The meat had great flavor without sauce and with sauce even more amazing. The Mac and Cheeze so good. Beans good, greens had a kick of spicyness. Corn bread was dry could have used some butter and honey or what would been good add some cream corn and jalapeño. I was sad they sold out on peach cobbler. We really wanted to try that. We left so full and plenty of left overs. We will be back again.

(4.25 STARS)…read more Memorial Day road trips always seem to create the best random discoveries, and Pit Stop Bar & Grill absolutely delivered. Tucked away off Victor Street in Barstow, this was a fun find while driving back to Los Angeles from Vegas over Memorial Day weekend. Big props to Haley M., who was basically running a one-woman show and somehow kept the entire place moving with a great attitude and solid service. That alone made the stop memorable. The location has a cool, laid-back vibe with plenty to keep people entertained while grabbing food and drinks. They've got two billiards tables, a dart board, and all kinds of classic bar games, board games, and card games, including UNO, which is a family favorite. They also have several televisions. The food was all good too. I really enjoyed the Green Chili Burger, and everyone else in my party seemed genuinely happy with their meals as well. I felt they were trying to nickel and dime when I got the bill, i was charged for a side of ranch, a side of BBQ, and had no idea I was being up charged for the onion rings. I didn't say a word, but it hit wrong with me. .75 points deducted. What especially stood out to me, though, was the Memorial Day place setting displayed near the front entrance honoring our veterans and fallen heroes. It was simple, respectful, and genuinely touching. See my picture. That detail said a lot about the heart behind this place. If you're making the Vegas-to-LA drive and want something more memorable than the usual freeway fast-food stop, this place is definitely worth checking out. Great atmosphere, friendly energy, and one of those spots you end up talking about later.

We ate both dinner and breakfast the next morning and both were great. Burgers very fresh and fries hot and crispy. And I always love it when a restaurant offers chicken and waffles. The decor is very eclectic. Ceiling covered with ball caps (Literally hundreds of them). It's definitely a classic local dive. The land out back where Harvest Host guests stay is very roomy. There were 5-6 other people there at the same time as us and we were not close together at all. It was also very quiet. So glad we stumbled upon them!

The plate comes with rice, kimchi, and bean sprouts. It's all made to order so it can be a wait. It took about 30 minutes for 8 plates which isn't bad. The lady working there is super friendly. I got a chicken and beef mix. The beef is subtly sweet but very flavorful. The chicken is juicy. Pork is fatty and most in our group said it was their favorite. Kimchi is out of this world and the bean sprouts are nice and crunchy. To me this is a great gem in ridgecrest!

Tonight they were inedible. Tough, chewy, I couldn't even locate the bone to cut them. The server was around but the cook was 100% more interested in watching soccer on tv than cooking. I don't know if the food would have been better if the cook cared to be there, but I do know it couldn't have been any worse. I don't think I'll be back.

I was just there yesterday for lunch and everything was amazing. I would usually go for their Loaded Nachos but I decided to go with the #1 my last visit. The #1 is there slow smoked baby back ribs with their house rub. It comes with a roll and a side of your choice. You also get to choose if you want your ribs mild or spicy. The food doesn't take long to come out at all. When my food did come out it looked quite amazing for it coming from a food truck. My basket had a large amount of tender and juicy ribs soaked in their barbecue sauce. There was a huge amount of there seasoned fries which I got as my side. The taste of it all was phenomenal.
