If I could leave negative stars, I would. Just don't. Switching to Aptive a year ago has been the worst decision we've made as homeowners. They're more expensive than our previous provider (Scat...who is amazing and we're now back with!!) but they promised we would see a massive reduction in mosquitoes. We saw MORE mosquitoes this past summer and MORE indoor pests than ever before. It's like they get our spiders steroids. I called to cancel, was told I needed one more treatment to avoid the fee. Got that treatment, called to cancel and was told I still need one more! We had already switched back to Scat because I was tired of seeing Harry Potter working spiders in our house so there is no way I'm paying for another treatment that doesn't work OR a disconnect fee. I've been on the phone with them for hours, talked to multiple people, had "resolutions" a few times and am still dealing with it. Save yourself the headache and money and just use someone else. Beware of scam! I only wish I had checked reviews first. We signed up for Aptive Pest Control in August. We were told it was a monthly service and the monthly fee was $79. They provided the service in August and September but did not in October. I called and was informed the service is every 30-60 days. I was so frustrated by this bait & switch that I requested cancellation. The "manager" said I will be charged a $199 early termination fee. Make sure you read the contract. I signed electronically thinking I could cancel within 30 days and it was only 3 days. High pressure door to door sales (but friendly). You have to get online to see the contract you signed. (Not older generation friendly.) I called once to cancel my applications and was told they will keep my price and just postpone it until Spring 2026. That did not happen. I received a text that they were coming out in August 2025. Now I wanted to cancel, since they did not get this right. I was told to pay a contract fee to get out their contract. I then spoke to a manager and she stuck to the fact that I had a 12 month contract and I had to pay $199 to get out of it. ( I will have to say they are prompt with getting to the first application. The customer service at this company is absolutely horrible. When they come to the home they rarely notify you that they are there by knocking or ringing and discuss what they are doing and ask any questions. I signed up for a 12 month agreement for 6 services. They came for 3 of those 6 services during the winter months which is pretty unnecessary in this climate. Then they continued past the 6 services in the 12 month period and continued to charge and stated that that's how they operate and if I didn't want a further service it was my responsibility to call and cancel it before the service since they use an auto scheduler system regardless that the contract I signed was for 6 charges. My wife specifically told your salesman that we have a toddler and a dog and that we could have no toxic products applied to our yard. You lied to her flat out. Per your invoice, you covered our yard in Bifen (Bifenthrin). Per Wikipedia the U.S. EPA classified bifenthrin as a Category C, possible human carcinogen (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carcinogen). It is toxic to mammals. Bifenthrin can be absorbed by humans either by skin contact or ingestion. It is a persistent chemical and is not water soluble. Making it very difficult to wash off. This has made at our yard a no go zone for our dog and our child. You even put a sign in our yard specifically with a picture of a dog and a child saying "keep off lawn". I knew immediately when I got home from work something was wrong as my saddled feet started to burn. Bifenthrin has a half-life in the soil of up to eight months. Meaning we could be exposed to this for years. How greedy must your company be to put children and pets in danger for a few dollars. Been an Aptive customer for 2 years now and that's probably 23 months too long. Their services are sub standard and I couldn't agree more with some of the comments about service guys sitting in their vehicle and driving away. They're supposed to remove cobwebs, but they seem to miss them, all the time, even on return visits. On the last visit they killed this tree......their chemicals they say are safe for vegetation, and while non of the other plants are damaged, this tree was quite healthy until their last visit, a few days later it looked like this. When I called them they pretty much called me a liar and that they couldn't have done this. Such carelessness and poor service shouldn't be allowed to continue. Would g ive negative stars if I could. Knocked on the door, left without doing the service yet charging the account and sending a email stating they did! Tried this new pest service after getting a knock on my door late one Sunday evening. I signed up for 6 treatments. So far I have received 2. The first treatment was great. 2nd treatment was missed and had to call and get rescheduled. Third treatment was scheduled for September 8th and they were a no-show nor did they call. I've been on hold this morning and they are not answering. Terrible customer service and not a reliable company. I will be canceling our contract ASAP. Going back to Premier Pest control. We signed up for this service not too long after moving into our new home and we were pretty disappointed. Over the course of a few months the techs only came out once or twice and we never really saw any difference in the amount of pests we had outside our home. They ended up double billing us and after calling them multiple times and having them tell us they didn't we finally filed a complaint with the BBB and they corrected the problem immediately. They lack preventative maintenance. They wait for the problem or wait for you to call for the problem. Insects seem to come in waves. With the number of accounts they have, they should be able to determine the season for that insect and pretreat the area. I just noticed a swarm of carpenter ants all over the face of my garage early in the AM. Earlier this year, it was a mole problem they wouldn't cover. Ant problems on multiple occasions, all of which I took care of myself. The only thing they ever take care of are wasp nests. I've had their service for three years and my neighbor has had less problems doing their own maintenance which is about 15x cheaper than their service. Save your money. I showed him the sign...and closed my door.... he then comes back during my baby second nap and knocks on my door again... again with my baby is sleeping do not knock sign on my door.... These people knocked on doors of a no soliciting neighborhood and got my elderly mom to sign up for a contract that, if cancelled early, they would penalize her and make her pay the full amount of 4 treatments. After I called and told them that I did not want them to service the property any more they continued to show up at the door unrequested. Within only 10 days of sending the final invoice we got a collection notice for the last bill. Unbelievable. It doesn't even matter how the pest treatment went.
