Yay! Another place for pizza on post!! Opening back up for many services this year has been slow, but I think the foodies have been well-served!! So, I am adding this on Yelp since there are more options than just "the hut". This mobile pizza and wings truck saved me for dinner tonight!! So happy they were open until 8pm (and didn't tell me that they actually close at 7pm) and the guy taking orders took my order without any hesitation! After a long day on the road, we just wanted to grab dinner and go home! The walk-up window has a plexiglass type barrier, so I had to speak up to be heard through my mask! Haha. However, if you're fully vaccinated - you don't need a mask! Yay! Soon, I will be ... not required!! There are a few tables outdoors where we could sit and eat, but no shade. We just went home because we were exhausted. Ordered a Large with one topping ($14.50) and an order of Wings (bone-in) with Buffalo sauce ($9). They add a few when using a credit card ($1), so it's less than getting three meals at McD's for my family! My son loved it, so that's a win! Hubby loves their wings - spicy goodness and not messy. I wish I had ordered the churro as my dessert. Next time!! As I always say, give them a try and decide for yourself. I recommend them and will be ordering again for my family!!

(4.25 STARS)…read more Memorial Day road trips always seem to create the best random discoveries, and Pit Stop Bar & Grill absolutely delivered. Tucked away off Victor Street in Barstow, this was a fun find while driving back to Los Angeles from Vegas over Memorial Day weekend. Big props to Haley M., who was basically running a one-woman show and somehow kept the entire place moving with a great attitude and solid service. That alone made the stop memorable. The location has a cool, laid-back vibe with plenty to keep people entertained while grabbing food and drinks. They've got two billiards tables, a dart board, and all kinds of classic bar games, board games, and card games, including UNO, which is a family favorite. They also have several televisions. The food was all good too. I really enjoyed the Green Chili Burger, and everyone else in my party seemed genuinely happy with their meals as well. I felt they were trying to nickel and dime when I got the bill, i was charged for a side of ranch, a side of BBQ, and had no idea I was being up charged for the onion rings. I didn't say a word, but it hit wrong with me. .75 points deducted. What especially stood out to me, though, was the Memorial Day place setting displayed near the front entrance honoring our veterans and fallen heroes. It was simple, respectful, and genuinely touching. See my picture. That detail said a lot about the heart behind this place. If you're making the Vegas-to-LA drive and want something more memorable than the usual freeway fast-food stop, this place is definitely worth checking out. Great atmosphere, friendly energy, and one of those spots you end up talking about later.

My wife liked the tortilla soup, but the spaghetti and meatballs wear subpar. Now I guess, I shouldn't expect good Italian food from basically a sports bar but I'll have to say it just was relatively bland. I ordered the habanero pineapple boneless wings thinking they would be spicy-- they were not. Now I will admit, I've gotten used to hot sauce so maybe that's why they weren't that spicy. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be soft, but the boneless wings were not crispy, maybe the sauce made the better soft. But, I did not like it, I was expecting more crispy. But again, maybe is this is the way that they're served. The ambience is okay it's a sports bar. Kind of small as well but very busy. The service was great. I was greeted within less than 2 minutes from sitting down, and I had multiple servers taking care of my table. So definitely they're not lacking in service. I just think since the last time I went there and this time the quality of food has diminished.

We asked the young lady helping us for her recommendation, so I went with the oxtails over rice, collard greens, and baked beans. They were so tender they fell right off the bone, and I made sure to clean every last bit that didn't. The gravy over the rice, with just the right amount of heat, was fantastic. My wife had the Salisbury steak with broccoli and yams and loved it just as much. We swapped bites and agreed this was the best food of our four week road trip. Portions were huge and prices were right in line with a typical restaurant, so the value was great too. It was 100+ degrees outside on July 5th, and the staff let us bring our dog Sarah in out of the heat, which we really appreciated. The young lady who helped us was friendly and professional the whole time, and it turns out she has a dog that looks just like Sarah, named Zoey. Small world. If you're anywhere near Barstow, this is a must visit.

The brisket is tender, well seasoned and overall very good. The bbq sauce was tasty, I would have preferred a bit more kick, but good. The collard greens were good, not like my Mama made them, but good. The rice with the oxtail gravy was tasty. The corn was good and had some heat. The beef ribs were not as tender as I would like (I am a pork rib kinda girl) but they weren't bad. The only thing that I really didn't like was the squash. I make squash and onions all the time and I could not place what was off. The closest I can come is maybe they had sat too long or the oil was old? I'm not sure but they were sadly disappointing. All and all it was a pleasant experience and we will likely be back. Definitely worth the stop if you are driving through Barstow.

