I needed to move my mom from Renton to Phoenix area. We contacted Greenway to load our truck for us and then we were gone by to drive ourself. Paul and Mark arrived on time, loaded our 26' truck in a little over 2 hours. They secured the load and off we went. When we got to Phoenix 2 days later, I open the back and not 1 thing had move. A family heirloom went missing, and we believe it was stolen. I do not trust that this company vetted their employees throughly ... and if you choose to hire them...do not take your eyes off on the movers for a minute. We hired Greenway Moving (April 28, 2018) to move my 85-year-old mother in law from her independent living apartment to an assisted living apartment on a lower in the same building. The move was supervised as best we could between the two floors... and during that time I specifically told them not to touch a large mantle clock, that my husband was keeping it, and It was to be left in the corner inside the first apartment. At the end of the move, minutes after the three Greenway employees left, we discovered that the clock was missing. We were shocked, and immediately called the moving company and checked every possible location. Greenway was extremely rude unhelpful, and claimed that it was "impossible" that one of their employees could have stolen the clock. We are beyond frustrated and outraged that this moving company did so little to help us... they deflected blame for the theft of the clock. A police report was filed, but the Seattle Police Department told us it is unlikely that we will ever recover this sentimental and somewhat valuable clock. FYI Yelp suppressed my husbands prior review so I am reposting because at least the posting here gives him some closure since the clock has not been recovered. And future customers can protect themselves. Edit: as you can see the owner takes zero responsibility and refuses to be reasonable or accountable. Also, I specifically asked the movers to leave the clock in the apartment, as Petra stated in her reply they at "best" left the clock in area that was unsecured by their own accord, however this is a controlled building with elderly people the likelihood of a octogenarian picking up a three foot tall mantle clock is near zero. The cameras in the building showed them leaving with a bundle of moving equipment which could have easily disguised the clock fortunately for your company it was not enough for the police to act upon. read more

My wife Sara and I employed Greenway Moving (April 28, 2018) to move the belongings of my 85-year-old mother from her apartment on an Independent Living floor at Mirabella Seattle (a retirement community) to a lower floor where Assisted Living services would be available. My mother is elderly and disabled, so we were onsite to supervise the move. We had specifically instructed them not to touch a large mantle clock, over two feet tall, that was a family heirloom. It was left in the corner of the apartment. This clock was a handmade reproduction of an antique clock by Massachusetts clockmaker Aaron Willard (not an actual antique) that my elderly mother had made from a kit when she was much younger. It looked very valuable, but any dealer would have quickly seen that it was constructed from a kit. It had great sentimental value for our family. At the end of the move, just after the three Greenway employees left, we discovered that the clock was missing. We were shocked, and immediately called the moving company and checked every possible location. Greenway was extremely unhelpful, and claimed that it was impossible that one of its employees could have stolen the clock. Although my mother lives in a sheltered community for vulnerable adults, a home so safe that doors are often left unlocked, Greenway asserted that one of the Mirabella residents must have taken the clock. The residents of this home are elderly and most could not even have lifted the clock. Mirabella Seattle promised us that it will never recommend Greenway Moving again. We are outraged that this moving company did so little to help us, and that they deflected blame for the theft of the clock. We have filed a police report, but the Seattle Police Department told us it is unlikely that we will ever recover this clock. We are calling pawnshops and antique dealers in Seattle, hoping to recover our Aaron Willard clock. read more

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use Greenway Moving. The say one price and when they arrive it's a different price. They do not tell you they charge from the time they leave their shop. Also, they demand cash only. You have to pay for their insurance, which is USELESS if they break something: They damaged a very heavy umbrella stand of mine and said it was heavy due to being filled with sand. Their insurance pays $.60 per pound of a damaged item. They said they would calculate the stand without the sand it in, although it was moved with sand in it. I have yet to be paid for any damaged items. Yes, there were other items damaged, just noting one to show how they operate. Lastly, the owner sits in his car while his workers, that appear to be on METH, i.e., ultra skinny with NO teeth try to do the heavy lifting. DO NOT, DO NOT use this Company!! read more

