We ordered drinks, and waited long enough for someone to come back to take our food order that we were starting to wonder if they thought we were only getting drinks. There was another long wait for our food. When it arrived, it arrived in batches. One person ordered three tacos, but the order was entered wrong, so they only got one to start, and they had to wait quite a while for the other two. The food was good overall, but the portions were quite small. I did like the Bourbon Street French toast, particularly the caramel sauce. It could have used more bananas though. The fried pickles were good, as were the spicy mozzarella sticks. The steak omelet's sauce was odd. The nachos were good. The coffee and lattes were good. But then I saw the spaghetti and fish combo, and if you know, you know! I asked the sister, "How's the spaghetti?" She smiled and confidently said, "Everything is good!" That confidence sold me, so I ordered it. I also asked if they could turn my side of fried fish into a fish sandwich with cheese, and for a small upcharge, they made it happen without any problem. Y'all... that spaghetti was THAT spaghetti! The kind you get at a family repass or after a funeral the comforting, homemade, seasoned-to-perfection spaghetti that just hits different. If you know, you know! It was an easy 10/10. And don't sleep on the fried fish either! It was crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Matter of fact... No door on the toilet stall to this day. Seating area has same setup; booths and tables appear to have been replaced over those years. Dagwood's offers 10 or more draft beers today. The classic MIchelob is absent. I had ham and bean soup, cheeseburger and fries. The soup is homemade and just what I wanted. Burgers are all smash-style; cooked to order and still juicy. To me, the fries are the hit; hand-cut fresh potatoes fried to order and great! Saturday afternoon was a little spotty but they got the job done. Dagwood's is a classic college dive bar with good food cooked behind the bar for all customers to see.

It turns out they were serving crab legs and other fresh seafood entrees. That is when we were told they serve cook from scratch meals and daily specials. Our pizzas came out and both pizzas were loaded with generous toppings. Even the kids small pepperoni pizza looked generous and cooked perfectly. Very friendly service, clean, and affordable. We actually are looking forward to coming back to try some of this made from scratch Italian dishes.