I ordered a $16.95 meal that included six wings and fries, and unfortunately the quality did not match what I would consider acceptable for that cost. The wings were the biggest letdown. They arrived noticeably dry, as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long or were previously cooked and reheated. There was very little juiciness or freshness, and the texture leaned tough rather than tender. The flavor also felt muted and didn't stand out in any meaningful way, which made them feel even more underwhelming. The fries were equally disappointing. Instead of being crisp or even moderately firm, they were soggy and limp. They lacked any real texture and quickly became unappetizing. It felt like they had absorbed too much moisture either during packaging or sitting before serving, which made them lose their appeal almost immediately. The ranch dressing was another downside. It had an off taste that didn't complement the food at all, and I actually ended up throwing it away rather than using it. It didn't taste fresh or balanced, which only added to the overall disappointment of the meal. Overall, for nearly $17, I expected a much higher level of quality, freshness, and care in preparation. Unfortunately, the combination of dry wings, soggy fries, and unappealing sauce made the entire meal fall short. Based on this experience, I don't see myself returning or recommending it to others.

The interior is small but clean, with a few barstools at a window counter. Most people take their food to go, so the limited seating is usually used by people waiting not people staying. No restroom, but they are in a larger plaza with a few other places with restrooms. On that note, parking is no problem. It stays pretty laid back and quiet; they usually have kpop videos playing on the TV. Other than the main focus on fried chicken, they do offer a variety of other foods, including tteokbokki, dumplings, and rice bowls. The different seasonings they offer for their chicken wings are all delicious - try the bulgogi soy sauce if you want a savory flavor and the honey butter if you want a sweeter flavor. One thing they've mastered is keeping their chicken CRISPY. They have a few different drink options. You can grab some shelf-stable Asian snacks if you visit in store. Prices are fair for the quality of food you get.

I first discovered the spot thanks to the famous "Date Shake" billboards lining the route between Las Vegas and Los Angeles. While the shake itself is a bit too sweet for my taste, I really enjoy their dairy-free date smoothie (no ice cream or whipped cream). We've tried both, and we consistently prefer the lighter, fresher taste of the smoothie. On that same trip, we also managed to visit while they were open and grabbed a traditional chicken sandwich, a spicy chicken sandwich, and an order of chili cheese fries. If you miss their regular hours, they stock prepackaged versions of the sandwiches in the attached gas station until they sell out. In my experience, they're usually gone by 10 PM, so don't rely on them as a late-night backup if you're hungry. The prepackaged sandwiches are slightly soggier from sitting in the packaging, but they're still very good -- just a little wetter than when made fresh to order. I definitely prefer the spicy version. It delivers a nice, warm heat without being overwhelming. Each sandwich comes with two thick breaded chicken tenders and pickles, and they offer their own spicy mayo as an optional topping. The chili cheese fries are on the smaller side, but they're tasty and come with freshly graded cheddar on top. I always prefer catching them open when possible, but if you're craving a chicken sandwich, the prepackaged ones are a solid option too. They're made fresh and then held under a heater, so the quality holds up surprisingly well.

The restaurant was very clean and not too busy so you can relax when you are eating there. Bathrooms were more or less clean. The staff were also very friendly. We had no issues. We called to order ahead because we wanted our pizza ready when we arrived. And good thing we did because it takes 25 min for a medium cheese pizza. I thought about ordering online, but that was 40-55 min and I realized that the prices online were more than the prices if you order and pay in the store plus a $1.75 service fee and you'd have to wait at the restaurant while they make it. There is also an arcade there for the kids to play. The cheapest prize was 50 tickets though so my kids weren't able to earn enough to get anything. But they had fun playing and we took the tickets home so they can just play arcade at home. Food itself tasted fine. No issues with the pizza. My kids liked it. We saw a lot of people eating at the salad bar too, so that must be good. We had a side salad and it tasted fresh. Good ranch dressing. This place also puts the Parmesan cheese on the fridge! Which is great because it's supposed to be refrigerated and many pizza places leave it out on the table all day. We would recommend this place. Lots of parking and nice relaxing stop in between our drive.
