Tucked away off Victor Street in Barstow, this was a fun find while driving back to Los Angeles from Vegas over Memorial Day weekend. Big props to Haley M., who was basically running a one-woman show and somehow kept the entire place moving with a great attitude and solid service. That alone made the stop memorable. The location has a cool, laid-back vibe with plenty to keep people entertained while grabbing food and drinks. They've got two billiards tables, a dart board, and all kinds of classic bar games, board games, and card games, including UNO, which is a family favorite. They also have several televisions. The food was all good too. I really enjoyed the Green Chili Burger, and everyone else in my party seemed genuinely happy with their meals as well. I felt they were trying to nickel and dime when I got the bill, i was charged for a side of ranch, a side of BBQ, and had no idea I was being up charged for the onion rings. I didn't say a word, but it hit wrong with me. .75 points deducted. What especially stood out to me, though, was the Memorial Day place setting displayed near the front entrance honoring our veterans and fallen heroes. It was simple, respectful, and genuinely touching. See my picture. That detail said a lot about the heart behind this place. If you're making the Vegas-to-LA drive and want something more memorable than the usual freeway fast-food stop, this place is definitely worth checking out. Great atmosphere, friendly energy, and one of those spots you end up talking about later.

Now I guess, I shouldn't expect good Italian food from basically a sports bar but I'll have to say it just was relatively bland. I ordered the habanero pineapple boneless wings thinking they would be spicy-- they were not. Now I will admit, I've gotten used to hot sauce so maybe that's why they weren't that spicy. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be soft, but the boneless wings were not crispy, maybe the sauce made the better soft. But, I did not like it, I was expecting more crispy. But again, maybe is this is the way that they're served. The ambience is okay it's a sports bar. Kind of small as well but very busy. The service was great. I was greeted within less than 2 minutes from sitting down, and I had multiple servers taking care of my table. So definitely they're not lacking in service. I just think since the last time I went there and this time the quality of food has diminished.

Portions were huge and prices were right in line with a typical restaurant, so the value was great too. It was 100+ degrees outside on July 5th, and the staff let us bring our dog Sarah in out of the heat, which we really appreciated. The young lady who helped us was friendly and professional the whole time, and it turns out she has a dog that looks just like Sarah, named Zoey. Small world. If you're anywhere near Barstow, this is a must visit.

The beef ribs were not as tender as I would like (I am a pork rib kinda girl) but they weren't bad. The only thing that I really didn't like was the squash. I make squash and onions all the time and I could not place what was off. The closest I can come is maybe they had sat too long or the oil was old? I'm not sure but they were sadly disappointing. On that same trip, we also managed to visit while they were open and grabbed a traditional chicken sandwich, a spicy chicken sandwich, and an order of chili cheese fries. If you miss their regular hours, they stock prepackaged versions of the sandwiches in the attached gas station until they sell out. In my experience, they're usually gone by 10 PM, so don't rely on them as a late-night backup if you're hungry. The prepackaged sandwiches are slightly soggier from sitting in the packaging, but they're still very good -- just a little wetter than when made fresh to order. I definitely prefer the spicy version. It delivers a nice, warm heat without being overwhelming. Each sandwich comes with two thick breaded chicken tenders and pickles, and they offer their own spicy mayo as an optional topping. The chili cheese fries are on the smaller side, but they're tasty and come with freshly graded cheddar on top. But they had fun playing and we took the tickets home so they can just play arcade at home. Food itself tasted fine. No issues with the pizza. My kids liked it. We saw a lot of people eating at the salad bar too, so that must be good. We had a side salad and it tasted fresh. Good ranch dressing. This place also puts the Parmesan cheese on the fridge! Which is great because it's supposed to be refrigerated and many pizza places leave it out on the table all day. We would recommend this place. Lots of parking and nice relaxing stop in between our drive.
