Today is Saturday and they called me and confirmed my appointment Thursday. Why not call if there is a cancelation? I've been on hold and been going round and round through their wait queue on the phone. Now all this gas and time is wasted. What shitty service. Avoid. read more

Manager Nicolas Hourani and David Morris were great people before you buy your car. But once you need them to refund you for services they couldn't fulfill it's a goose chase. They didn't apologize but rather put the blame on me for I quote "your misunderstanding ma'am". When I arrived at the dealership I was told they couldn't cut me the check that day after doing the refund paperwork because the finance office is closed at 6pm? But it was open way later when I was purchasing my car at 8pm? On top of that I made sure to repeat 3 times with David Morris that the check would be mailed out no later than end of day tomorrow before leaving so I wouldn't be chastised for another "misunderstanding". Only to txt him a week after to find where the check was since I haven't received it in the mail, his reply "it was sent as soon as possible". Sorry for my language but this is BULL SHIT SCAM. First let me say I hate the car buying process as much as most people. In searching for a specific hybrid car, Gresham Subaru had 2 on the lot so we made an appointment to go and check them out. We were greeted by Lance who was immediately friendly and more than happy to show us the models we came to see. That lead us to checking out the other models and comparing the features, the price and our lifestyle and we went home to ponder and do more research. Although there was no hard sell, lets be honest, car sales folks are there to sell cars. Lance promised if we returned to Gresham Subaru (which is 35 minutes from our home and there are other Subaru dealers closer) that he would get us the car we wanted. I felt Lance followed up just enough, not too much, to stay top of mind, which was perfect. At home the next day, I was checking out available cars headed to them and let Lance know of the one I think I wanted and we set an appointment to visit again, see that specific car and do another test drive. Yep, that was the one. The deal was fair and we didn't spend too much time going back and forth (probably me changing my mind more than anything). Rami helped us through the financing and signing all the documents. He was funny, smart, and explained everything thoroughly. I had to return for add-ons 3 days later - which was today - and the service department (I think his name was Steve) was ready for me and completed the work faster than they quoted (I love a good under promise and over deliver promise)! Lastly today, Hannah helped me figure out the Android Auto app and it's working great now! Everyone worked as a team. I felt appreciated and that my business mattered. Wanted to start with my mom bought her first brand-new car at the Vancouver dealership with Verna. She is amazing and has been very supportive. She loved her new car. But with UNDER 600 MILES on it, she was on her way to come see me (7 hours away), in the winter when her car broke down. From day one her check engine light would come on and lights would flash. They kept telling her it was fine, until it wasn't. Her car became un-drivable with all of the safety features turned off and became stuck on the side of the road in the middle of an ice storm. They aren't transparent with what is going on with her car, say they "got it", yet several hours later they have her dashed pulled apart and still don't know. That's not the worst part. I bought a used car from the dealership yesterday and the whole experience was very controlling. I went in looking for another car and by the end of the deal they showed me a car I didn't intend on getting. Additionally, everything that I wanted changed and every grievance I expressed was not met with any consideration, they said that it was too late to change anything even when I had not driven off the lot. Today I come to find that the bumper came out of place without any disturbances. I would not recommend shopping with them. Well, we saw an ad for a 2019 subaru legacy. I called on it as an alternative...we had just worked up numbers on a 2020 but that dealership had no 2019. I asked pricing and was told 25000, so I said let's go see it. Sales personnel were personable. The car had to be jumped, which was a concern. It was missing things that are important to me as well. Then, the numbers came back the same nearly as the 2020. The only real difference was the cost of the extended warranty. We considered it and decided to go w the 2020 and our original dealership. The saleswoman was disappointed but understood. We went to the car and were discussing the rest of our day as we put the next stop in our gps. Our windows were up. Out comes the sales manager. He begins talking at us thru our closed window. He would not take no for an answer and said well, if you want to go buy the same car for 3000 more....well it is not the same car. It has no heated steering, no lane departure assist, no ability to raise the passenger seat...and more. Plus they are charging for