They provided detailed plans and worked on the project for well over a month and were quite diligent. I am shocked by how few homes in So. Some years back Grewater Corps installed an extensive system for us. It runs from multiple sources in our house, and is switchable from graywater to sewage. It was very tough work for their team, and they tackled it. We love the system and heavily use it. In the years since, we've had one problem with the system, which I resolved myself. It's worth noting here in case others can be smarter for it. The laundry room portion of the graywater / sewage valve system they installed had too much hose & pipe run in the above-floor portion of the circuit, causing excessive hose water to drain back down into the clothes washer. This frequently resulted in aborted wash cycles and error codes. This problem only surfaced with our new washer. The older unit was more tolerant of excess drain-back and did not have this issue (but sometimes had spin cycles that were quite wet in the end.) A factory washer appliance tech came out, inspected and tested our brand new unit, and found no errors in the washer unit. He then advised me that the drain hose situation introduced by the graywater modification was likely causing the washer malfunctions. I inspected the valve, hoses and pipe -- they were clear of obstruction and functioning correctly. They simply had too much run length before getting to the sewer stand pipe and gray water vertical pipe drops. As a result I had to completely remove the valve system installed by Greywater Corps, and run a much simpler double stand pipe arrangement where I just manually move the washer drain hose between the two, avoiding the longer runs where water used to build up. It works great, the problem is completely solved. It's worth mentioning another issue we had. Although I don't think it was a Greywater Corps installation problem, it did interact with their system in unpredictable ways that are worth noting. We had a mainline tree root sewage back up -- unrelated to anything Greywater Corps did. After a plumber cleared the mainline, we had a new problem surface a few days later. Apparently the mainline back-up had allowed solids to flow backwards and clog an upstream section of a secondary sewage pipe that branched to where the graywater system sewage connection was made. The result was that one sink would not drain in landscape mode, and when the bathtub drained in sewer mode, it back-flowed into our showers -- via Greywater Corps pipe layout -- and carried some trapped sewage with it. It was very confusing at first, but after crawling under the house and looking at the pipe layout, it was obvious what was happening. I was able to quickly snake out the offending secondary sewer clog from an existing clean-out port. This completely resolved the problem. I'm not saying Greywater Corps did not route their pipes correctly. I really don't know. I just know that when that secondary sewer drain pipe clogged, things got weird fast. So just know that when you interconnect a graywater system to a sewage system, it can sometimes yield surprises. In closing, they offer costly maintenance options for gray water systems they have installed. If you don't maintain the system - especially the basins, by clearing roots and re-mulching them often -- you will indeed have dirt and root clog problems in your basins. I just feel it's not a $100 an hour job. I do it myself at least once a year, sometimes twice. But don't skip it. read more

We wanted to put in a greywater system since it is now legal and given Southern California's long term drought situation. Finding an experience greywater contractor is not easy, but after looking around for a while, we decided to go with these guys. They were really great to work with and put in a very good system. They came in under their price estimate. Only downside was that installation took slightly longer (perhaps a day or two) because of labor shortages (but that has been affecting everyone). Recently, I noticed that part of our yard was wet continuously. Wasn't sure if it was a broken irrigation pipe or a problem with the greywater system. They came promptly, fixed the problem quickly, and did it for free. They're great. read more

One of the last hurdles before we could pass final inspection for our home was the installation of overflow pipes from our legally required rain barrels to the street. We contacted Greywater Corps because they seemed to be one of the few groups with extensive experience on Los Angeles's Low Impact Development Stormwater Management requirements. When Leigh heard about our plight with trying to fulfill the LID requirements and how it was the last construction hurdle before we could move into our new home, he came out ASAP to review the site and provide a quote. Where do i start.....firstly i wanted a rainwater harvesting system installed in a VERY challenging site, my home. after doing some math on the roof, Joe and Leigh sighted a 1110gal storage tank in a VERY tight location on our hillside. i had a small retaining wall built after-which Greywater Corps came in a worked their magic....and magic it was! i had feeds coming in from several different points off our roof, many some distance from the tank, some LOWER than where the tank was located....and without going into all the intricacies....i can say they can make water run UP HILL without a pump!!! don't you try this at home my friends!!! our project was very complicated and time consuming, but Greywater Corps stayed on point, problem solved with care, and came in on budget. don't you try this at home friends! amazing! i must say, it is a beautiful install....the attention to detail, their craftsmanship and professionalism is second to none, very rare these days in the building profession....now my wife wants Phase II....a grey-water system! :) thank you again so very much Leigh, Joe and all at Greywater Corps....it was a pleasure working with you and we LOVE you!! terry & deirdre read more

We recently (mid December) had them install a grey water system in our home. We have septic system that is original to our house that was constantly being overwhelmed. We had our Washer, Bathtubs and Bathroom sinks diverted out into our front yard. So now we can take a nice long shower and know that our 70+ year pine tree and other plants are soaking up that water. We're going to add a couple citrus trees to our yard now to take advantage of the water. We'll end up saving money because we're watering the trees while washing our clothes. They built a comprehensive above-ground rainwater capture system for me about a year ago. They took all the on-site factors into account, designed a system quickly, and had it up and running as soon as the tanks were ready - they even tied it into the existing irrigation system and installed new hose outlets so I didn't have to use city water anywhere in the yard. (also, they build to code and can tell you about applicable rebates as well). The guys go above and beyond, too, diagnosing anything that seems amiss and suggesting improvements to help you get the best out of your system. When I ran into a problem several months after the build - a pump that became faulty - they were quick to respond and line up a replacement (under warranty, fortunately). The system is now in its second rainy season, and it's made a huge year-round difference. read more
