I love Gregoria. She's a sweet woman who has taken care of my hair ever since I visited her on a whim back in May. Funny enough, when I decided that I wanted to dye my hair, I actually ended up at a different salon a few blocks away because they had more reviews on Google. Greg's salon had popped up in my search, but ultimately, I decided to go with the business that had more consistent experience noted. I won't name names, but I showed up at 12PM on a Sunday and was treated pretty poorly by the owner due to her failing to update her hours on Google. She not only berated me for somehow not knowing that her daughter's graduation was the following day, she also implied that I should've known to call ahead of time as if she hadn't only been open for about two hours at that point. She started off by telling me she could not do my hair in any capacity because she had to leave at 1pm, but then said that she was gonna do my hair anyway because she didn't want any issues with me.. as if I was going to fight her or something. Ultimately, there was no way I was gonna allow that woman to touch my hair and so I decided to ask her if she knew of any reputable salons in the area. She sent me to Greg's. The most decent thing that she had done all day.
Greg's salon was not super busy but also not empty at the time and I was immediately greeted. I told her that I just up and decided to dye my hair that day and she sat with me and went through the color book, as well as listened to my concerns. Even though there's sort of a language barrier because I'm not perfect with my Spanish, she was able to understand that I wanted to dye my hair red, but didn't want to end up orange, as I had when I was a teenager. She took care of me and my hair turned out beautiful and I've been going to her ever since. You can tell she knows what she's doing and is genuinely a good person which matters to me. Just very much an old-school Dominican hair salon type of vibe, you're not gonna get out within an hour, but you are gonna leave having been taken care of. The last time I was there, her card machine wasn't working and my phone had literally just died, she trusted me to send her the money when I got home through Zelle. If that doesn't tell you the type of person she is, I don't know what will. One things for sure - if you're in need of a good hairstylist, Greg should be your go to. read more
