I would like to thank Khalil and Adam (he went to acupuncture school), 2 wonderful, good people. I bought a slightly used 2012 Subaru Legacy in 2013. It was evening when I got there, the salesman I talked to said he'll bring the car to the garage where I can inspect it. What he did was park it where the front of the car was well lit, but the back of the car was not. After the transaction, the salesman drove the Subaru while I drove my car back home. When I was driving behind the Subaru, I noticed that part of the bumper was damaged. When I told the salesman about it, he had a little smirk on his face and said I already bought the car and there's nothing that he can do. I was obviously distraught. He is one that gives a used car salesman a bad reputation. As I drove it the following couple of days, I also noticed that my right hip ached because of the narrower foot area on the right side. I brought the car back to the dealership and Adam saw me inside the car. He approached gently and kindly and asked how he may help me. He listened and helped, then asked Khalil to help me further. Khalil listened and had me try different Subarus and also brought the bumper situation to the general manager Nick Smit, who promptly approved to have the bumper repaired. As I drove the Subaru legacy I originally purchased, my right hip still ached for several more months, but the memories of the 2 beautiful and kind people of Khalil and Adam gave me comfort and appreciation. I still drive the Subaru and has moved to the coast, I drive it along the beach and am at peace I can navigate the sand because of the Subaru. Periodically, I still think and thank them to this day and hope this note of appreciation reaches them. I wish both of them well. I made an inquiry online after learning that the insurance company was going to total my car after an accident and from day one, Darrell kept in good contact. He was never pushy, but informative and when I came in to look at possibilities, showed me a variety of both new and pre-owned cars. By the time I finally knew the amount of my settlement, I had learned enough to know which vehicle I wanted and when Darrell wasn't available, he passed me on to Tiffany. She was super helpful and found the exact car I wanted in another town and had it in Gresham by the next day. She was very knowledgable about the features and very fun to work with. These guys put shady dealerships to a new low level, if I could give them negative stars I would. My wife and I went there because they were one of two dealerships in Portland that had the exact used car we were looking for. We got financing in place at our credit union before we even started shopping. When we got there the salesman was friendly and everything seemed great, it wasn't until we went to sign papers that things got bad. They demanded that they had to pull out credit reports (we already had financing so that was completely unnecessary) we told them no. They fought with us and gave lie after lie on why they needed to pull our credit, none of it matched up at all. After a long time of this we demanded to speak to the finance manager who told us we were completely correct and got our paper work started immediately. We thought the nightmare was over but now we have received multiple calls from "Brent" demanding more information (the exact info that's on a credit app) so finally I called my loan officer to see what the deal was. They hadn't even submitted our paperwork to our bank and in fact were attempting to shop our credit to other banks to resign us at a higher rate. It wasn't until our loan officer demanded they fax the paperwork on the car that they finally did. I wouldn't wish these people on my worst enemy. Do NOT do business with these crooks. read more

We stopped in on Saturday around 5:30, my son was looking for a new car and it was his first car buying experience. We were treated so poorly, I dare say my view of the Subaru name has been diminished a bit for me. There was a "sales agent" who was sitting at his desk in an office, who finally got up and came out to help us. After my son told him he was looking and what cars he had in mind, as well as his budget, this person immediately began to tell us that being a first time buyer would limit credit approval amount, and therefore he would need a large down payment in order to buy a car in that price range. The guy had a lot of nerve, as if he was telling us we were shopping above our ability. Then, after looking at a few cars, he was clearly just standing there watching, and not really interested in helping us. Then, to top it all off, after my son said he would love to test drive one of the vehicles, and the guys says "man I don't have time for this, I need to go home, my wife is waiting for me.". I could not believe what he had said with a smile on his face, that I just stood stunned for a second. I have never in my life had someone whose job and survival is selling cars tell me that they did not have time for us. I guess he pre-judged our ability to buy a car that would be worth his time and effort. Too bad for him, we were willing to buy that day, and in fact we did. We went to another large used car superstore nearby. I plan to share this experience with Subaru corporate. read more

