Fried Chicken Dinner. Sides: Macaroni and Cheese and Dressing
    Erica G.

I actually wanted to rate the restaurant a 3.5. Anyway, I've had a couple of people that live in Lansing, tell me over the past few months that I should try Gregory's. So I was pumped out when I returned back to Lansing to visit friends a few week ago. I ordered the chicken wing dinner, with macaroni and cheese and dressing on the side, with a corn muffin. The chicken wings were good, and seasoned. I like my chicken fried a little harder than the chicken I had, but I could've requested that. For the sides, I really didn't care too much for the macaroni and cheese, it tasted bland in my opinion. And the dressing was dry. I ordered carried out, and I will say the I did like the restaurant inside, it was spacious and it seemed cool for a dining in experience one day. I would try Gregory's again whenever I'm back in Lansing to check out other menu items.

They have the best fish chicken and waffles period I highly recommend anybody that's looking for a good fish and chicken to go to Gregory's.

Terrible food, terrible service, slow and rude. Would not recommend to anyone and will never go back. Bunch of angry lazy workers in there.

Recently brought a group of 5 for dinner at EnVie. Midweek visit, yet the restaurant was full…read more Great atmosphere. The bar was crowded as well. Overall, good feel to the venue. Our appetizers were each excellent. Our group ordered the Brussels sprouts and white fish dip. Would order those again. For entres, we enjoyed the burgers, filet mignon, chicken bowl, and crab caps. Each of us enjoyed our meal and agreed we would recommend these plates to family & friends. The service was lights out. Attentive, fast, yet not intrusive. From beginning to end, on a busy evening, the team performed exceptionally. Well done EnVie team. We will certainly be back.

Update: I am sorry…read moreto update everyone that Travis left EnVie. The new bartender leaves so much to be desired. Pretentious bartender who really really wants to be known for being a mixologist. Don't you dare ask to modify any of his ingenious cocktail creations. I've been to many many bars in my lifetime. Nice bars, hole in the walls, distilleries, hotel bars, outdoor bars, cute little trailer-wedding bars, speakeasies. You get my point. My standards are high but i'm down wherever too. this is the first time anyone has refused to modify a drink for me. and i'm not talking about changing everything. i'm talking about swapping out mezcal for gin (there are barely any gin cocktails anymore). i've been here three or four times since the new bartender-- and i don't even sit at the bar anymore. the only redeeming quality of the place is the chef(s?) who I feel really takes care of people and makes the food with love and care and excellence. the burgers and steak are literal perfection. Le sigh. Travis if you're reading this-- Mike and I miss you!! Management, please try to get him back! Give him a fat raise! anything! your restaurant is going downhill quickly because 1) Travis is gone 2) Inflexible pretentious guy took his place.

My son wanted to have dinner here after his graduation as this one of his favorite places to eat…read more The place was lively with fresh graduates and family members celebrating! My wife and I ordered the Detroit style pizza (Green Pepper and Onions), cheese curds, fried pickles and french fries to share with the table. The server was very attentive and came back multiple times to check on us and refill our water. As for the the food - the pizza was delicious and the crust was fluffy on the inside and has a crisp on the outside. The edges were nicely cooked with the carmilized cheese. The cheese topping still has some nice pull. The cheese curds were hot and fresh. The pickles were crispy and seasoned just right as were the french fries. The fries had a light breading on it. What a great night with family and friends and appreciated everyone coming. Service was great and food was delicious. When we come back, we will visit here again!

Unfortunately that doesn't make up for the food issue. My party and I split some Mozzarella Sticks which were good, but that's a very basic dish. The issue was with the Duke Burger that came out overly grilled (to the point of being charred on 80% of the surface), which is sad since the actual internals were cooked perfectly. The other item ordered were the Fish & Chips, it came out with 2/3rds of the plate just being french fries, a dollop of mediocre coleslaw, and some actually pretty decent Fish & Chips, just a smaller than average portion. Overall, I want to like this place, but the food was pretty mediocre for price tag. Excuse the lack of photos, I didn't really come in with intention of writing such a negative review.

Appetizer: Lobster Arancini Balls 3.8/5 - These were served…read morewith an aoli on the bottom which went well with the crispy arancini. There was one small piece of lobster in this bite, so not the most generous portion for the price. Main: 6 Oz Filet Mignon 3/5 - The meat was cooked well (to medium rare) and had a great crust on the exterior. This carried the dish (as it should). The accompanying sides, mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies, would be best left out. The broccolini and green beans were salty and overcooked, extremely soft and cooked well past it's ideal texture. The mashed potatoes were ok, but are just there as a filler. Side: Michigan Kale Salad 2/5 - The ingredient list sounded superb, but the execution was not there. The kale pieces were LARGE and were hard to eat in bites. It desperately needed another chop (or few) and a deep tissue massage. The salad was also HEAVY on the red onion - if that's your thing, then this is a great salad for you. The red onion was added with a heavy hand and needed to be soaked in water prior to serving to get rid of the pungent bite. Pass. The free bread rolls were ok as well, but I would rather have a Texas Road House roll.

The service provided at Capital Prime makes the evening and experience worth it!…read more The restaurant is intimate and nicely decorated. There is plenty of parking as it is located in a large plaza surrounded by shopping and hotels. The food was beautifully plated and the scallops Rockefeller were the best items of the night! We literally could have made an evening of the scallops, the bread, and the amazing martinis! The sea bass and morels do deserve an honorable mention as they were extremely tasty and well prepared. The rest of our food was ok and overrated, thereby overpriced. The service would bring us back but at the prices perhaps we will stick to cocktails and appetizers.