things the other dealership did not. Hello. Recently, my car was stolen and wrecked, so I suddenly found myself in the market for another car, despite the wretched market right now. I decided to stick with Subaru and checked with various dealers in and around Portland. Long story short, I settled on Gresham Subaru. This ended up being a mistake. Here's the rough timeframe. My car was stolen in early-November. I used a rental a couple of days after that to visit Gresham Subaru because they supposedly had a car that I wanted in stock. They didn't but said more were coming in, and I was allowed to look at a model that was on hold. I stayed in touch with Matt F. At one point, I told him via text that I was interested in a white car. Eventually, he told me that the car I wanted was in stock, only it was grey. I thought it over with my wife. We decided grey would be great. We told him over the phone that the grey car would be fine. He sent me over to (IIRC) his sales manager, Crystal B. Here's where things got weird, albeit in a subtle manner at first. They wanted a $500 deposit. Fair enough. I gave them my credit card info. They said they'd send a receipt. I expected a purchase agreement. I got a pic of a credit card slip. Somewhere along the way, I also asked when I absolutely needed to have the money lined up. I didn't get a straight answer. Weird, but whatever, the hunt was almost over. This was the night before Thanksgiving. The following Saturday morning, while running errands, I got a call from Matt. He wanted to confirm details. He said that I had asked for a white car that was on the way. Not true, I said. He then said the grey one was still in stock but that this was a problem, and he'd have to talk to his boss. A few minutes later, Matt called again. He said I could have the car as long as I came down to the dealership immediately and paid on the spot. This is where things really went off the rails. (Full disclosure: I didn't have all the money just yet. I basically had things squared away with my loan officer but I was waiting on the payout from insurance and for my next paycheck.) I was confused. Couldn't they wait a bit? Apparently not! I was expected to use Uber or public transit to get out there pronto. I told him this was ridiculous. He then said he could come get me. All along the way, I'm trying to get straight answers regarding basic questions, like when's the last day to pay up. He never gave answers, or answers that made any sense. Eventually, he got me on the phone with (IIRC) Crystal. She went into a spiel about how there was a new policy that required cars to be paid for quickly; a reservation was only good for a very short period of time. (When asked how long deposits are good, I recall her giving a nebulous answer that basically meant, "It's only good for as long as we say it is.") She also referred back to that two-week-old text about the white car, long before I confirmed on the phone that I wanted the in-stock grey car, to make the claim that I had requested a white car. While this is happening, the shadiness of this whole thing really started snapping into place. The lack of a purchase agreement (or any paperwork), the good cop/bad cop routine, etc. This had to have been planned on some level. Long story short, Crystal finally said, after lots of arguing, that the latest she could hold the car was until that Tuesday. I asked for Wednesday, which I was positive I could make happen. Nope. It had to be Tuesday, otherwise the car would go up for sale and "probably" be snapped up by somebody who could pay on the spot. I refused. She said she'd go ahead and refund my deposit. To top it off, I was told they *might* contact me if the car didn't sell by Tuesday, but that I shouldn't count on it. Surprise surprise, they never called. (It didn't occur to me until after the call that Tuesday was Nov. 30. I'm pretty sure she just wanted to book the sale under November, no matter what it took.) To their credit, my deposit was refunded quickly. That's about all I can say for them. There's a reason why I hate showing for cars: It can be a slimy undertaking. Gresham Subaru certainly didn't help in this regard. Thankfully, one call later, and I had a reservation at Subaru of Portland. I had to pay a bit more but they treated me like a human being and sent me paperwork to confirm everything. Every step has been smooth & relaxing. *That* is how you treat customers. Thanks for nothing, Gresham Subaru. I don't care if COVID has screwed up the supply chain. Those sales tactics were seriously sleazy. I hope that sale was worth it. If I can prevent at least one person from buying from you, I'll be hard pressed to think of anything that would bring me more joy. read more