I would recommend Greenway without hesitation based on my residential move from Edmonds to Tacoma. The process was under control the entire time. Petra was excellent in coordinating the move and patient with my questions. The team was prompt, very efficient and skilled in moving furniture and large items - true professionals. I called Greenway after being recommended to them by the Stor-House in Bellevue (which I've given a 5-star review to). Although Greenway appeared to have a stellar reputation so far, they lost it with me. The day before my move, I received a confirmation call on the appointment (which I had made several weeks in advance) and they asked if it would be ok to move the time back by an hour to 10am. As long as we were done by 1pm, I would be fine, I said. Petra assured me that would be enough time. Day of, they arrived 22 minutes late. Apparently they had booked an "emergency" move before mine INTO the Stor-House, so they thought they would be efficient. However, after moving the other guy's stuff OUT, they were not able to start MY move until 11am. I discussed this with Roland, who was there supervising, but he seemed dismissive about my time concerns, convinced that we would be done on time. The two guys providing the muscle were super-nice, but because I was so concerned about the timing, I ended up helping them by loading trolleys and what not. Due to traffic, we didn't even arrive at my new apartment until 1pm. When I expressed my concern about this to Roland, he was indignant. I told him he needed to give me a discount, because not 24 hours ago I expected to start at 9am, and we didn't start until 11. I had wanted it to be done by 1, and it was already 1. Roland refused to acknowledge they had done anything wrong. He repeated that he has never been late before (as if that had anything to do with my situation). He did not acknowledge that they had essentially double booked and did not plan properly. He threatened that if I did not pay him in full for the time spent, he would drive off with the truck with all of my stuff still in it. In the end, the move was finished at 2:30. I paid him for the time because I just wanted to be rid of them. Needless to say, his stubborness and unwillingness to own up to his own planning mistakes will likely cost him more money in lost business thanks to this bad review than he would have lost had he done right by me in the first place. 2 stars because my move was completed, and the guys doing the moving were lovely (they apologized profusely for the whole 3 hours). But -3 stars because Roland himself was rude and completely unwilling to admit to his obvious mistakes. I cannot in good conscience recommend them to others. read more

I have worked with Roland and Petra from GWM on several occasions, I have worked at the Stor-House Self Storage in Bellevue for three years and during that time I have seen a ton of incompetent moving companies, until we met GWM we really didn't have a moving company that we would recommend, sure we had flyers and such but nothing we would actually recommend. After GWM helped two of our customers and they both had fantastic things to say about GWM we continued to refer them and everyone has been happy. Very professional and they arrive with a nice clean truck, Roland the owner also supervises his employees while they are here on the lot and that is quite rare to have service like that and such attention to detail, especially from the larger moving companies. It never occurred to me it would be a difficult job, but I hadn't thought about on a spot on the way in where the ceiling is lowered. We hired Greenway Moving and Delivery to move my mom's belongings from Longview to West Seattle last week after communicating with Petra about the details. I found the entire experience to be of the highest quality. We were quoted a price, given estimated time of arrival, +/- 30 minutes, and a call from Petra the day before the move to confirm. Justin and Zack arrived 30 minutes early. They were polite, organized, professional and careful with all items. This company was recommended and while we didn't have a horrible experience, they were not prepared with the right amount of shipping blankets to carefully wrap our belongings carefully. One of the workers openly argued with the owners and complained about long hours, lack of support, materials....etc. just not sure they were looking out for employees and customers best interest. It doesn't always have to be about saving a dollar when it risks losing two, does it? It's sad to admit but we only bought the insurance after we watched the whole negative experience take place. Luckily, only minor breakage of a few items and scratches on our walls of the new home. Wouldn't recommend or use in the future. read more

Frankly, my only regret is that I can't give more then 5 stars. Top notch operation from beginning to end. When my wife and I started calling around for a moving service, Greenway was the only one that actually came to my residence to give a quote. Others gave me lower price quotes (but not by much), but how could I trust what they told me if they didn't see what I was moving? When moving day arrived, the movers showed up to the minute of expected time and promptly got to work. They were polite, engaging, and worked non-stop. I received so so much more value for my dollar then I could of hoped for. I actually spent less then was quoted to me, while getting a LOT more items moved - A LOT MORE ITEMS MOVED!! Every stick of furniture showed up in the exact same condition it left in, not even a broken piece of glass. I can not say how thrilled I was with the entire operation. After interviewing several companies, we chose Greenway Moving for an intracity move in Seattle based on our initial favorable consideration that it was a business owned and closely managed by a local husband and wife team, Petra and Roland Widmann-Klotz. Their estimate was based on a personal visit to our home to detail the actual scope of the task. (This was contrary to the practice of two other potential movers whom we contacted). During that initial visit Petra and Roland made a very favorable impression with their earnest desire to accommodate to our needs. Our requirements included packing of delicate objects, including heirloom dishes. Petra, herself, performed this task with another carefully supervised assistant. The move itself, including an upright piano that needed to be fit with difficulty into a smallish room, went well. At every point in our relationship, communication with Petra regarding schedules and various other needs was promptly answered and was accommodating. One added advantage is Greenway's policy of refunding 50% of the cost of returned boxes that they supplied once the move was completed. We recommend Greenway without reservation. read more
