Took delivery on my STI last night! The Gresham Subaru experience continued as it started. Awesome service. Nick was in contact with me when an estimated delivery date was established, and the car came a week early! Nick called me as soon as he found out it was in and scheduled a time for me to come and pick it up. I met with Dave Morris who came in on his day off to finalize the deal with me. There were no surprises, everything price wise was as we had previously agreed on. They helped me through every step of the financing and paperwork, happily answering any questions I had along the way. The car was immaculate. They had met all of my requests, including not drilling new holes for the front license plate. The car was sparkling clean, all the add-ons installed, and only 6 miles on the odometer. They drove it off the truck and parked it just like they said they would. Dave was extremely friendly and polite, and made the process extremely easy. I was in and out in about an hour. Dave even helped my sync my phone with the bluetooth and showed me all of the tech features before I left. This was very helpful coming from a 2002 VW with a cassette player! Chantal G. helped me finalizing the paperwork and brought to my attention some additional options with the dealership including various warranties and clear bra options. She offered them to me, explained them and was in no way pushy or trying to persuade me into anything I wasn't interested in. I felt very well informed but not at all like I had just received a sales pitch. She also showed me pictures of her ridiculously cute dogs :) . Better still, I was informed of a follow up appointment that would be scheduled about a month down the road in which an employee would meet with me to evaluate the car and make sure everything was in working order. After the 1000 mile break in period, I am to bring the car back in for a free wash, fluid checks and an additional "Thank you" gift card. Service was amazing from start to finish. I believe I was in a more unique situation than most people as I came into the dealership having already done MONTHS of research on the car and knew very specifically what I wanted. My wife was ecstatic to attend the visit with me because it meant she could finally stop hearing me spew research information about the car. I had recently test driven and been quoted a negotiated down, "bottom line" price from another dealership in town, and I wanted to see what Gresham Subaru had to offer. I worked with Nicholas Smit and Dave Morris, and the thing that stood out to me right away compared to any other dealership I've ever set foot in was that they took a few minutes to do nothing but listen to what I was hoping to achieve that day. They weren't listening to what I was saying and thinking about how they could manipulate me or convince me to "drive home in something" that day. I was able to explain my particular wishes which were to order that specific model, in white, with the base package and one accessory package add on. The ordering criterion was important to me because I didn't want one on the lot (or any other dealer's lot) that had been sitting out in the weather for an undefined amount of time. I wanted to special order it so I knew I could drive it away right off the boat from Japan. I understand that this is unusual and I am probably way pickier than most people about this, but for whatever reason any other dealership I clearly explained this to would roll their eyes or chuckle and try to convince me out of that request. Not Nick or Dave. They both said right away, "No problem. We will call you as soon as we know when it's coming in, roll it off the truck and park it in the garage for you". This was such a breath of fresh air. When it came down to the "negotiating", there was no need. Trust me, I could have tried and always have in the past. This was not one of those "No negotiation needed! Trust us! It's the best price" type of things you see on TV. The reason there was no need is because they blew my previous "bottom line" price out of the water. It was honestly the cheapest I've seen this car sold anywhere. Don't forget, I had been researching for a very long time and seen all the TrueCar, Costco Auto Program, and actual paid prices by many members of various Subaru enthusiast forum pages. This was hands down the lowest price I've seen. The best part was the transparency. Nick came out with a pricing invoice page showing my the invoice cost of the car, the MSRP, the cost of my added accessory package and was very honest about their margins and how much they would be making on the car (which in the end was not much). He explained why ordering it was beneficial for them as they did not have to have a car occupying a space on their lot for an indeterminate amount of time. My mom had her outside deck re-sealed a few weeks back, and the worker who poured the rubber-cement sealant over the wooden deck did not think the gooey substance would leak down through the spaces onto my mom's vehicle below. A few days later, she discovered the big blobs had fallen onto her Nissan Altima trunk, hood and into the rubber strip where windshield meets hood just below the moon roof. Not knowing what to do because the mere touch of the substance quickly tells you it's "final" and impossible to remove. Naturally, my mom had paid the worker in full and he was not returning her phone calls to explain what the material was made of and if he would be able to remove it or even to simply apologize, for that matter! So, my mom always returns to the dealer where she bought this pretty 2008 car and they always help her out. Except this time, Gresham Subaru REALLY helped her out!!!! A gentleman by the name of James Giles, came to my mom's rescue and SAVED THE DAY and the car, more specifically! Gentleman Jim was not sure if he would be able to remove the substance however, kindly asked my 93 year old mom and me if we would mind waiting inside and have a cool drink while he investigates. 