Last year we had an ant issue in the early autumn, after a cold snap and some ant spray they seemed to be gone and we never thought of it again. UNTIL...this spring ants started showing up all over the kitchen. With a new baby in the house I was very worried. We tried the same ant spray as last year and it only helped for a little while. After a search on Yelp I gave Dan at Mahogany Flats Pest Control a call and left a message. He called back in a timely manner and I told him the history of the ants. Even though it was a busy time of year for him, as soon as he heard there was a baby in the house he made time to come treat the house for ants. All my questions were answered thoroughly and patiently, I'm sure he gets the same questions all the time! There's a very clear and fair warranty. GREAT PRICING! Also made sure he used treatments that were safe with the baby around. Even took the time to explain why the ants came back, how to get rid of the entire hive for good and what to expect after the treatment. He told me if they weren't gone in two weeks to call back for a second treatment. He came the next day after I called. Showed him the pictures, he said that we had a pretty bad infestation. You see, you must let the ants eat the bait and take it back to the queen ant. When she dies, they pretty much all die. As you can see from the pictures it was very difficult not to just kill all of them right there. In the end it worked, we've been ant-free since the second treatment. read more

I was having a program with clover mites, which are more a nuisance than anything. The other pest places I called couldn't get me in for 10 days, but Mahogany Flats said they could be out in a week. Then they didn't show. I finally got a text saying they could come spray outside my house while I was gone, but I declined since the bugs were inside. They said they could come out the next day, but this time it was a 4 hour window instead of 2. When he showed up, there was no mention of the day before - not even an apology. Then he asked me if I had any white-out because he didn't have any blank invoices. They also charge a 4% credit card surcharge. The bugs are gone and have stayed away, but if they come back, I'll be looking for another pest control provider. read more

I had a cockroach problem in my garage and called Mahogany Flats to take care of it. MF offers a 2 month warranty with its services and I needed it! Those roaches just did not want to leave. MF came over 3 times total (all covered under the initial service agreement) and now the garage is roach-free. I recently had a bout with fleas that lasted way too long. I had tried everything- Flea treatment for my cat, Diotomaceous Earth, eventually foggers as a last resort. Absolutely nothing worked. I even have an indoor cat! I felt gross, changing my sheets every night. I felt terrible for my cat who was being tormented, and I couldn't have people over. My boyfriend suggested this company, Mahogany Flats. I think the total was $120. Partial payment was due at time of service. He came back about a month later to re-treat and check up, and at that time, the rest of the payment was due, and then he gave a two month guarantee after that. And guess what? I'm FLEA FREE. My husband recently called him based on yelp reviews and thank God he did. The owner did a thorough job indoors and outdoors. He was very considerate and kind. My husband liked the fact that he was careful not to treat the areas where my son plays. The product didn't have any smell, did not drip all over the place, did not damage the walls, safe with kids and pets. His product truly works. They responded the same day, and were able to get me scheduled on the first day following the holiday. We were having a Carpenter Bee problem, Dan was very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining to me the causes and remedies. They actually came earlier than originally scheduled- which was a bonus! This will be a review for Mahogony Flats with a bonus life lesson. I discovered a wasp nest in the back yard while working on a fence. One call to MFPC and Dan and his employee showed up in under an hour. They quickly took care of the underground nest and within a day the yard was wasp free. Mahogany Flats was fast, polite and responsive. Now the life lesson: if you have a wasp or bee nest, Mahogony Flats should be your first call. Otherwise you may end up getting stung, getting hives, nearly passing out and ending up in he ER. MFPC is super cheap compared to an ambulance and hospital visit to find out you have allergies. As most of the reviews have stated, we call Mahogany due to the Yelp reviews. This is a private owned company and the owner, Dan, came out the same day I phoned him to evaluate our situation. We feared a possible flea infestation or, at the worst, bed bugs. After a very thorough investigation inside and outside our home, Dan confirmed everything was okay. I was pleasantly surprised when the evaluation was done at no cost! All the other big named companies I called had an evaluation fee and I'm sure they would not have been as HONEST and professional as Dan.
