His team took care of our dogs to ensure they didn't run away when they were moving back and forth from the backyard to the front yard. They asked if I'd be "okay with leaving it as is" and did so. Two weeks later they said they couldn't do the mowing because the grass was too high and that's not what they quoted me for. That's not my fault you misquoted me because you didn't think about when you could get out to get the job done. Told them I wouldn't mind if they came out in two weeks, I'd cut it one last time. Cut it, then didn't hear back from them at all a week later. They also couldn't pull the ivy like they said they would (which is why I was quoted so much in the first place) and instead "sprayed" it. It's still out there because it didn't die off and I'm headed out to pull it out myself. I would recommend finding someone else for lawn care. They are no good. Update: The day I posted this, the owner?/Head guy? decided to text me directly essentially saying I was lying / calling me a liar. I haven't seen a single text from him for almost two full weeks when I was asking him how low he wanted me to cut my grass so they'd be able to come out and start regularly cutting. Almost two full weeks! His crew told me they only cut grass on Wed, Thurs, Fri., and this was set up on a Sunday (the day they came out to do the work). So yes, when it was posted WAS two weeks to the day. Not a single text scheduling getting service. No text back telling me "looks short enough" or "needs to be shorter", etc. Literally no word back from them at all. Then, as soon as I post a 1 star review on their business? Wow, all of a sudden I'm getting texts from them again. Obviously you're reading this, and you can try to get it "pulled down with proof" all you want, but the best advice I can give to you, H&J? Communicate with your customers more. Make sure they understand what you are going to do for them, and make sure you understand what they want done. Don't ghost them for almost two weeks and only respond after they leave you a bad review calling them liars and threatening to remove their reviews etc. Whatever "proof" you have, I never signed anything. The only proof you have is the same proof I have: texts. Whatever paper you wrote the quote on doesn't matter if I didn't sign it because we clearly have different ideas of what the job was going into this. But hey, if you get it removed, cool, I don't care. I'm over it. But do better. There's no reason that I should have to write a review to get you to text me. The last text was me sending you pictures of how low I cut the grass and asking if it was low enough and you never responded. For two weeks! Not a single response. So clearly you aren't communicating enough. To their credit: I will admit the work that they did outside of the above stated work did look nice. They trimmed a lot of hedges and got rid of a lot of weeds that needed taking care of. I bumped the review up one star for that. But their communication with the customer is why they are keeping a low rating for me. It was like they were guilt tripping me that I didn't ask them to do something after they did half the job they were asked to do.

Our property is in the woods, and it is unique because it goes up against a ravine, so bucket trucks can't really access the trees in the back. We had three other quotes from different local companies; all of them were really expensive, and scheduling was a pain (1-2 months out, cancellations with rain, etc.). Benjamin had a little trouble finding the property for the quote, but that's because we built the house recently and GPS isn't always cooperative. I had to call the company to see where he was at. The woman who answered the phone for the company was always kind and understanding. The man who did the quote was the company owner. He was willing to work with us on the price, and he said he could get it taken care of the following week (wow, no 1-2 month wait!). We decided to go ahead and schedule the tree removal. While the company did show up at 8 instead of the 12-4 window we were given, this wasn't a big deal (we told them we were going to be home anyway). They did an amazing job taking down the tree and were done within an hour. Very professional group. They had to take the tree down in sections but were very careful, and they were thoughtful about the property (minimal damage of other trees, despite it being a giant oak going down). Overall, we are really impressed with the work. When we need a tree taken down again (we live in the woods, so we definitely will), we will call them first. Highly recommended.

I was actually suspicious of the pricing at first, but it seems like they use tech (in this case a bucket lift truck instead of climbers for the altitude work) where it makes sense. We hired them to remove a couple small dead trees, do a 25' high limb removal, and trim the top deadwood off of another tree. Tree of Life crew rolled up with a team and bunch of equipment, worked quickly as specified with Luis on the quote. They got the planned work done and did not mess around... What really distinguished them to me was the care of the property. They brought blowers and cleaned up after the cutting areas. They brought a chipper for the branches and truck to do any other hauling. For a high cut, they brought in a bucket truck, and laid down rubber track mats to ensure the yard wasn't damaged by the tires. They watched out for the various cables and things attached to our house to avoid damage from limbs. This showed good attention to how they did their work and care for the customer. So last year was a complete disaster. I had someone come and give me a quote and had no less than 4 broken promises of someone to come and do the install. A year later, my husband asked if we were going to try again. The owner did reach out last year after my negative review and an email I send to him apologizing after-all. Reluctantly, I reached out again this year. I contacted the owner directly. He responded right away and welcomed the opportunity to provide service this year (Christmas lights). 10/10 experience! Someone reached out scheduling my date, someone texted to confirm my date, someone called the day before to confirm the layout, we even FaceTimed! Someone called the day of to confirm again, and the confirmed person arrived on time! He did an amazing job. When I asked for one thing he confirmed I really wanted it like that and once he questioned it I realized I didn't, it wouldn't have looked good so I appreciated him asking as opposed to just doing it like the layout said. He tweaked things once he looked at it from a distance and I mean the entire experience was just amazing. So much so we are going to have them quote us some permanent outdoor lights for our backyard. They build a solid product. Unfortunately, the customer service experience completely overshadowed any positives. This was actually the second fence we purchased from them, and we had communication/customer service issues the first time too. Working with Priya is extremely difficult. The moment there's any disagreement, question, or hiccup in the project, she becomes defensive, combative, and outright aggressive. It got so uncomfortable that I started recording our phone calls because of the way I was being spoken to. That is not normal, and I've never felt the need to do that with another contractor before. Scheduling was also a mess. I understand fencing companies work around weather, but this project dragged on endlessly. Weeks passed between signing the contract and actual work beginning, then more weeks between phases of the project with little communication or follow-through. I also strongly suspect they regretted honoring the original quote or underbid the project because random extra charges started appearing later for things that were never quoted upfront. For example, they removed the old fence during a separate visit. No price was ever discussed or approved for that work, then weeks later they suddenly tried to charge me for it. I also noticed the gates were missing handles to pull them inward -- something I assumed was standard on any functional gate. Priya initially tried to tell me that handles are not standard, then later agreed to add them... only to try charging me separately for those afterward too. It honestly felt petty and spiteful. At the end of the day, yes, they build nice fences at competitive prices. But customer service matters, professionalism matters, and how you treat people matters. I will never do business with this company again because I refuse to be spoken to the way Priya spoke to me throughout this process. Completely unprofessional.