45 minutes later Gentleman Jim returns to us with the great news! He informed my mom that he was able to use a industrial chemical to safely remove the cement sludge except for the area where it had seeped into the rubber strip. AMAZING!!! Gentleman Jim Giles explained that had my mom waited any longer it would not have been possible to remove the substance and it would have started eating away at the paint. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! If you're looking to buy a new Subaru and want to feel good about the experience, there's no need to go anywhere else. I have purchased a dozen cars over the years from Gresham Subaru and have always had the most wonderful ( and fair ) experiences with this dealership. Just bought a new Forester and, as always, found the staff and management to be ready to "provide excellent customer service" (this is the first thing you'll hear when calling the dealership) while still offering a better deal and greater value than the other dealers we visited. But getting a great price isn't all there is to buying a car. When a customer buys a new car, it ought to be a "pleasurable experience". No high pressure sales or trying to make something fit that doesn't. Pauley was awesome even though he's new, Nicholas and Eric made sure we were totally happy before we left and again, as they have done many times in the past, we left the dealership feeling relaxed. This is a far cry from the "gamesmanship" we received from some of the other local dealers. If you want it straight, if you want an excellent selection, if you want a pleasurable experience when buying a new Subaru, there is no need to go anywhere else. If it makes you feel better to comparison shop, go ahead. But when the day is through, you'll wind up at there wishing you hadn't wasted a day elsewhere. I went in with a friend who had purchased a pre-owned car here under factory warranty. They altered the paperwork to make changes in their favor, the service department actually lied about many things that were "checked" as part of the CPO but were not, he had them do all those repairs on a separate visit, they screwed up paperwork for the loan and demanded my friend drive all the way back to their dealership (from another town) to correct it but since it was their fault he demanded they come meet him. On one visit, they actually altered the mileage on the paperwork to fit the situation they needed. They had mismatched tires on the car and they all have to match according to Subaru to remain in warranty, but thankfully a call to corporate Subaru fixed this as they promised to warranty the car once the dealer replaced the tires. My buddy called them out on all of this, some of the staff even admitted to wrongdoing in writing, and he is still presently in talks with authorities for both possible criminal and civil actions against those employees and the dealership itself. Is this the kind of dealership experience you were looking for? This is Oregon so my friend, myself, and so many of our mutual friends all buy or drive Subarus but we always tell everyone now to go to Wentworth or Oregon City for their purchases and repairs. The valve cover gaskets on my 2002 Subaru were leaking so I took it to 3 different shops for an estimate. The very popular Subaru guy on Burnside that everyone writes about swore the problem was head gaskets. He wanted $2,800 to fix them and tried to push me into buying one of his used Subarus. He's supposed to be a Subaru expert? Another shop correctly diagnosed the problem but wanted $1,200 for valve cover gaskets. I finally ended up at Gresham Subaru, and what a relief. Bryan quoted me $450 for the gaskets. My brakes also needed to be done, so I asked them to do those too. Once they got the car on the lift, it turned out the brake calipers were rusted solid and one of the bolts had been sheared off. After the shenanigans from other repair shops, I appreciated that they let me take a look and gave me an estimate before starting the work. In all, the repairs cost me about $1,000, and while they had it they cleaned the sun roof drains and fixed the windshield washers. It took longer than they expected to fix the brakes so they gave me a nice new Forester to drive for a few days. Overall, it was a very good experience and Bryan was great to work with. The car is old and needs some work, but it suits my needs for now. I'll take it back to Gresham for the rest of the work and will go there to buy a new one when I'm ready. read more

I went into Gresham Subaru at the end of November, excited and ready to buy my first Subaru. We chose Gresham because they work with Costco and they said they had a couple available cars at the Costco price. When we initially went in Travis met us and showed us around. It turned out the cars he sent us online were actually never available for the Costco discount. At that point, we definitely felt lured in, but Travis was nice and sat down to show us some other options. Suddenly, Travis had to leave and handed us over to Larry. Larry looked like he walked out the shop and threw a button up shirt on. Any question we had about the Forester, he was unable to answer. He said, "I don't know too much about the Forester, only the Outback". He had a computer in front of him but didn't seem to know how to use it. He kept leaving the office to ask the other sales guys questions. I'm not convinced he was an actual sales rep. Very shady! We walked out and went back to Carr Subaru. We were treated with kindness and respect, and bought our 2017 Forester touring. Our sales rep was Papa Kiavesh. I would highly recommend him and Carr. They were extremely professional. The sales team at Gresham should go to Carr to observe how to run their business. read more