bought a used car from Gresham Nissan. It was a 2000 Xterra with 168,000 miles on it. I didn't really want to buy a vehicle with that many miles but the sales person I talked to on the phone AAron assured me that they are a new car dealership and do not sell "junk". Apparently they do. There was a long laundry list of things that needed to be repaired and they said this is everything wrong with the truck we will fix it, found during their inspection by the way. So I took it for a test drive and should have been leery right away when they would only let me test drive it a couple of blocks. I told them I would have to think about it because another dealer wanted to buy my current car. They called me an hour later and said they would make the repairs and match the price of the other dealer for my vehicle. We negotiated the price of the truck and at the time I didn't realize but they were off on matching the other dealer offer by $500.00 and when I was offered the extended warranty they told me that I wouldn't need it because of their rigorous inspection and that their mechanics work on the vehicles as if their children would be driving them. If their children drove the vehicle they sold me they might be dead. I had to schedule the repairs and they said bring it by on Saturday. Mind you that I bought the truck on Thursday. On Saturday I noticed a smell of antifreeze and took a look. The reservoir was low and I noticed the AC lines were leaking which were part of the agreed upon repairs. So I get my vehicle back on the next Thursday. My family and I are going to dinner and we are making a right hand turn when the whole driver side of the vehicle collapses. I took it back immediately and had to wait until the next day to get it back. Apparently when I asked them to replace the clutch the forgot to re tighten the torrision bar back to factory specs and caused the collapse. This was with my whole family in the car. We could have been killed. So we thought everything was fixed. My wife and I took separate cars and she wanted to drive the truck home. I followed her and noticed white smoke coming out of the exhaust, but thought it was because it was cold outside. I then noticed it in the mornings too. So I did some investigation and had the vehicle pressure checked. Guess what? Bad head gaskets. Mechanic said it should have been found on pre-deleivery So, I went to the dealership to see if they would fix it. Nope. tried to sell me another car and when that didn't make me happy they said they could fix it for $1500 which was a steal of a deal they assured me. Nope, found another dealership quoted me the same price. They will get no more of my money. Please do not buy anything from these snake oil salesmen. They are frauds and as dishonest as they come. Oh and I haven't even had it a month or put 800 miles on it. read more

I looked at the Forester I wanted to purchase on line and put in a price request with 3 different dealers. Gresham Subaru responded the quickest and provided me with a good price along with a link to the exact Forester I was looking for. I was not sure about where my credit was so I asked them and they had me pre-approved before I was off work. I went straight there and purchased the Forester and even made it home to cook dinner for the family. It was easy, straight forward, and they made it a fun experience. I will gladly reccommend Gresham Subaru internet department to all of my friends and family who is looking for cars. About 2 weeks later the service department sent me a coupon for free maintenence and I took in my daughters car and found she had a bad axle bearing and they replaced it and had me back on the road in a very short time! I took my Subaru into this very seedy scammer place and heres what happens. After the oil change they tell me that I need a $2500.00 yes I said that right a $2500.00 head gasket job because they said that their is a small oil leak on the head gaskets. I was like but my Subaru only has 45,000 miles and is a 2007 !!!!! They said oh thats just normal maintenance. I was like uh no its not. I took it to another reputable mechanic and they looked at the head gaskets and started laughing because they said that during the oil change they spilled some oil right where the oil filler is and it overflowed onto the head gasket area. The honest mechanic place wiped it off and sent me down the road. I thought OMG !!!! What if I would have believed them and put it on my credit card. I noticed that right after they told me at Gresham Subaru about the head Gaskets I was sitting in the waiting room and a slimy salesman came up to me and asked if I wanted to buy a new car. I think that either they wanted to sell me a $2500.00 head gasket job or maybe a new car. DONT TRUST THEM !!!!!! read more

We were here to explore Subaru cars a while ago, as we never own one and would like to consider to get one. However, we were being treated terribly. While test driving a certain model, the salesman asked us whether we checked out other brands. We encountered these questions quite common before so I told him. However, afterwards, he did not want to invest any energy and time working with us that he did not even want to check out their available inventory. Instead, he asked us to go around in their large parking lots with all different inventory to check it out on our own. I even asked him could we spoke to a different salesman or his manger, he was like: "if you are buying a car, I am your guy. Are you buying a car or not? It seems like you are still looking around with other brands" I am sure there has been times people go to a dealership checking out a car without intention to buy but end up buying it. You should treat every customer nicely regardless even though they checked out other brands. Actually, you should treat them even better if you want to win their business! Later, we did get a Subaru elsewhere who treats customer with respect and friendliness. I would not recommend people coming here. read more

