartment itself had little to no problems throughout the year and our building was quite with friendly neighbors. Love that this is also such a pet friendly community with dogs everywhere! I moved out of Griffis on sept 20th it's now October 28th and they still have yet to get me me deposit back. They mailed it to the wrong address which is not my fault and have not done much to try and get me my money. You think they would have over night Ed me another check. I now am taking them to small claims court because Washington states they only have 21 days to get me my money. Do not rent from them. There are also tons of hidden fees that are not listed on your lease agreement. I payed two garbage fees each month and I'm done cases I paid up to 90$ a month for garbage. Griffis North Creek - HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT! DON'T LIVE HERE! Not only did they not service our urgent request before moving, we had vermin urine coming through our bedroom ceiling on the top floor, but they never addressed it! They said they would have a roof guy look at it and never got back to us. We sent pictures and talked with maintenance and the leasing agents. This place charged us a whole month's rent when we moved out on Jan 9th, 2024 as we signed. They stated they didn't get our keys on the 15th, so charged us $2,039.90 for 8 days of being there!! Even though they had keys (maintenance would enter often) we made extra ones and they are required to change the locks after tenants move out. After being a great renter and leaving the place beautiful! We made a payment as we could on Feb 2nd, then on March 5th went in to make another payment and we did not have access to the portal to make a payment. We found out two days later that they had sent us to a collection agency!!! The leasing agent Raylee said our rent would be pro-rated for the days we were there, signed an agreement to be out on the 10th, and we were out by the 9th. When we went back in to give our personally made keys back the onsite manager Susan Hernandez, came out and said we would need to pay through the 16th, they then added on extra fees and did not give our deposit back. 9 days again cost us $2,039.90. Not only was Susan rude, talked down to us, and refused to honor our agreement, but she also used her power over us to put us in financial hardship. This is a horrible way to treat renters who paid on time, took care of the unit, and left it clean and ready for the next tenants to move in. When we lived there they also did not keep up with people parking in our reserved paid spots after the office closed, never could we get anyone to take care of it, which was a constant problem. Please save yourself from management companies that treat people, and their renters this way. We moved out to get away from apartment companies that are vultures like this. We now live in a manufactured home and could not be happier with our PERSONABLE, HONORABLE landlords, who are a beautiful husband and wife team that makes us and our place feel like home. NO EXTRA fees for parking, pet, package room, etc. Do your homework, stay away from this complex and any place they manage. read more

Bex was our Maintenance technician and she was so pleasant from the moment she came in, explained the issue and work that needed to be done and was so quick getting it fixed. My family and I lived here for a year in 16-17. While here, the new owners took over and it became Griffis. This complex gets muddy and fairly gross outside in the winter. Although we had the rainiest winter on record, it seemed quite unacceptable to have to jump over puddles to walk on the sidewalk. The dog park can be well kept, but many tenants let their dogs use the bathroom and just leave. This happens all around the complex. Watch where you step! Although it never happened to us, car break ins were a weekly occurrence here. Many neighbors complained. Not sure why, as the area is generally nice. My wife did find a crack pipe in our parking lot though. While I commend their new no smoking policy, it came after we suffered living here for an entire year, smelling smoke every day. Speaking of terrible policies, they discriminate against dogs based on their breed. While living here I had a 150lb Great Dane lunge at me, little dogs bark and snap at me, but a well behaved pit bull is banned. It doesn't get any more ridiculous than that. Update - 6/30/17 - We received our security deposit back, so I will be amending my review to 3 stars and toning down my language as I'm no longer upset with the complex. read more

Update! Office staff still friendly but now they've become useless. Over the past few months, it seems like more and more cars are showing up in the parking lot, and then just staying there. The office refuses to do anything about it, and the later you show up to park, the less options there are. Either Griffis needs to step up their parking policy or provide assigned parking/parking tags. It's ridiculous that depending on the time, you have to circle around for 30 minutes until someone leaves so you can park. I'm also super fed up with the garbage guys. Not only are they the pickiest people in the world, but they also can't lift a barely 20lb bag of litter. Either reinstate the garbage drop off centers, or talk with your guys. I don't need a notice on my door stating that your employees are weak and can't lift something. On top of that, you guys don't even clean the walk ways. What's the point in keeping the trash by the door, only for the ground to get nasty? Also, why aren't you guys salting during the icy periods? I almost slipped so many times because there wasn't any salt. You're seriously lucky no one slipped and got hurt. If you're looking for decent apartments, the apartment is still fine. It's all of the services that are not up to par for what people pay. Edit: I just weighed the bag. It's 23.2lbs. I can lift it with a single arm. I'm seriously doubting your garbage guys if their incapable of picking up the bag. read more