Today my Subaru Outback suddenly lost power to the radio and the heating/air conditioning when I started it up. I called the closest Subaru dealership to where i was. They were unhelpful and had no appointment times till next week (not good in this heat wave). I called Gresham Subaru where I usually like to go and spoke to Bryan in the service dept. I explained what was happening with the sudden loss of air flow and radio (all things in the middle of my dashboard). Instead of just making an appointment for me, he had me try a couple of things first to see if it would correct itself. Lo and behold, it fixed it right away. Bryan could have made me come all the way in, and charged me lots of money, but he didn't. He suspected what the culprit was, walked me through it and saved me time and money and a blazing hot car with dogs in it. This is not the first time that Gresham Subaru Service has gone above and beyond to help me with my Outback in a very honest way. If it hadn't been for Romi a strong four star would be good enough for me, but if we are talking about being professional and willing to go the distance for ur customers, he's ur guy. Absolutely hit it out the park and not only was I very happy with the buying process but his ability to be on the same level as you are is very fulfilling. Forgive me but josh or jake (sharp looking gentlemen up front, bald and glasses very well dressed ) made me feel more the comfortable during the whole process. His ability to get me in the car I wanted and not pressure anything on me was unlike any other dealership I have been to . Never once did I feel like I was being showed a car I didn't want or turned in a direction I didn't want . Hats off to these two, kudos!!! DONT GO HERE BECAUSE THEY HAVE ZERO INTEGRITY AND VERY INCOMPETENT ! I went into Gresham Subaru for a simple oil change and nothing else. Now here is the funny part, they told me that I needed new head gaskets. I had the head gaskets replaced 2 months prior by my favorite mechanic that does amazing work because he himself used to work for a main Subaru Dealership in Portland. Gresham Subaru quoted me $2500. SCAM ! Now heres whats really super bad. On an oil change they should check the manual transmission fluid level correct ? Well they didn't and my Subaru only has 60,000 Low Miles on it. Well needless to say it was low and I was driving to the coast and the 5th gear went out, then I downshifted 4th and then 4th and 3rd went out ! So I pulled over and checked the transmission fluid level on the dipstick and it was 3 quarts low ! Guess what ? $5000 for a new transmission that could have been avoided if they would have just topped off the fluid ! I will never go here again period ! WARN ALL OF YOUR FRINDS AND FAMILY BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED ! read more

I bought a 2014 subaru here in June and was a great experience... THEN I took it to there service department for the first oil change at 3500 miles and they had the nerve to bring me my air filter to let me know that is was getting dirty and I would need to replace it!!! I feel like there service department try's to gouge you and that they are not honest.. They were like this with my other car that I purchased from them too... All the people I know that take there cars to this service department feel the same way that they are constantly trying to get you to do unnecessary expensive repairs that are not needed... Since I have a warranty i feel like I have to have it serviced at subaru.. I think I will make the drive to oregon city and hopefully have a better experience!!! Yesterday (3/17/2013) we purchased an Outback for Khalil Abozeeter, at Gresham Subaru. First I'd like to say that purchasing a vehicle is in my top five pet peeve lists. That being said, Khailil made our experience the best it could possibly be. Due to my strong dislike of the purchasing process, my sweet husband drove all the way out to the dealer, purchased the vehicle and drove home with all the paper work ready for my to sign. Khalil, being the consummate professional that he is, followed my husband home in another car, so that I could sign the papers here at our home without dealing with the stress of going to the dealership. Khailil is such a great friendly guy, he even gave us permission to use of is beautiful cabin by Mt St Helen's. Over the nearly eight years our cars have been serviced at Gresham Subaru the experience has always been pleasant with the work done promptly and correctly. I appreciate their service facility is open seven days a week. The service area is very clean and open and the personnel friendly, professional and trustworthy. Most recently, I was having a problem with my battery. I called service and they said I could bring it right in. It was very busy, but they checked the battery, saw it had a dead cell and needed replacing. In all, it took about 45 minutes which let me relax a bit and have a snack and some coffee in their waiting area. Already 20 min into reaching the service department, I asked the service dept my question and he said I don't know whats wrong, I just answer the phone. Can I talk to a auto tech? I give my personal experience with Gresham Subaru a rating of 3 stars. Well the staff were pleasant to deal with, I will have to say their credit department has its limitations. I work in the public sector with children and my salary is what one could consider lower than average. A long story short their credit department could not find a loan that fit my needs. I ended up going across the street to the Hertz lot on the same day and they could easily provide multiple loans for the same amount Gresham Subaru could not. I bought my Subaru Outback in 2010 and have had all services (small and large) completed at Gresham Subaru. As a home health provider, having a dependable car is imperative. Bryan Hays, Service Adviser and the entire service team have always gone out of their way to keep me on the road. Just yesterday, I was amid my work day when alert lights started flashing. I immediately called Bryan, and as has happened EVERY TIME I have an issue, he said, "Bring it over and we'll check it out." 20 minutes later the issue was found and 24 hours later, my car was back on the road. James the manager or whatever he is is extremely shady and pushy...trying to charge double the price on used vehicles. Negotiating with him is horrible, he is so demeaning and talks to everyone like they are stupid. Savannah is a kiss ass to this manager so she's just as bad and has James step in for her when she gets a wittle nervous. They also will talk smack about you 2 feet away thinking you can't hear them but oh we certainly can.