I made the drive to Gresham Subaru from Hillsboro after seeing a used car I was interested in online. When I arrived, I was greeted by Mary who wasted no time in showing me the car I saw online. On the test drive Mary was very friendly, personable, and funny which put me at ease. How often does that happen at a car dealership? After trying to work out a deal that worked for me on the used car I came to the decision that buying a used vehicle was not for me and that I rather check out a brand new vehicle and try to work out a deal on a lease. After taking the test drive on the new car we sat down and worked the numbers for the lease, Mary and the sales team at Gresham Subaru did everything they could to make the deal work for me and I took it. I was able to drive off in a brand new WRX at a monthly rate that worked for me. My experience with Mary at Gresham Subaru was great, I never once felt that was I being pushed or persuaded into something that I didn't want or couldn't handle. Needless to say, I'll be sure to recommend friends and family to Gresham Subaru due to their hassle-free way of doing business. read more

SUPER LONG STORY.. went in to look at a used vehicle for purchase that I found online. I connected with a salesperson online who returned my emails replied very promptly. She was informative and welcoming. I headed in to test drive and was promptly greeted by the Sales representative that I had been speaking with. She wasn't pushy at all. That can be a huge downfall. After a few hours of her working on my end to try and get me in to a vehicle I was told that this may take a few hours so I should go home and they will call me. After sevral hours later I reached out and wanted to know what was going on. Long story longer, I was told that she would find out tomorrow then let me know right away. Tomorrow came and I heard nothing by 4pm. I called and then was told that my sales person was busy with other customers and would call me back. Another 2 hours after that I heard nothing so I called again. Turns out I didn't really have a chance with financing. The person who I spoke with both times the next day knew and was helping with my financing situation. He told me that they weren't able to make it work. Sheesh. All that waiting and being strung along for a no. What really disapoints me is the feeling that I was left with. If my credit isn't the best then my customer service is less. . My question is why am I less important then the customer they were with? Just a call back was all I needed. So If the Sales lady wasn't so nice in the beginning they would have 2 stars from me. read more

Will never go back we drove 4 hours to look at a car to be told upon arrival that the car and salesman were offsite (i spoke with the salesman 1 hour before) then they asked if we would like to make a deal without seeing we we said sure we'd see what they could do. Then he comes back and says that he will send us pictures as soon as it come in. Got an email that night saying thanks for coming. Emailed him back and then no response, emailed the general manager still no response. Then called gm no response texted his cell phone still no answer. Was told car would be there Tuesday (today started calling at 8 am and thank god we did not drive there as we originally had planned on being there when they opened like the salesman suggested as it would be another trip of gas down the toliet) Just called again to be told that the car was sold last night when it came in (monday????) and that it was pure luck and they did not try to sell it and we were told to buy it before which we tried and were pushed away. This place is sleazy. BTW we also had cash, no trade, etc. and they were aware of this. Will never go here again they were given 1 to many chances and will never get a third with us. I have been buying cars for over 30 years and this is by far the most pleasant car buying experience that I have ever had. I had researched prices online, before I actually started the process and so I knew what a fair price was. From the moment that I stepped on the lot, Nicholas, who is one of the sales managers at the dealership, greeted my wife and I and made us feel extremely welcomed and comfortable. Then Nicholas introduced us to Dave and said that he would be taking care of us. I can see why Dave is the top sales person at that dealership. Never once did he make my wife or myself feel pressured into buying anything. He is one of those rare sales people that leave you with the feeling that he actually cares more about your needs then he does about his own commission. We ended up buying the car that we wanted at a price that I consider to be more than fair. Based on my experience,I would highly recommend Nicholas and Dave and Gresham Subaru to anybody who is looking to buy a vehicle. read more

Do not buy from this dealership. If I could rank them a zero I would. They will do anything to get you onto the lot in hopes that you will buy something. I was told they would price match offers from other dealerships. I told them my pricing for a car that was in transit. I even called on my way over to buy the vehicle to make certain I wasnt wasting my time. When I arrived, I found out that they couldnt in fact match the price and werent even competitive with the offer they gave me! When I confronted the sale rep who guaranteed me the deal, he said he was sorry that he was wrong in offering me the price match guarantee. When I spoke to his manager, he told me it wasnt his fault because he had no idea what his sales rep had offered me....that followed by "please keep your voice down since there are other customers here." I am filing a formal complaint with Subaru corporate. Even worse, I drove 45 minutes all the way out there to have them flat out lie to me. I have already told three friends who are buying subarus to avoid Gresham subaru, As a result, they are all using Lithia or Dick Hannah for their purchase. read more
