A visit to Greg's was interesting to say the least. It is a "seat yourself" diner but there is no sign to let you know, and we stood at the door for a good 10 minutes before I finally asked someone. The food was OK, but the service was nice. We had a lovely waitress named Sally, and she was very busy. It took a long time for tables to be cleared even during the slow times. I wasn't really a fan. The "home fries" had no taste or seasoning. The coffee was GREAT!

The restaurant is set back a bit from the road with a big parking lot in front. There is a big sign at the road, so it's pretty easy to find. There are a couple businesses which seem to share the parking area, but it's not crowded. I didn't notice any handicapped spots, but I wasn't really looking either. We were able to park next to the front of the building, which has an awning that runs along the entire front so you can get out of the rain (or sun) quickly. The dining area feels large and open. It's not crowded together, and there are plenty of seating options. There is a chalkboard to the left rear with daily specials and other items listed. The counter is to the right as you come in the door. Our server asked us where we wanted to sit, so we picked a booth near the back. Drink orders were taken, and we read through the extensive menu. We came specifically for breakfast, and they offer many choices and include just about anything you can think of. I settled on eggs, biscuit and gravy, sausage, and grits. Those are my go-to items whenever I try a new place. The food took maybe ten minutes to come out, and seemed hot off the grill. The eggs were cooked a little less than I requested, but not bad. The sausage was done perfectly. The grits seemed like store-bought, but serviceable. The biscuits and gravy were excellent. The server was very friendly and experienced. All servers seemed to work well together, and I never saw an empty drink anywhere in the restaurant. Greg's offers a lot more than breakfast, so I hope to get back to try their other offerings. There are also a lot more breakfast items I need to try. I think I'll be coming back often.

I been wanting to try this restaurant out for about a month now. I called them on phone and they talked me into driving the 74 mile round trip to this restaurant. Got their chuck wagon steak, fried okra, Lima beans and a cold fried apple pie to go. They didn't bother to heat my apple pie up either as they just gave it to me assuming i wanted it to go. I was hoping to eat the apple pie there. Lima Beans came in a small bowl and were actually good the more I have thought about it. They were very slow in getting my to go order ready as if though they were waiting on somebody to show up. Menu items to go ordered were: flounder, strawberries and bananas, and fried okra. Well, Friend actually liked all this food and given that fact alone raises the so called "bar" up. Final thoughts: I might go back and give them another chance. I also added their hours to the listing a few weeks before visiting.

I like coming to Greg's for a few reasons. First, I like the area of Chickamauga. It's slower here, so expect that (all around) before coming. Secondly, I like the food. After seating myself, I like that I can chose breakfast or lunch all day, and they offer daily specials. For breakfast I usually get something like eggs, pork chops, French toast and hash browns with onions. For lunch or dinner I usually go with "a special", a meat and two veggies. I like the chicken fingers (with ranch and buffalo sauce on the side) greens, beans, cornbread and or rolls. They have good coffee and tea. Lastly, I like the price for the value. The kids usually get a $5 breakfast that includes 1 egg, bacon or sausage, biscuits and gravy or grits and toast. I recommend Greg's if you want down-home cooking, are not in a hurry, or want anything fancy.

Holy cow! I was working in the area and found this jewel on Yelp. It was exactly what I was needing today; good Southern comfort food. They had a special of the day which was chicken and dressing, turnip greens, sweet potato casserole, pinto beans and corn bread. It was to die for. Seriously. As if things couldn't have gotten better, the waitress was very nice and attentive. I will for sure visit this place again. I would've gave it five starts but I think it was a little pricey at about $11 for lunch (with water to drink)

    The whole restaurant! Nice!

Nice, standard "country" fare, very good service, the decor was classic old signage. The food was good, although the country fried steak was a bit thin and tough, the sides were very good though. The place was very clean too.

When we arrived to our room the first thing I noticed was the view! We were on the ground level, so we had a nice sitting area just outside the room. Although it was too cold to sit outside, the view from inside was just as nice. Once I started looking around at the room I noticed how outdated and in need of deep cleaning it was. The carpet was stained, our bedding was stained, the wallpaper was peeling off, dirt and grime had gathered in the corners, and there was toothpaste or cleaning spray all over the bathroom mirror and sink. My side of the bed was caving in, so when I laid on my left side I rolled a bit, which makes me think maybe the mattresses need to be replaced. I will say, the pillows were comfy! That evening we ate at the restaurant where we ordered off the menu. I ordered The Falls Burger, which is your basic cheeseburger with the usual toppings - lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and your choice of cheese. The burger tasted like it was previously frozen, but the fries were delicious! Our waitress, McKenzie, was incredible! She was attentive and friendly and deserves recognition! We ended up back at the lodge restaurant the following evening where they were serving a buffet dinner only, no option to order off the menu. McKenzie was great once again, but unfortunately, the food was not. The buffet consisted of soup, salad, mac-n-cheese, rolls, yellow rice, black eyed peas, BBQ chicken, catfish, carrot cake, pumpkin pie, and apple pie. All of the items I ate were cold and just mediocre. You can imagine my surprise when I saw the $46 bill - $27.99 for an adult and $15.99 for a child. Absurd for the lack of options and for the cold food. (Keep in mind that the closest towns with good dining options are at least 30 mins away.) During nice weather the falls are gorgeous to hike up to and the park is fun to explore, but take note if you have children with you and the weather isn't great, there's not much for them to do. The park itself is beautiful and well worth a trip! And I truly believe the lodge could be brought back to life with a few changes.