Last Saturday evening I took my daughter's car to get the oil changed at Gresham Subaru. All went well. They got it done fast, I was out of there in 30-45 minutes. Could've been a 5 star review. Sunday I check the oil and it's high, way high. Probably 3 quarts high (7 quarts total) in a 4 quart pan. Ok, fine, better high than empty, right? So I call them Monday morning and the guy tells me to come in "any time" and they'll fix it so after school she heads over there but a different guy tells her they can't get her in because there are 4-5 cars ahead of her. She thinks nothing of it and comes home, tells me what happened and I went from docile to livid in one second. I call them and the guy tells me about the other customers in line, that they only have one tech, blah, blah, blah. I ask him if those other customers were in line last Saturday like me and tell him his one tech issue is not my problem since I don't do the hiring there. I also tell him the last guy said "come in any time" and I'm pretty sure Monday at 4:30 falls into that category. I am furious! A few months later the engine failed and I brought it to another Subaru dealership and had documentation that the car I bought needed thousands of dollars of repairs weeks before I bought it from Gresham Subaru. When I tried contacting the dealership to talk about it, the general manager Jake Pratt was a jackass over the phone and told me he wouldn't help and to leave him alone. Someone I know also said they were given a loaner car from Gresham Subaru and got in an accident in it and the dealership then sold that car to someone claiming no accidents reported Don't do business with them unless you want a bunch of legal headaches. read more

I.E. as of 10/23/22 they have in stock a 2006 blue Honda S2000, that is being represented as a much nicer car than what it is. Salesman went out of his way to let me believe it was well worth my time driving 3hrs to come see it, when in reality it's a VERY poor quality MAACO quality if not worse bumper to bumper repaint that has a rough interior, mismatched tires, engine that burns oil and holes/tears in the top.... and they still have the lying audacity to advertise it with about 20k miles then actual. 5* for dishonesty.... read more

I purchased a 2017 Forester XT from this location. When the battery died the first time I thought it was our fault for leaving something turned on. I used my AAA for a jump. When it died a second time I thought we had made the same mistake. I used my AAA again. When it died a third time I finally called Subaru who sent out a tech to jump it. When it died a fourth time I started to lose my cool. They sent out another tech who took the car in for inspection and left us with a loaner. That was the first mention I had heard that Subaru was having this kind of issue as a pandemic. When it died a fifth time I had just about had it. It was dying during times where I really needed to be somewhere. This is when they suggested I get a new battery. They offered to me to buy an upgraded battery which I did. When it died a sixth time I flipped out. I was standing in an airport parking lot with my entire family trying to get back home. I finally called corporate and complained as well. Finally they got a real inspection scheduled with a real technician who discovered that the radio amp was draining the battery even when the car was off. Since then it hasn't died thankfully. But the lane assist has turned itself off and can not be turned back on now. And during all the battery drama they forgot to reset things properly so I found that the passenger side window wasn't working anymore and I had to bring it back in to resolve that. This is not the worst of it. I special ordered a Subaru Ascent from them two months ago. I ordered it Black. They delivered it Gray. :( Then the Sales manager tries to explain it to me like it was my fault!!!! Wow. The nerve. If his story added up we would have been looking at a Grey Limited instead we were staring at a Grey Touring (which should have been a Black Touring). I was floored by the gall and lack of ownership displayed. How disgusting! I went next door and traded in the XT for a Ford Explorer Sport. Avoid this location at all costs. read more

No star. If you want your car to start having problems, bring it here for preventive maintenance or any issues. We have had several visits here because our car was under warranty and no doubt, even if it was oil change, we've had to go back to get something else fixed because the service techs forgot to do something crucial when putting the car back together. This last one was the worst: they forgot to put back the air intake hose after replacing the air filter. We drove home and the engine started behaving abnormally. This was the third trip back after we got oil change and other maintenance services that were quite costly to begin with. The second trip back was because of another reason. On this last trip, after waiting for several hours, we were informed that they FORGOT to re install the air hose back and "the engine was gasping for air." I don't know what long term effects this would have on our car, but I'm not taking that gamble again because this should not have been something that would be missed during service. Took my car in for an oil change and a few minor repairs. I needed one of my windshield wipers replaced, as it had snapped off. I was charged $40 for a new windshield wiper, but I did not receive one. Instead, they just snapped the old damaged wiper back on. It fell off immediately on my drive home. They were flexible with me as I