Maintenance was particularly impressive by how fast they completed all our requests. We moved only for a job opportunity that was too far to commute but I know our dogs miss the huge dog park. I would not recommend this property. I am now a griffis tenant for 8 years across two states and multiple communities. I moved in with less than adaquate cleaning (food chunks on kitchen wall, hair in the paint, oil bleed through on paint) and many other issues such as rusted old shower curtain rods and gross sink areas. I contacted the office multiple times with emails, pictures, phone calls, personally went in, even had the maintenance manager and property manager stop by the apartment. It's now week 3 and only the shower curtain rods and sink were replaced. Nothing else has been done to remediate these below standard move in issues. My recommendation is to choose Griffis Belltown or another property where the office staff, maintenance, and property manager are held to complete their jobs and due diligence. read more

This apartment community used to be great before management switched over. Now they don't even care about the tenants. Renewing our lease when it was under Bridges management our rent actually went down, however, renewing it with Griffis it went up $100 with no in-apartment improvements. In addition, they are doing some renovations to the leasing/gym area so if you want to work out you are out of luck for 2-3 months, but you still get to pay for the amenities you don't get to use! They gave us a one week pass to Gold's Gym, but I hardly think that evens out to not having an amenity for 2+ months. As someone else mentioned, during the winter months the parking lots were like an ice rink. And salt wasn't even put down until the ice was already almost all gone. At one point I was running late and in a rush to get to work, didn't notice there was ice everywhere, and slipped and fell (this problem wasn't fixed for three days after that). Also, with previous management whenever you put in a work order request it would get done that same day, if not the next day at the latest. Now you're lucky if it gets done the same week, and they don't communicate with you on when they will be stopping by or why it is taking so long. They are nicer apartments, with what used to be nice amenities, however, for a one bedroom (~650 square feet) you're pretty much paying for a studio that has one wall to separate the dining/living room from the bedroom. I would have given this place a better review before management switched, however, it's just not worth it to stay here anymore as they no longer genuinely care about tenants anymore. read more

This is the nicest place I've ever lived! We live in a "golden gate" 2 bedroom/2 bath style unit and have had such a good experience moving here. The property is away from the main highway enough so you don't hear a ton of traffic and the building is well maintained. The staff here are on it and generally respond very quickly. Their pool is so nice and cannot wait for the summer! Our apartment is well laid out and we've been so happy here. We moved from LA originally and did an online tour versus an in person and I have to say it worked out perfect, couldn't be more pleased. read more

My personal experience has been that every member of the staff here - maintenance and leasing office - has been unfailingly courteous, thorough, and responsive. An emergency maintenance request that required a 2am visit and an outside contractor was handled professionally and quickly. Lease terms and policies are thoroughly and clearly documented. Any questions I have had have been answered. I highly approve of the Valet Trash service. It is a modest fee to pay, and a vast improvement over comparable complexes which are constantly struggling to keep dumpsters clean and rodents and raccoons from spreading things around. The company was on site for several hours recently to answer questions and address any resident issues, with a generous assortment of treats, and I saw very few people take advantage of this, despite it being well-publicized. Most issues I see other residents complaining about are either legitimately out of the staff's control, unreasonable demands, or a failure to work through the issue directly and responsibly. The pool, for example, can only be open if all safety standards are met. It's hard to keep the chemical levels in a communal pool regulated, especially with the large number of kids here in the complex. If residents don't clean up after their dogs, the best solution is not to demand in the online community forum that the staff maintain DNA records for all of the dogs and personally test any pile of poop. Yes... multiple people think this is the correct solution to irresponsible pet owners. Questions about an individual's monthly bill should be addressed directly to the leasing staff, not whined about publicly. The complex is kept clean and very well maintained. Parking lot repairs - which have to happen, despite any inconvenience - have been regular and done very well. Landscapers keep the grounds in excellent shape for the large number of people who live here. There has been an increased number of car break-ins throughout the larger area recently. There is a security patrol, but it remains an issue. Unfortunately, there's really only so much the complex can do. It's entirely reasonable to suggest that people not keep valuables in plain sight in parked cars, and there are always certain models of cars that are more commonly targeted, because they're easier to get into. The appropriate response is to file a police report and inform the office, as well as helping to keep an eye out for your neighbors. I have lived in several different complexes in this area, and this is by far the best. It is a place where families can feel safe letting their kids play. Also, no one paid me to write this review... I honestly like living here, and I like the people who work here. read more

