Well run, well kept building with large spacious apartments! Great staff, and amenities!

Trying to get a response from the leasing office has been very difficult. The hours posted on their website are not accurate, and they no longer do walk in tours of open units, which we found out after trying to walk in during the posted hours, twice. Several unanswered voicemails led to an email with the leasing manager Lauren, who also has not been helpful. It's been 7 days since last speaking with her in order to schedule a date to tour an open unit, which she hasn't responded to. Im unsure if there is a different team you work with once you become a tenant, but I cant imagine living there and having to wait two weeks to have any sort of half response on an issue. No longer pursuing renting here, but wanted to share my experience. read more

We have been living at Shangri La going on 8 yrs. We have been extremely happy being here and love our apartment. In fact, it has a 'home' feeling, sometimes I forget we are actually in an apartment. Colton, who runs the Maintenance Department has been the best of all the people they have had in that position. I can count on him to answer texts or VM quickly. He has extensive knowledge of all the appliances as well as anything else that has to do with our "Homes" and complete the jobs in a timely manner and leaves the work area clean and tidy. Having an on-site Maintenance is a very important thing when it comes to living in an apartment community, and it is so nice to see Colton in the elevator with his dog Milly. Reading reviews of apartments is hard because it seems like there's always a few angry residents. While I can't speak for everyone, I find it hard to believe anyone would not love this complex or its management. Shangri La is run by a small-ish company and they really want to make sure their residents are happy. While it's not the cheapest place to live, it's comparable to many competitors, and I've yet to hear of anyone seeing a rent increase (though you won't get the promise in writing...) If you have a need for maintenance, it'll be taken care of in a day or two. They even do preventative maintenance if you notice something needs doing. If you want clarification on rent/terms/other, you can email and get a clear response almost immediately during work hours. I lived at Shangi La for a year, and have since had to move away for work. I've seen good landlords and bad. This is a very good place, well kept, and well run. I'd highly recommend this complex to anyone. read more

I have been a resident at the ShangriLa Apartments in Bothell for approximately three years. Prior to ShangriLa I've lived at several local apartment communities. I am happy to say that ShangriLa is BY FAR the best of the lot! Julie, the property manager is a genuinely caring courteous & professional individual, she is always available and quick to address my needs. John, her new man in charge of maintenance runs a very tight ship, the trash rooms & grounds are always super clean & tidy, I think the guy must sneak in on his day off just to make sure things are looking good. People are so quick to complain, but rarely take time to praise a job well done. There were a couple of weather-related problems a few weeks back. You may remember we experienced an extended number of days with severe, sub-freezing temperatures, the worst in many years. As a result pipes burst, damaging several apartments on two occasions. I wasn't directly affected, but observed how thorough the situation was handled. Both Julie & John were on the premises nearly round the clock, missing meals & losing sleep, making sure the accident cleanup was well in hand. Those directly affected were well cared for & received assistance. As a tenant, I feel comforted in knowing that corrective measures/repairs have since been implemented to protect against these disasters from occurring during any future, extended deep freeze. I just felt compelled to take a moment to shine a light and give praise where praise is due. read more

Shangri-La Apartments / Precision Management This was the first place I saw in this area after so many other disappointments. I have to admit that I made a rash decision even though I had concerns about the veracity of the property manager's (PM) statements and way of characterizing the complex. When touring the apartment, the PM stated that the rent would never be raised. Yet, as soon as someone leaves items in the trash/recycling rooms, the PM threatens to raise all residents' rent. There are cameras in the waste rooms which should help identify who has difficulty properly disposing of waste. When someone believed that there was cigarette smoker in/near the building, the PM threatened to have Bothell Police search residents' units. The PM described the apartments as a luxury hotel with custom-oatmeal-colored paint. However, I informed her that I was looking for a place to call home for a few years and noted displeasure with the bland paint color. The PM stated that could be discussed later, but I sensed that was a lie and let it go. Recently, I received an email to remove patio string lights per the lease agreement I signed as "Decks/Balconies/Patios may ONLY contain 'Appropriate' patio furniture; and, are not to include items on or within the balcony area such as: clothing, rugs, towels, items hung from or over the deck railing, flags, kites, wind chimes, trellises, blinds, bicycles, kid's toys, trash, workout equipment, boxes, indoor furniture, storage bins, etc." I acquiesced as I looked out over the other hotel balconies... I do not mind the bikes, but the trash bag, I have to agree, is an eyesore. Patio lights hardly seem to be the eyesore here. This complex was not exceptional, but better than the few places I had seen. Precision Management claims that their residents do not "just rent apartments," but feel the "comfort and security that makes [their] residents happy to call [it] home." Home ownership is not an option right now, but I had hoped to find an apartment complex that would approximate that home-like feeling without frequent threats to violate privacy, security, and well-being; and, allow for the occasional whimsical décor which is truly the way to make a place feel like home and not another boring cookie-cutter hotel room. Have been a pleased resident for over a year now. I am deeply thankful for the team here at Shangri La Apartments for their exceptional customer service. The team here goes above and beyond to make sure residents are well taken care of and it shows. I have never lived in a place where it has felt so much like home. Office staff is personable and accommodating. Any maintenance issues that may come up are usually taken care of within the day. The building and common spaces are modern and the grounds are well taken care of. The units themselves are spacious and have beautiful finishes. Definitely feels like home. All in all, a great place to live. From the beautiful building and amenities, to the amazing customer service by management. Shangri La has everything we could want and need. read more