took a day to figure out the cost and evaluate my options. Having just bought another car there earlier in the year and enjoyed their customer service then, I proceeded to use them for the work. Since, I've been going back every six months to get my oil changed, and have my car inspected, and it's always been a good experience. Today, I was helped by Mac Potter, and I was impressed by the level of service I got. This guy was very attentive, easy to work with, and totally natural, like a real pro. He didn't even seem to care that I have an accent, which is refreshing. Aside from that, their coffee machine makes surprisingly good (and free) coffee, as if somebody wants to make sure we really enjoy our wait time. I made an appointment a week in advance (with the Gresham Subaru Online Appt.)with Elvis at a time that was scheduled on the Subaru website. I had worked with Elvis before, he did a great job. However, when I arrived, I was placed with Jack, not Elvis. Jack did a fine job contacting me when the car was completed for service. I arrived at the Service Center, where Jack was busy so another (different) service attendant "helped" me complete my paperwork. I asked him if there were any service specials to which he responded that there were not (Elvis was able to find me some service specials the time before), I asked him if he were willing to look, which he was not willing to do (Elvis on his own initiative took the effort to look for specials without being asked). Needless to say, when you walk away making an appointment with a particular service consultant, and you are shortchanged at your expense to get someone else, and then have a third person work with you who isn't willing to lift a finger to attempt a look - not only not a good experience, but I can spend a lot less than 130 bucks for an oil change and a supposed tire rotation (I am not actually sure the tires were rotated - I have a small leak in one tire and that tire seems to be in the same spot...) somewhere else. read more

This was my fourth time trying to get my display unit fixed. Steve Jewel is a joke for a service manager. He does have some good people working under him, but he does not represent Subaru in a positive light. July 29th 2019. Had an appointment with Gresham Subaru to replace the seat bracket on the passenger side second seat. I was told to talk with Steve Jewel when I came in. I came in asked for Steve, they said he was in his office to go on in. I did there were two people in there, Steve and Hannah who we have dealt with before. I ask the guy behind the desk is he was Steve, he said yes, I introduced myself. He never made an attempt to shake my hand, welcome me, he just said take a seat. I explained to him the issues with the display, I also mentioned that I had video to show them. He had me hand the USB stick to Hannah, she opened the first file of six. We looked at it together. I explained to her what was happening in the video. She went outside and went through a few senries but none of them applied to the problem I was having. Hannah never opened any of the other videos to get a better understanding of the many issues that we are having. I explained to her that even on the manual setting the display would dim, that is not suppose to happen. She agreed, she said that maybe the dash cover was causing some of the issues, I reminded here that the issues were happening before we got the dash cover, and again that in the manual setting it should not effect anything. She adjusted the display by turning the setting on the dash on the lower left of the driver to the highest setting, but that doesn't effect that the display dims at random times. She said that's all they can do. When I went back into the office. Steve informed me that they are not going to try to repair the unit, that as far as they are concerned that it's working as designed. If I had any issues I needed to take it up with Subaru. Neither Steve or Hannah seemed concerned to get the issue fixed. The next issue was the second row seat that would not latch correctly. After 45 minutes of waiting a young man said our car was ready. We walked out with him and he showed me a seat setting that needed to be complete for the seat to lock, and all positions locked. I explained to him we had it checked out by another guy named Drew, he was the one that saw the problem and ordered the part for us. When I explained that to the young man, he said he wasn't given that information and he would check to see if the part was in. I told him the part came in last Thursday and that's one of the reasons why we are there. He checked and came back to say they would work on it right away. Three hours plus from when we came in our car was finally ready. They listed what service they did. I questioned Hannah since they said the looked at the display unit. I said but they didn't fix it. She said they couldn't find anything. Well it's hard to find something when you're not looking. They never looked at all the videos I provided. They had a preconceived determination that nothing was wrong. I contacted customer service and requested an informal dispute resolution from Subaru. read more