One time my parents and I came here after dinner for their gelato, and it was so delicious. We were all very impressed with the consistency and how smooth it was. So I've only had their gelato after all these years. This time I came for brunch with a friend on Sunday morning. It was packed and we got on the waiting list for a table. Wait time wasn't too bad actually. My friend and I both ordered the Hodgepodge Hash and I subbed the sausage for chicken sausage. Everything was absolutely amazing. I wish I had come here sooner. I loved everything about my meal. It was flavorful, dynamic, full of texture. It had that spice from the serrano peppers, crispy and flavorful potatoes, and the sauce tied it all together. I love savory breakfast, and that was it. Now I'm hungry and missing my previous meal just writing about it haha. Afterwards, we got gelato! I was pleasantly surprised that the gelato came with two scoops because I originally just wanted the coffee flavored one. So I had a scoop of Coffee + Cream and Pistachio. Our gelato was so tasty. I love anything coffee so this one was good, and the Pistachio one was nice and light. It had a subtle Pistachio creamy taste. Just as before, the gelato was smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. Service was great, our waiter was very friendly and super helpful with our food preferences. I have no complaints at all about our experience, and I love every single thing we ordered. I can't imagine a better place to spend Sunday brunch. I look forward to the next time I'm back, thank you!

Please take this review with a grain of salt. Today was probably not an exemplary day for Milk &…read moreHoney. Mother's Day are challenging, but I think where they hurt themselves. The most is that they do not have a method to take reservations or even call ahead seating. Wait times were often in excess of an hour listening to other people waiting to be seated. That's a horrible experience on its face, and the management of this restaurant needs to do much much better or just close on Mother's Day. Next, we'll get to the food. I doubt it was a shining example of what they are capable of. I got the shock Shuka and it was mediocre. I'm not expecting it to be as good as what I would get in Tel Aviv, and I've had the real thing in Tel Aviv. But to be honest, the eggs came out nearly hard-boiled not poached. And the eggs are one of the stars of the show for this dish. If you don't get them right, the entire dish fails. Next will touch on the chicken and waffles. The observation from my tablemate was that it was dry and he didn't even eat it all. The same thing can be said for my other tablemate who had. The chicken biscuit. The biscuit was exemplary, but the chicken was dry and actually overcooked. Then there were the omelettes, I don't believe they were impressive in any way and the people that ordered them agree. For those of us at the table, they ordered coffee, it was rather strong. I normally like strong coffee, but this was borderline Turkish coffee, and there wasn't enough cream available to mask the potency. The service was also stretched thin, our server, Destiny, did her best, but she was waiting too many tables. Having one better way to myself I have a special affinity for Service staff who are asked to do too much. We left her a good tip, but I'm sure she is capable of much better service than what she was allowed to deliver. Finally, the overwhelming crowd made the restaurant feel claustrophobic. The noise level was far too high, and we could barely hear one another at our table and we were sitting very close to one another. I don't place the blame on the kitchen, staff, or the wait staff, or even the greeters. This was a fail of management, plain and simple. They made no contingency plans for that many people and should have anticipated a larger crowd on Mother's Day. I challenge you to do better. We will come back during a normal Service day to see if you can perform better, but I encourage you as owners and managers to stop setting your staff up for failure, which is what you did!

On the other side of the wall there's an entire book store that is part of the business. It had one of the most impressive collections I've seen in a bookstore in awhile. It wasn't huge but it had a great variety of genres, and a lot of intriguing titles I hadn't heard of but sought to remember for later. The man working the register was a charm- he told us how Ellijay has their own tv production (which they were playing on an old school tv), a special Bigfoot podcast and more. Lastly, the coffee was, of course, delightful. I had a latte with a little bit of spice in it that was perfect to warm a person up in the cool early spring air when we were there. Had we known this would be such a cool stop I think we would have bargained even more time to just hang and enjoy the atmosphere. I think it could be a good place to sit and do work or read and there's lots of spaces to sit so it's not too loud.