Im moving in in less then a week and I'm so excited. Julie is by far one of the best apartment managers I've met. She's stayed after hours plenty of times for all four of us to tour the apartment. She is easy going and you could easily ask her anything. As for the apartment itself. It is beautiful it's exactly what me and my roommates were looking for, two walk in closets & a deck that gives out a beautiful view of Bothell plus much more. A huge variety of restaurants/stores we could easily walk too! Teriyaki and pizza are our neighbors. I don't think we could've found a good apartment like this one for the price. When we first moved to this complex I was extremely excited. The apartments themselves are nice end higher end and make you feel like you are entering a really nice and cool condo complex. The complex has a nice gym and secured garage which I loved. There is nothing for children to do and it made me extremely nervous entering and leaving the parking lot and the garage as children were out in the street a lot of the times and some times parents are with them. The complex sits between a condo neighborhood which has their own children and no parks or play area so there are those children as well in the street coming from Bothell / Everett highway which is really a parking lot. There is a nice courtyard however some apartments do face this courtyard and many use this as their own private courtyard till after 10 PM even though there is a posted curfew. Overall the complex I felt upon moving in was geared more towards the working young adult that wanted a nice surrounding. What the reality is was there are lots of small children and families which is great and fine but there is nothing for the kids to do in this complex. I know there is a park not far away as I have taken my own nephews there. I am not sure why the parents do not choose to do that since it would be much safer. The staff is fine and things were dealt with in a reasonable amount of time if you had an issue. One reason we left was there are a variety of cultures living in the complex and the smells from the food were overwhelming to the point we had to shut our windows when it was very hot out so that was not cool and the loud noises coming from the courtyard so late into the evening on all days not just weekends. We both wake at 4 AM for work so that was a pain. read more

Sent an email asking if there will be available units on certain date. They sent me an email saying there's nothing for that date. So I replied back, asking if there are any within that month then I got a reply with condescending tone. Its tone was something like this - "jeez, we don't even have anything for the following month." And how am I supposed to know that they don't have any availability? Their website doesn't tell me such a thing. It doesn't even have the price up, and it says "call for detail." So I did contact and I get that email, shooing me away. If you're just gonna shoo me away, why bother putting that "call for details"?? Never going to consider this place for my future residency. Ever. read more

One of the best apartment in the area but with kids I dont think I made a right desicion to move into Shangri La. 5 stars because of the quality of the apartments with a nice gym and cabana and kudos to the admin Julie and maintenance guy Marco who are always there to help. However,if you have kids and they are playing outside, even between 5-7pm, they will get yelled at for sure. Overall the tenants are very friedly and do realize its not easy to contain kids especially in an apartment but there few with no kids who will make a big fuss. So sure move in if you have no kids or else highly recommend looking for a more family friendly community. read more

I've lived at Shangri La for a few years now. It's been an amazing experience! Julie, the Manager, is so attentive to my needs and is always available. Maintenance requests are rare, but when I need something, it's addressed in less than 24 hours. I can say with confidence that this is the best experience I've had at an apartment community. Can't recommend this place enough. And the best part is, I've never had a rent increase!! read more
