My boyfriend and I found one of this rescue's dogs after she had been intentionally left alone at Rustic Canyon Park at night. The owner later admitted to me that she had hoped someone would simply pick the dog up. She also later texted us asking if we would keep the dog because she no longer wanted her anymore. I have text messages documenting these conversations. Rather than turning our backs on the situation, we opened our home to this dog, paid for her care, spent days with her, and worked to find her a safe future. We had absolutely nothing to gain--we simply didn't want an abandoned dog to end up in danger. The dog also had a reported bite history, making the situation even more serious. I expected the rescue to recognize the gravity of what had happened and work collaboratively to ensure the dog's safety and the safety of the public. Instead, I was met with defensiveness and hostility. During my conversation with the rescue, I was told the owner was "a good person" despite the fact that she had intentionally abandoned the dog, later admitted she no longer wanted her, and asked us to keep her permanently. My concerns were dismissed, and I was spoken to disrespectfully despite the fact that I had stepped in solely to help. I fully understand that the rescue may have had the legal right to take the dog back. That is not my issue. My issue is the complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and appreciation shown toward someone who volunteered their own time, money, and home to protect one of their dogs after it had been abandoned. When they picked the dog up, they refused to provide even a general reassurance about her future or care. While I understand not disclosing confidential information such as a foster or trainer's identity, the complete lack of transparency only added to my concern. I hope Athena is ultimately safe and receives the training and responsible placement she deserves. I also hope this rescue reflects on how it communicates with members of the public who step in to protect animals in crisis. Kindness, accountability, and professionalism should never be too much to ask.

I've had my fair share of visits with the vet because anytime somethings wrong with my dog, I try and get it checked out right away. The people here are very kind, thorough, they make sure to ask all the questions and also answer all the ones I have. I brought my dog in for her annual check up and she had some crusting around her lip so I asked the vet tech to have the doctor take a look. When Dr. Youn came out, he casually mentioned that he had shaved her entire chin to clean the area. I did not consent to anything beyond a basic look. Instead, Dr. Youn decided on his own to shave off my dog's entire chin with ZERO communication and ZERO explanation beforehand. I was never asked for permission and I wasn't informed this would happen before it was done. I only found out after the fact, when he strolled in like it was no big deal. No heads up. No "can I do this." Just done. That is not how veterinary care is supposed to work. Vets are supposed to inform and get consent from owners before altering their pet in any way, this is basic professional practice, not an inconvenience to skip because it seemed minor to him.

i want to preface this by saying i am a nervous wreck whenever i leave my dogs with anyone besides…read morefriends and family, so finding sitters / boarding we trust has been an ongoing struggle, especially for two dogs. my babies rosie and hank have been going here for the last few years, and we've really come to love and trust this place. hank is a super friendly goofball who always acclimates to groups easily, but rosie is a little nervous gal so she takes a bit to warm up to the group. sometimes i'll watch her on the doggy cam and she'll just be sitting in a corner watching everyone play. but after a few days, i've watched her get used to her new dog friends and even start playing! i don't think that would be possible without the owners and staff creating a caring and warm environment for them. also once i checked the cameras and i saw someone sitting on the floor while all the dogs piled onto them and it was the funniest / sweetest thing i've ever seen. a massive cuddle pile full of happy dogs with wagging tails. they won my trust completely after that. thank you for creating such a wonderful environment where both animals and their owners feel safe and cared for. it's a rarity in this world!

Miniature schnauzers are a popular breed, so there's likely truth to this statement. My gripe pertains to the dogs from China presented over the last year. They even posted pictures with names, ages and bios. I submitted an application for the Northern California chapter in general, not specifically for the China dogs. I know they didn't make me a promise for one of the dogs from China. The delay in getting the dogs to the USA during the COVID pandemic was a challenge and probably involved factors beyond their control. I have a problem with advertising the dogs heavily on the site, then giving them to Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue (ASTR) the state of Washington. Aberbeen does not allow adoption to people outside of Washington. This was the response I got when I emailed ASTR. I wish CMSR could have made an arrangement with ASTR to make an exception to this policy. Then the Northern California folks who already applied for dogs from CMSR could at least have a chance to get one of the dogs from China. The whole situation felt really unfair.

Not only was Adam so happy for me but it was nice to get to know a little bit about him and how he loved his job because he loves animals so he felt like he was in the perfect place which honestly melted my heart. He was able to help me out with my coupons and get me the best deals for my baby girl. At the end when we said goodbye he told me "I'm so happy you got your baby back" and I was just so touched because I knew he meant it and that's how I truly knew he's an animal lover, I could just tell he was one of my peoples and he is that betch lol. As a result, my dog's appointment was delayed while others were taken first. If I schedule an appointment for a specific time, I expect my pet to be serviced accordingly unless there are unavoidable delays. This policy feels frustrating and inconsiderate to customers who plan their time around these appointments. If higher pricing is necessary, it would be more transparent to adjust base rates rather than introduce add-ons that delay standard appointments. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and I will be looking for another groomer in the future