The absolute worst experience I've had living in apartments. Deserves zero stars. First off, my roommate and I came and toured the community. The lounge and leasing office are very nice and welcoming. On our tour, we were shown a model unit that was furnished and were told that the same unit with the same floor plan would be available in a couple months. We decided to sign a lease for the unit promised. They pushed back our moving day twice, with the claim of needing to finish cleaning and then to replace part of the countertop. Once we finally got our keys and we're able to do a walk through, we immediately realized the unit we were given was COMPLETELY different than the one we were shown. From the floor plan itself, the flooring, the cabinets to the countertops. It looked NOTHING like the model unit we were told was "identical". We were so disappointed but my lease was ending at my other apartment and we had already waiting a couple months for our unit to be ready. Since it was still a two bed two bath (the only part that was true) we decided to go ahead and continue with move in. I moved out and we got a replacement roommate to add to the lease, about a month after we moved in. We did all the paper work, but I was still to remain on the lease for a 6month period after leaving as some sort of insurance. After the papers were signed, I wasn't able to access any of the online portal / payment information for the unit. I later found out that the payments had been late and then nothing at all so an eviction notice was sent to the two ladies still living there. I was never given any notice or contacted since I wasn't living there, even though I was still legally on the lease. Come in months later for some paperwork from the office and found out about the missing payments and everything. The office was not helpful at all with trying to resolve the issue and wouldn't tell me any information about what happened to the two ladies that got evicted from the unit. Overall, pretty bad experience and unprofessional communication from the office, if I'm still on a lease I would appreciate getting notified of missing / late payments and having access to pay, which I wasn't able to do. This place is just awful! Not only are the office staff some of the rudest people I've met, they are only nice to you when they're trying to get you to sign a lease. But once you're locked in. They could care less about you or your existence. All they care about is your money. They're also making people who have lived here pay more next year. Parking is limited. We lived near the pool and on any day after work there would be no parking anywhere near my complex and i found that some people parking there to use the pool aren't even tenants. Matienence is awful as well. We would have our sprinklers right next to our window go off at 1, 2 and 5 am only. One time they left the sprinklers on from 5 am to 6 pm straight. Everything was flooded. The sprinklers are broken and just bubble and fizz very loudly and at 1 am on a summer night when you have your window open, you get tired of it. I don't pay over $1500 a month to live here to not sleep ever. Also their trash guys are disgusting, lazy and kinda sketchy. Every trash day they will drag the bags around leaving rotting eggs and food all over the front of your apartments and they will not clean it up ever. I've heard the garbage men antagonize other tenants dogs when the bark to keep them barking more by banging on the outer walls of the complex. How immature! And lastly our lease is up in about a month and we have taken such good care of our apartment. Replaced light bulbs. Kept it clean. And we have heard of all the hidden fees the new company forces you to pay for. I had a friend move out of here and they charged here for new blinds for THEIR remodel. She ended up having to pay $800 worth of fees after moving to fund THEIR remodel. Something she will never get to see. Save yourself. Find somewhere better to live! Trust me! read more

Our apartment is beautiful and the community is great, but it's the staff that makes Grifis Northcreek feel like home. They constantly go above and beyond for their residents whether it be a service request or delivering a package to someone who couldn't make it into the office. I would recommend living here to everyone! read more

I have only lived in my apartment for a little over a month so far, and I can already say that we will be staying for a very long time. The move in process was seamless from beginning to end, and my partner and I absolutely LOVE our apartment unit. There are a lot of great amenities and the grounds are very well kept! The office staff is absolutely amazing! They're always friendly, quick to respond, and willing to help! I have to say that even though I haven't been in my apartment very long, this has been the best renting experience I've ever had. I'd absolutely recommend living at Griffis North Creek! read more

I have lived here for over a year and I can tell you the front office staff are professional and inviting. They are always happy to help you. As for the maintenance crew they are amazing! I renewed my lease for another year and I'm glad I did. I don't know why there are bad reviews I haven't had a bad experience. I came from living in a home for 19+ years so my point of view is different from other tenants. I recommend these apartments if you are looking for a convenient place to live. read more

This apartment complex has a good appeal at first, but there are costs that are withheld from you until after you provide them your deposit. I specifically asked what are the out-of-pocket expenses other than rent. Not once did they mention that they do not have regular trash dumpsters. You are charged a $30 monthly fee for a trash valet service. Also, all your packages have to sent to a delivery service in Kirkland which is an additional $50 monthly charge. Lastly, this is a non-smoking complex, you sign but our neighbor keeps smoking in their unit comes and the smokes comes into our unit through the walls/vents. I have complained multiple times and all the leasing office did was send them a note on their door saying to stop, but said there is nothing else they can do. So now so have to smell 2nd hand smoke while I am sleeping and increase my risk of cancer. I can't wait to leave this place! read more

Bridges now they have changed the management and the name as Griffis..First when occupying this apartment 2 yrs back I was very happy..it had a reasonable price of 1100 for 1bhk..(of course we got that during winter).The management was good and any work order would be done immediately. After 11 months of lease, the rent was drastically raised to 1330..when enquired they said it was nominal and all communities nearby charge the same price.(very next community charge very less).after continuing the next 12 months of lease, the rent  was again raised to 1460.we decided not to continue here..The biggest shock after that was the cleaning expenses they charged me after  vacating the house..it was $300..So my overall opinion about bridges(griffis) is a very high price for a small room space..They charge you everything  before the next tenant occupies the apartment.. read more
