The actual service they provide is good in terms of lawn maintenance and trimming of shrubs. However, THREE TIMES this summer they have left my back gate open, allowing my dog to get out. I called after the first two times, on the second occasion, speaking with the supervisor. Within that week they returned to my property and did the same thing a third time. It is completely unacceptable for a lawn company to not leave gates or doors as they were found. read more

Greensweep has been our chosen yard maintenance company since Jedd and Kyle first started cutting our lawn as teenagers. We were thrilled this year with the design and execution of a major landscape redesign with retaining wall and new planting in our back yard this year. They have also done some great remediations to control drainage, creating a swale and a French drain to help control downward water flow on our very steeply sloped property. Jedd provided good estimates and helpful advice, working with us on design ahead of time and even making modifications as we went. Workers showed up in mask and kept to a reliable schedule even with some weather setbacks. We are so very pleased with the work they've done on this project, and will continue to rely on them for ongoing maintenance as we have done for years. read more

Greensweep overhauled my overgrown front yard last week, replacing a broken-down retaining wall and taking out so many weeds. The crew was absolutely wonderful. They even cleaned up all the leaves from my front and side yards, which I wasn't expecting. This company 'worked' on my neighbors yard today. I use the term loosely as rather than mark or test for power and cable lines they simply started swinging pick axes and stabbing spades into an area that wasn't even on my neighbors property. You will probably not be shocked to hear they sheared through the neighborhood cable lines. Rather than confess and apologize they hastily and lamely wrapped the severed lines in masking tape, loosely covered it with dirt, and went on about their work. I waited to see if they would say anything about it until they left. Nada. So if a cable line gets severed in the woods and no one is around to call them on it, apparently it didn't happen. I hired Kyle and his crew to do a major cleanup at my family's house. The work involved not only lawn cleanup but also the removal of about 50 30-lb pavers and the demolition and removal of a brick fire pit. The crew showed up bright and early and got right to work after we did a 5 minute once over. I came home that evening to a gorgeous yard with newly planted trees, mulched flower-beds, and a backyard free of pavers and bricks! I have now hired them to do the landscaping at my condo and can't wait to see the results! Kyle is very responsive and offers great pricing - would recommend him anytime. read more

This company was recommended by my neighborhood listserv, and so when the quoted price was great I was happy to go with them for regular lawn service. Since our initial contact in May of this year, I have had nothing but scheduling difficulties. My agreement was for services every 10-14 days, and initially they began coming out every week. I didn't agree to every week. Since I had this corrected, I can't get them to come back out. I just found out that they skipped an entire week at my property, citing some rain, and I have an event tomorrow. It did not rain every day of this week. It is not raining right now, and it is only 4 p.m. on a weekday. The office manager was completely unapologetic and laid back with zero sense of urgency or concern for their error. They consistently do a lackluster half-hearted job, leaving weeds behind. My neighbors all hate me for my messy lawn. This service should not be that difficult, I have about two pieces of grass total! Just received a call back from a manager who was equally unapologetic. Just terminated my contract. Save yourself the headache. read more

We had a mixed experience with Greensweep. On the plus side, Jedd was generally very good to work with, understood our aesthetic and budget, and made helpful suggestions in terms of project ideas to meet our needs. His team replaced our cracked concrete front walkway with a very pretty flagstone and gravel walkway; and put in a lovely flagstone path on the side of our house. We are very happy with both, and have gotten many compliments. They also put in a pea gravel patio in the backyard, which looks good but is unfortunately not level. This is disappointing. (Didn't think we needed to spell out in the contract that the patio needed to be level; so putting it out there as a suggestion to anyone else who is getting a patio built). The team also did a disappointing job on the grass seeding in the backyard. It barely grew, just a few patchy spots, despite our efforts to keep it watered and sectioned off from use. We later realized that his team never pulled up the landscaping fabric that was under much of that area -- they just threw the grass seed on top. This probably explains why the grass didn't grow. I contacted Jedd and gave him an opportunity to fix the problem, but he didn't follow up. read more

This company was so easy to work with. I called them and left a message, they returned my call the same day, did an estimate for work the following day, and completed the work about 10 days later. All of this was done via phone and email, without my having to be home. Contracts and billing were so easy, and it was really wonderful to come home to a beautiful neat lawn and new mulch. I got multiple quotes for the work, and GreenSweep was the easiest to work with and offered the best price. Will definitely use again. read more

I really, really wanted to have this company do awesome work as I really really liked Kyle's presentation, BUT, starting with his overall estimation, which was under estimated, and we ended up paying lots more for the stone, as it still was not what I wanted! Secondly, his crew needed to come back and redo the stone due to the shoddy workmanship. I finally had someone else, who I knew, but hesitated due to a one star review by one person, come back, and do lots more work, and withmuch better skill, at one third the cost! I had a spring clean up and maintenance and generally pleased with the service. Costs are reasonable and work is efficient. My only dissatisfaction would be with basic customer service. If you never need to contact Kyle, everything will work like clock work for the most part but any problems, questions or added service requests.....don't expect to get a call back within 48 hrs. We moved into our new house in September 2013. Brand new sod had been installed at that time. After receiving proposals from a few local lawn care companies, we selected GreenSweep to manage our lawn care starting in 2014, pursuant to a 6-treatment application program. A few days after our latest treatment on June 9th (which may have been the 2nd or 3rd treatment), patches of grass in the front and rear, and on both sides of our house turned yellow ("burned"). We notified GreenSweep's business operations manager of the situation via email. She replied that the "burning" was probably the fertilizer killing off the weeds in the yard, but that she would send someone out to take a look the following week. I rebutted her explanation stating that we believe the "burning" is due to a misapplication of the last fertilizer treatment. As of the writing of this review (2 weeks after the company said they would send someone out), we have yet to hear anything further from GreenSweep, despite two follow-up emails (attaching pictures of the damage) to the business operations manager, the 2nd of which copied the company's owner/president. While the follow-up emails did notify the company that we were terminating our contract with them, they also asked the company to advise on any remediation of the damage they could undertake. Our dissatisfaction is based on the damage GreenSweep caused to our lawn and their apparent disinterest in dealing with this issue. Update: A little less than a month after being notified of the issue discussed above, the owner of the company eventually responded. He said he finally came by the property to observe the problem. He seemed genuinely sorry about the situation and has proposed a sensible one-procedure plan (aeration and seeding in the fall) to repair the damage free of charge. read more

This is the best landscaping company in the area. Kyle, the owner, and his crews are the best out there. They came out to re-landscape my yard. They arrived bright and early and did the job well. It wasn't perfect, but that might just be because I am very particular. Even though there were only minor imperfections in what they had done, they came out to fix it to my satisfaction. I couldn't ask for more. Very pleased and will use them over and over again. They really do everything they can to make their customers happy. We hired GreenSweep to do a general cleanup and mulching of our backyard and to do an overhaul of our small front yard at our DC row house. Because of a miscommunication, we were initially disappointed with the outcome, but after expressing this, the owner Kyle sent his team back out to redo the yard and it looks AMAZING. We are hugely happy with the finished product, and so pleased that this company stood behind their work. We are planning to tare up our entire driveway and backyard next summer and will keep GreenSweep in mind. read more
